Memory Parity Check Error? Ewwww ECC memory in a desktop? Servers only dammit, WTF is Dell thinking putting ECC in a workstation in the first place? Probably only one module. Pull modules out one at a time till the error goes away. If needed in pairs, pull pairs out though it will take double the checks to figure out which module(s) are bad. I'd recommend to your friend, to purchase some NON parity RAM and sell the other stuff. It may also be possible for him to disable ECC in the bios. ECC = Error Checking and Correction. This checks the first bit of every page to the registers, and will correct any errors. If you have a bad module, you'll get errors that can cause serious problems. This isn't needed in a personal desktop, theres nothing "critical" about playing a video game, but in a server that does some serious business......there is. Dell sux balls btw, along with every other store bought POS.

The problem I see is that this kind drug-use can lead to irresponsibility which may lead to unprotected sex (more babies and people with diseases!). Thus, this plan can backfire. The only real solution to this with legalization of all drugs would be for the companies who'd sell these drugs to add some sort of chemical that kills the user's reproductive system. Thus, they can do all the dope they want w/out polluting the population. And there isn't that sort of irresponsibility now? You should have more sense than that. Make crack legal and the price of it 1/100th of what it is now, and you'd have more dead crackheads that don't have babies, instead of living crackheads with 5!

I don't know how this topic went so far OFF topic, but I'll add my two cents. I think all drugs should be legalized and dirt cheap, just so we can have some "cleansing". The worlds population is getting too high, approx 70% of the earth is water and in turn 70% of the populations heads are full of air. I say do it and let all the stupid people in the world that have nothing good to offer society kill themselves. Clean the world up without even doing anything.

Win XP is cheap these days. You can get academic upgrade version here at Office works no ID needed. Windows XP Pro (Full, not upgrade) has a retail market average of $299 still after how many years? How do you call that cheap? Linux is free........$300 for an operating system that barely meets the criteria for being an operating system (It has to work, and most of the time it doesn't work properly!) is rediculous.

Yeah well I can't use the Windows Update website anymore simply because the POS doesn't work properly. They're ALL running and I've explicitly forced them into a started state just to be sure too. Windows Update refuses to tell me otherwise though. Edit: Wow that was a quick fix. Set them all to "Automatic" and it works fine. Silly piece of s**t.

Never had much interest in the series, but it's fun from time to time. This new one looks like it might be even more fun than the others. I'm waiting on Metroid Prime 3 though, the controller with that game just makes me drool. That and Red Steel.

Old news, and the media hyped it out to be more than it really is. It's nothing more than a portable ballistic missle defense system using radar. It's also quite likely to be unable to handle multiple targets well. The media makes it out to be some kickass forcefield that deflects projectiles. Quite not.

Dismantle every fan you have and clean them well. I do this every 6 months, and you'd be surprised at the dust that literally gets PACKED into the heatsink and directly under the fan. I have to take a butter knife to my Indigo Orb CPU cooler to get the packed dust out of it. And it suprises me just how much is in there. And with any one fan/heatsink not working properly, you're just holding heat in and making other components hotter as well.
