Yes, but it looks tasteful. I think this looks horrible, maybe you'll change my mind with some updated pictures of further work.

Given that he did it at his fathers auto-body shop, his father is probably making him sell it just to pay for the damn paint. Auto paint is expensive stuff.

Where's the Crack and PCP options dammit!? I'm a big ol' crackhead and occasionally enjoy a PCP freakout! BLARGGHHH!!!!

SMART utilities are a good bet. CHKDSK won't tell you anything beyond dead clusters.

Well I bought myself a 32" LCD HDTV a month ago, that's my present. I got a 2 piece sterling silver and diamond ring today, a sweater and some small stuff. I bought my wife a family ring with 2 rubies and a diamond in it (Birthstones for us and our daughter), a pair of skanky leather boots (Woot!) and some socks. Now as for my daughter, she got too much stuff to really list.....so I'll give a general rundown. A new Winnie The Pooh toddler bed, 240 piece art set. A bunch of dolls, a Disney tea set, a bunch of bears including a fibre optic one that changes color. Tonnes of alphabet and numbers stuff like fridge magnets and puzzles and an assload of books. And of couse clothes. I'd say she had probably 50+ presents.

Just got up, making coffee and feeding my daughter breakfast. Can I list what SHE got?

Wierd here in Canada (Ontario to be more specific). There has only been one snowfall this year so far, and that was over a month ago. Right now it's raining, and it's +3 Celcius. Hasn't been below 0 in over a week.

I don't think I'd be incorrect in stating that is THE largest update to an emulator in history. Now to see if any of it is worth scrapping my previous version for, since I had no problems with the games I play anyway.

Broken backlight on my PSOne LCD, spent months trying to find a replacement. Finally gave up and thought "I should build an LED array to act as a backlight" but I never got around to it, kinda lazy. Just happened to be on the X-S forums looking for parts, and I came across a thread for LED PCB's. Got the dimensions and realized it should work well as a backlight. So I bought one, and here you have it! Fix0red PSOne LCD backlight for a mere $15. (Black Friday sale at the time). I powered the backlight off a +5v point on the PSOne LCD logic board, and grounded off on a null point on the board. Dremeled holes in the top of the backlight housing for the LEDs to sit in and now I just have to hotglue the PCB down and put everything back together. Here's a pic! Thanks to SickDimension from Sickmods for the excellent prepped LED PCB, originally designed for Xbox mods.

Checked out the min specs for this game, guess I'm out. I've been thinking of building a new computer, but for what I'd get out of it over what I have now (I hardly play PC games anymore, if I can get em for a console I don't play em on PC) I might as well just buy a 360.

Yes, I'm well aware of the Administrator account that has no profile attached to it. It has no more control over your system than a normal admin account (Provided you retained one and didn't simply create a regular user account for yourself). Go into your Administrative Tools > Computer Management: Local users and groups > Adminstrator Provided your normal account is a full-fledged Admin account, it doesn't even matter if theres a password set on the Administrator account, you can disable it or reset the password. As for your bios password, you need to change the type from "Setup" to "System" in the bios. In that case, it asks for a password on startup AND when entering Bios setup.
-
My primary account IS my Administrator account. The only way you wind up with a lesser account is by creating one. Have a look here, do you see an "Administrator" folder? You would if you didn't make it your primary like I have. The folder "Ken" is my Administrator account, and my primary login.
-
Why in the world would you setup a single user machine with a seperate user account to the admin account? There's no sense in it like there is in *nix, Windows is insecure no matter what. Anyway, try the tools on this page. http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

You think that's screwed? Why? Better to have the OS on one partition and apps on another or more, as well as your Pagefile on another (Preferably on a different disk than the OS). Here's my hard drive setup. Hard Drive 0 - 40GB Maxtor DiamondMax 7200RPM FS=FAT32, Partitions: C (XP) - 5.00GB D (Programs) - 2.93GB E (Games 1) - 8.79GB F (Games 2) - 8.96GB G (Holdings) - 11.60GB Hard Drive 1 - 80GB Western Digital Caviar 7200RPM FS=NTFS, Partitions: H (Swap) - 1.02GB I (Holdings 2) - 17.48GB J (Isos) - 9.99GB K (Music) - 5.00GB L (Movies) - 6.01GB M (Emulation) - 35.00GB I'm adding another 80GB drive soon that I'm being given for free, not quite sure what I'm going to allocate that to, but my drives will definitely be undergoing a major facelift.

Read the manual on Acer's site for your leptop, and it wasn't helpful AT ALL. Just get yourself a SMART utility and check things out. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Your laptop is considerably newer than my desktop, and even it supports SMART.

You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch I hate Christmas music in general, it's all so candy-assed.

Motherboard details? Mfg + Make + Model. I realize it's a laptop, but you should be able to obtain this information with something like Everest/SiSoft Sandra if you don't know otherwise.

That sure is wierd, but it could be an indication of a drive on it's last legs. I'd format that unallocated space, enable S.M.A.R.T. on the drive and run a S.M.A.R.T. program and see what's up. I had a 30GB drive crap out last year for no apparant reason, S.M.A.R.T. reported it had simply outrun it's lifecycle or something. Bunch of bullshit IMO, I'm starting to think failure is a built-in feature of newer drives, as I have several older, smaller drives that still work like they're new.

Need Help With Paypal (again...for real this time)
ken_cinder replied to Shibathedog's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Yes, you must have a Premier account to accept payments. Paypal doesn't charge anything for transfering the money to your bank account if you're in the US, I however pay a measly 50 cents for anything under $150, free if over that. -
Evidence suggets liquid water on Mars?

Then we wouldnt be here.... Where does that logic come from? My jaw dropped at the sheer idiocy of that comment, cause it makes no sense. -

I'm with the theory of Mars being just like earth a long ass time ago. Would make sense if the sun was alot hotter. -

Help Shiba get rid of his GeForce 3

Nah, got 2 boxes here. 1 awaiting a new bios and the other just being idle. Besides, SDRAM is dirt cheap and readily available at Office Depot. I suggest you hang onto the RDRAM, you won't get much for 64MB sticks right now, but RDRAM is getting rarer and rarer, you may get a good bit for it in a few years. I know to pick up 512MB (2x256MB) of the PC800 NON-ECC Samsung I use, would cost me around $175. Sick huh?
