  1. For now I would just run the roms with Arcades as the new CoinOPS release won't be too far off, it's up to you. If you haven't tried MameOx128Plus then you could give that a go. It supports more features than CoinOPS, like autofire, as well as others. I'm not saying it's better than CoinOPS per se, just it can interoperate with CoinOPS anyway so it wouldn't do any harm to have it there. CPS3 emu CPX3 v1.1 is the way to go.
  2. Burn a copy to disc or make a backup some other way before playing around with any rom manager. All the roms should work perfectly well anyway, at least the ones certified working in the spreadsheet. The only games you may be missing are the ones that have had drivers added recently by BP, that were never compatible with the old MameOx 0.84.
  3. Cheaper, popular first-party titles, 'casual gamer' appeal, Wii-Fit etc. Coincidentally I was reading this article the other day, comparing 360/PS3/Wii hardware/software sales, attach rates etc. Doesn't offer much insight into why, but still a good read.
  4. A full Mame set is around 16gigs. The other few gigs would be previews, artwork, flyers etc, nothing that CoinOPS would use anyway. Apart from the fact that it would take forever to download, CoinOPS only uses about a quarter of the full set. Something like BAED3 has 90%+ of the roms you would need, and it's only 4gigs. Maybe that's still alive somewhere? CHDs are compressed hard drive files that you could use on PC Mame but they aren't needed for CoinOPS. I don't know which of the DATs you should even use to make roms compliant with CoinOPS. If someone has made one or knows which one to use then maybe they could point you in the right direction? Romcenter is pretty easy to use compared to ClrMame, try searching for the tutorial on the home page or elsewhere.
  5. Unfortunately the codec update isn't included, it's still only available from Live. Something to do with the DivX license fees.
  6. Mame roms are very easy to get a hold of, even complete sets, at least minus the chds. I'll PM the link for CoinOPS Gold standalone with screenshots to whoever wants it, then all you need to do is source the roms. Shouldn't be a problem.
  7. Nothing has changed codec-wise. Use XenonMKV instead of GOTSent. Likely just an incompatible source file. XenonMKV is here.
  8. If you just press the central navigation button it's like a mini version of the blades anyway. I prefer the newer look, though it still takes me exactly the same amount of time to do the stuff that I did with the old dash.
  9. You can't overwrite the NXE with an older dash. It is apparently possible with a chip and some soldering skills but it's hardly worth the bother.
  10. I tried playing from my external HDD via USB and from DVD while I was using the NXE preview when the codec update was broken, and it just kept asking for me to update.
  11. The codec is tied to your gamertag but also to the console it was downloaded to. There is no solution as yet. I had exactly the same problem when I bought my 2nd 360 and had to make a silver account just to get the codecs to work.
  12. Agreed, the single player game is pretty shallow. Then again, all the reviews that I read said as much so I wasn't expecting any different.
  13. Eagle Eye with Shia LaBoeuf, Michael Chiklis and Billy Bob Thornton. Decent action/thriller, if a little far fetched. 7/10 Network. Classic commentary on the news/media. Ahead of it's time and is a must-see. 9/10
  14. More added to the pile - NBA 2K9 NHL 09 The Darkness Burnout Paradise Skate Sonic Unleashed
  15. I don't have it installed right now to check but you just have the disc in the drive and then choose, 'Create image from...' and just select your drive. You don't need to alter any other options from there, just go ahead and rip it.
  16. I use DiscJuggler to re-rip any worn discs. Given that most DC games were in DiscJuggler's .cdi format, then I just guessed I'd return them to that. The only formats that I ever seen for DC games were mdf/mds (Alcohol), sub, ccd (CloneCD), nrg (Nero) and cdi. Any of those programs would suffice.
  17. Yeah well all those games have legit retail versions out now so you can grab them again. I didn't touch any of those Seed4Me releases, just didn't feel right. Maybe it helped me dodge a ban that time.
  18. Ah good stuff. I must remember to add you to Live since we seem to have a lot of games in common.
  19. All of the more recent RPGs have been average at best, like Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery and Spectral Force. The only worthwhile RPGs from this year are Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia, but even they are completely different. I'd probably lean towards Tales, though if you like old school JP RPGs then LO is a 4-disc marathon.
  20. Spot on, Dead Space is quality. Also I's swap out GTA4 and/or Fable 2 for whatever else.
  21. Average at best. I like the Joker but that's about it. The block button just kills it for me. A much bigger roster of characters would have been nice too
  22. I think there was supposed to be some in game benefits to an HDD install too, ie slightly smoother framerate etc. I may be off the mark on this one. Once games start making use of the HDD installs then I'm guessing they will be like the PS3 ones, ie only a gig or two, just to take the pressure off the DVD drive. Installing games to the HDD does also help with the pirates and their not-so-great burns, so games which were say burnt too quickly may have bad popup/loading issues, similar to what a lot of us heard around the time of GTA4. Well installing the game to the HDD will rectify that problem. I still say stick to the 60GB. Even most DLC and arcade games are in the 10s of MB so you will always have more than enough space with a 60.
  23. I just installed the newest CoinOPS on a new (old) Xbox. The latest version is missing the 'Scan for roms' option so obviously you are running an older build. IIRC there was a bug when scanning for roms that wiped settings, but this was rectified in a later version.
  24. For TMNT and the Simpsons it's the 4-player World roms which are the parents. There are 3 different versions of NBA Hangtime and they are all 4-players? I remember playing this years ago and I'm 90% sure it was a 4-way cab.
