  1. I thought they were all massively bitchy out of the box?
  2. To achieve what exactly? Are you trying to get anti-pregnant? Either way, I wouldn't recommend it!
  3. That works if you have a dynamic IP that changes upon restart. I've a dynamic IP, but it hasn't changed in over a year because my PC is on 24/7. Usually it would take your PC to be off for a few days before you are assigned a completely new one by your ISP.
  4. Try using a different browser to download. I tested it with Chromium and Opera, both fine. Unexpected end of archive error while downloading? Surely this error only comes when you try to extract the archive, not download it?
  5. It's available on Newsgroups, Blackcats (private) and Megaupload as a direct download. You choose!
  6. Make senseless posts elsewhere for the love of f**k! This is a release thread. Currently it is almost completely uploaded to newsgroups. Later today someone will be upping it to Blackcats, then likely to Mininova and elsewhere the rest of the week.
  7. Could someone PM me the standalone? I'm going to upload it to a couple of places while we wait on the full package
  8. Primarily it's the person who moved away/used bogus address, that's to blame, not the PO. What makes you think writing something any bigger is going to make it any more important/effective? Who is to say that AE doesn't just dismiss these letters anyway? I mean, they would be pretty foolish to remove someone just because they get a returned letter that says 'no longer at this address'. All you need to do is either make a phone call or pick up a cheap envelope/stamp and write a letter to AE. I get mail from the past 3 previous tenants here and have done the same, but to no avail. Unless they actually receive contact from the person themselves it's entirely likely you will continue to get their mail.
  9. Is it just me or am I still the 'owner' of the coinops spreadsheet? I remember starting it months ago, and I save it regularly, but I didn't realise I was still the owner.
  10. For someone that supposedly doesn't know what they are doing then that alone is worth a hundred thanks. It is a shame that more devs aren't willing/able to help with drivers though. I can test/upload but then any tom/dick/harry can do that.
  11. Ninja Blades Megadrive Collection RE:5 Halo Wars Eat Lead Average bunch :S
  12. The new full final package with roms will be arriving on newsgroups within a few days! It takes a long time to test all 1000+ roms are working properly
  13. Welcome Cliff! Enjoy your PM priveleges and stick around
  14. The 'd3dx9_37.dll' bit relates to DirectX9. You must be missing some components/updates. Head over to the Microsoft website and make sure your DX9 is fully updated.
  15. NOD32 + either Outpost or Comodo. I'm having to use Comodo at the minute, though it is easy to configure and has a ton of options, Outpost has been my mainstay firewall for years. I did try Norton Internet Security 2009 as it was said to be much lighter than previous releases, but to be honest it sometimes took 2-3 minutes to fully load on system startup. Not good.
  16. WHOA! I don't remember that many characters in the game! Lol, yeah. It's still pretty early in the morning here, only just up. My brain doesn't really engage until the afternoon
  17. According to the Official Prima Guide, all you have to do to unlock Gouken is to beat Arcade mode with Akuma. For Seth it says just complete the game with all 16 default characters. No mention of perfects or ultras or whatever. I've still to unlock Gouken so I'll just give this a try to test it. Strange thing is that I have fought/beaten Gouken a few times since I unlocked Akuma but never 'kept' him. Seems you must need to use Akuma after all.
  18. IIRC Surreal needs the roms to be in the root of the disc, not in a folder. Check over at Xbox-Scene for more info.
  19. Shellshock 2 is pretty awful. I haven't played Dimensions but I'm sure it's a million times better, especially if you like shooters.
  20. Rewatched a trio of my favourite comedies. Namely Silver Streak, Stir Crazy and See No Evil, Hear No Evil. 3 great/old Pryor/Wilder comedies that are fairly ordinary but for their great chemistry and comedic timing.
  21. Lol. I've had it lying around all week, just got to it last night properly. I forgot to mention for the Akuma/Gouken unlocks. For some reason you need one of the Perfect rounds to be the first or else they won't unlock. I can confirm that this is the case for Gouken at least, as I just racked up 4 Ultra finishes and 3 Perfects and still didn't unlock him :S Exact requirements are different in virtually every place I've read. Even following the IGN instructions to the letter doesn't work for Gouken. There must be some truth in the first round Perfect statement. Will report back after this run through
  22. Haven't hardly played it yet but this 360 d-pad isn't helping. Just ran through it for an hour or so to unlock all the characters. Mostly just for Akuma to be honest. Quickest route to unlock - 1. Set difficulty to easiest, rounds to 1 2. Beat aracde mode with C.Viper, Chun Li, Ryu, Sakura, Abel and M.Bison (unlocks Gen, Rose, Dan, Sakura, Fei Long and Cammy). Continues irrelevant. 3. Beat arcade mode with M.Bison racking up a few Perfect rounds, simply sweeping back and forth with the Psycho Crusher move. No continues permitted. This triggers Akuma to battle, then once beat he is unlocked. 4. Same as 3. but you need to throw in 2/3 Ultra finishes too. Again no continues allowed. This triggers Gouken battle. Defeat him, you own him. 5. Beat arcade mode with Gouken and Akuma to unlock Seth. Altogether it shouldn't take more than an hour to completely unlock every character.
  23. What do you mean by "new range of CPUs"? In the past few weeks there have been about 6 or so new CPUs released by AMD, see here. That article doesn't mention the other two higher end X4 CPUs, the 920 and 940 BE. Example, an X3 710 BE with 3 cores at 2.6GHz and 6MB L3 cache, would be only $125, while an E8400 is $165. This article shows the 710 BE stable at 3.7GHz. Not quite up to the 4GHz of the E8400, but you get a whole extra core running at 3.7GHz, with the same size L3 cache, for $40 less! Makes sense to me.
  24. I was really set on a 7750 but was offered the 8750 X3 Black Ed for the same money so I grabbed it. I had a 5000+ BE for a few weeks and had it oc'd to 3GHz, but the extra core makes a big difference. Personally, with the new range of CPUs just released by AMD I'd go for one of those. They seem to be clocking 3.6-3.8 which is close to the Intel equivalent, but still a fair bit cheaper. You must get a mobo with southbridge 750 to get the most out of the AMDs. The new SB750 boards have ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) which has been thoroughly proven to boost overclock. If you are determined to go with Intel then I'd go with a 7400 instead. It only has half the L3 cache but is usually around 2/3 of the price of an 8400. They can be easily overclocked too. Obviously how 'easy' it is to overclock any of these CPUs will depend heavily on the mobo, so choose wisely
  25. is PS2 emulation up to a worthwhile level? last time I checked on it it was pretty much a waste of time. I played with it for an hour or so, as well as that Dolphin emu. It's depends a lot on your PC specs. For both PCSX2 and Dolphin you do need a pretty hefty machine. I got between 30-50FPS on a couple of shooters on PCSX2 and 30FPS on Wind Waker with Dolphin. Compatibilty is a lot better than I thought too - PCSX2 Compatibility List
