Yes, but only for 1 or 2 drive models I know of. Theres no point to it though, what with all the means of modding an Xbox that are available. I'm not using some crappy firmware hack when I buy a 360, I want to be able to run homebrew.....not just be a pirate.

Don't need a multi million dollar show to let gamers know whats coming. E3 was nothing but a huge waste of money and time that could be better spent actually doing things for gamers. Like Gryph said, most people that attend the shows don't even belong there. Trade shows are for people directly involved in the trade. What do you need E3 for? Developers don't need to show off their wares to anyone but gamers.

Propeller arena DREAMCAST
ken_cinder replied to gfunk1851's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Wow, they're SELLING the game? It was never released, and no discs were ever replicated. It's 100% a burnt copy. And there are only a small handful of beta copies out there that were given to reviewers by AM2......which is where the rip that was leaked came from. The game was never entirely completed. That "store" should be closed down for selling it. A collector paid a small ransom to get his hands on one of the few betas, and ripped it for the world. -
That and being so open with using the word "pirated" is just so taboo. Refer to them as "backups". May seem a bit anal, but that word makes some cringe. My "backups" aren't pirated, because I believe real piracy is one where you are SOLD a backup and someone on the street is making money off it.

My PC runs PC800 RDRAM, and I'm pretty sure that modules must be in opposing slots. 1+3 and 2+4 Mixing 600 and 800 is fine, all will simply run at 600 though. You should have: DIMM_1 256MB PC800 DIMM_2 64MB PC600 DIMM_3 256MB PC800 DIMM_4 64MB PC600 The above should run just fine, albeit only at 600mhz(300mhz FSB) RDRAM is retardedly expensive, and rising due to the fact it is no longer manufactured. NOS in stores is either sold on Ebay, or long since gone the way of the SALE to get it off the shelves. Anyone still carrying it in a store, either wants a 'tarded ammount for it, or just can't get rid of it because it's cheapass quality modules. As for buying CRIMMs, Ebay is the way to go.......no stores sell em, because they generally come in the box your motherboard comes in. I unfortunately threw mine out because I run 4x128MB modules.

Not likely to happen when they're losing serious ground to AMD as it stands. I can see Intel winding up ousted from the consumer market and relegated to producing only high end server hardware.

I'll take over the world, and bring my Martian friends to finish everyone off. Don't you know Mars will be the closest to earth it has ever been around August 27th? Let the invasion begin!

can i lower the speed of VBA?
ken_cinder replied to XPWaRRioR's topic in Other Emulators [/pc/other]
Auto frameskip turned on should do it. Given that certain key combos enable/disable functions, you probably turned off frameskip/frame limiter. Or you enabled "Speed up toggle" in Options > Emulator -
Heroes in a half shell and they're green!

You can download Quicktime without iTunes, I know it's there somewhere on the page to get to it. I got it myself, I have no use for shattunes. -
Is there really a point to you 2 duking it out to this much of an extreme? You're 2 lowly citizens who couldn't make an impact on this situation if you spent 24hrs a day trying........sheesh.

Ikaruga. I probably could beat it, if I sat down and actually tried to. It just gets hard enough in later levels that it drives me insane!

What's all this talk about portals? Turok had portals for levels, secret items and puzzles (Weak ass puzzles mind you). If you speak of what I think you're speaking of, tis not new by any stretch of the imagination.

Don't know much about them other than the fact they're illegal in Canada now. No more breeding/buying allowed. Current dogs must wear muzzles, and anyone found with their dog not wearing one is fined.

Yes, though I'm not sure if XP Home offers DEP. Check under System > Advanced and see if theres a "Data Execution Prevention" tab there. DEP is supposed to disallow non binary data execution, but given the ammount of scripted stuff (Even in some games, especially ones using Java engines.......Chrome comes to mind) it's more of a hinderance than anything, especially when you don't have a CPU with hardware DEP.
-
Same here, SP2 is fine as long as you disable the security center, and set that damn DEP thing to disabled in your Boot.ini (For those who want to do so, put this in your Boot.ini line for XP BEFORE the fastdetect option.....)

Dell laptop explodes at Japanese conference

Topic isn't even a month old. This ones fair game, I missed it myself (Which is why I replied to it instead of closing it) -
Why not check their refund policies? Though I can assure you, even if they do accept returns (Almost guaranteed only on unopened goods) they most certainly won't refund the cost of shipping. Infact, you'll also be made to pay the return shipping and possibly a restocking fee. I don't know of any places that don't work like that. It's your fault you bought something you don't need. When I was running my shop, these were my policies.

Dell laptop explodes at Japanese conference
ken_cinder replied to i l l m a t i c's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
What I find funny that the rest of you are missing, is that those pictures were able to be taken of it exploding. Care to tell how one gets pictures like that with something unexpected? That's like 1 in a BILLION timing right there. Then theres the guy in the second pic still typing away (Possibly being the one making the thing explode remotely, seeing as he just so happens to be right beside the guy with the camera?) Not to mention, why is that particular laptop on a table all by itself? You can clearly see there aren't even any other chairs nearby in the pictures. STAGED! -
Italy wins........proof that falling down and being a sissy will get you places. They should have been gone when they played Australia. Not much of a soccer fan, but I hate seeing cheaters win. Yeah thats right, I called Italy cheaters.

Copying Dolmexica + burning images
ken_cinder replied to weirdoku's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
I would recommend you don't use Discjuggler. Any burning software that can't recognize it's own format properly is a piece of crap. You shouldn't have to alter any settings for an image created with the program you're burning it with, for it to work right. I burn all mine with Nero, mounting CDI images in Daemon Tools and doing a disc copy. Never had a problem. BTW, this also affords me the ability to check if an image is selfboot. Just check the disc in Nero, and if there are 2 sessions......it's self booting. Bin/Cue is never self booting btw, format can't support multisession. -
Wish I was in school........working (Unless it's a job you like HA!) BLOWS! I've been on vacation for the last week. Spent it playing with my daughter, cleaning, sleeping and just doing more of what I like to do normally.

[Chankast] Multiple Buttons
ken_cinder replied to Rabbite's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
You sure about that? Stock keyboards usually have that problem, but other keyboards such as Logitech's don't have such limitations of 3 keys. Perhaps a new keyboard is in order. Standard microcontrollers do, would explain in part why Logitech's peripherals are so disgustingly overpriced. Never catch me paying $60 for a keyboard. This $10 keyboard I'm using right now has a limit of 5 keys, more than enough even if I wanted to play games with it. -

Try changing your key configuration to other keys. Certain combinations running across the same data path are not possible. You can also try this out. http://www.passmark.com/products/keytest.htm -
[Chankast] Multiple Buttons
ken_cinder replied to Rabbite's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Two buttons at once? As in you're moving with a key + 2 other buttons, or moving + 1 other button? Keyboard microcontrollers are limited to 3 keys at any given time, and I've even heard of being limited to 2...but never one. So I'd assume you can't hit 3 at a time (Moving + 2 others). Limitation of a keyboard, NO solution but a gamepad/joystick. -
Parity error could also be a problem with incorrect voltage being applied to the DIMMs. Is this system overclocked in any way? Also given that the system refuses to even boot without all the DIMMs in place, it's possible theres damaged hardware on the motherboard itself. In your 2nd last post, you stated you tried pulling ram in slots 1, 2 and 3. If it's dual channel ram, you probably have to keep memory in combinations of 1+2/3+4 or 1+3/2+4, of equal sizing as well.
