  1. MameOx is a 'safe' download from xbox-scene as they do not allow anything which uses the SDK. As CoinOPs was built upon MameOx I assumed it was ok. I have taken down my link to it for the meantime, although mine was just for the emu itself, no roms obviously.
  2. So far up to around 50 hours on Fallout 3. I still don't like the leveling system. How can I repeatedly perform a task and not get any better at it?! Instead I have to assign points to skills given upon leveling up. It would be a waste, but technically I could max out my Explosives skill yet never set or disarm a mine during my entire game. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe I was too fond of the Oblivion setup. The story isn't as involving as Oblivion either, and the scope for your character doesn't seem as diverse. It is very easy to miss out on a lot of quests too unless you make a point of talking to a lot of NPCs. Still the most annoying thing is the massive detours needed to get through cities, with the invisible walls and the masses of rubble. Instead you are forced to pace through subway tunnels to pop up where you want to get to. What was wrong with allowing direct over land travel and subway routes?! It's not like people wouldn't have explored the subways anyway.
  3. It's has a lot of DAT files and it also has the full compliment of screenshots (103MB). In total it extracts to 184MB. I emptied the artwork, samples and screenshots folders and recompressed it. Now it stands at 8.32MB. I'm uploading it to Rapidshare again, will post the link shortly. Rapidshare wouldn't play nice so I upped it to MegaUpload instead - *Link removed*
  4. Enchant rings, necklaces, to bring to over 100%, 105% will do. Then you will be totally undetectable. You can then forget about any armour at all to maximise spell effectiveness and speed. Beware though as it does remove any challenge at all. Agility and Athletics can both be temporarily raised to 255 with spells and potions.
  5. I'm seriously thinking of buying the Prima Guide for this as it's pretty hard to find any decent source of info for it yet. I guess I was spoilt with the wealth of Oblivion info since I didn't get the game until months after release. I want my 110% Chameleon back to ruin the game!
  6. Definitely pick this one up. Cons - 1) The leveling isn't the same as Oblivion in that you can't artificially level up your skills to become some omnipotent superhuman, well as far as I can tell so far. You need to level up to be able to add skill points, ie you can't repair like 20 weapons and improve your 'Repair' skill that way. You are also limited to level 20, whereas in Oblivion you could have got to around 50 or so. 2) Once you complete the story the game ends for good, unlike Oblivion where a lot of fun was to be had after the game itself was over. 3) The play area is large but a hell of a lot of it is burned out buildings and ruins, and a lot of it is blocked off by large structures and conveniently placed piles of rubble, which is annoying. 4) During the game, more so early on, you can be picked off from a safe distance a lot by Raiders and the like, when you are out exploring. Iit can be hard to tell where the shots are coming from, by which time you have already lost a fair bit of energy. Despite all the rubble and burnt out cars there isn't very much cover out in the open to exploit either. This wouldn't be so bad only your own character's shooting accuracy at distance is abysmal, until you get up a lot of levels. In effect, you have to charge down targets until you get within a decent range to make shots count, again taking damage all the while. This is ok against 1 or 2 opponents, but a whole group is just slaughter. 5) Travelling to a place must be done on foot initially, then it can be fast travelled to. This wasn't so bad in Oblivion where you could mount your trusty steed and gallop off to the next town, in F3 it can be monotonous and treacherous at times. 6) Weapons/Armour can only be repaired by having another one of them in your inventory. That is, to repair a .32 Pistol, you need another .32 pistol of similar or worse condition to use to repair it. Some NPCs do offer a repair service but they are woefully skilled, at least early-mid game. 7) A lot fewer NPCs that you can interact with compared to Oblivion, which had around 1500 IIRC. I don't know exactly how many F3 has, but it is noticeably less. The main story is short, at least going by the multitude of reviews. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the aforementioned fault of having the game totally end when you complete it. Also I have noticed that large chunks of the story can be skipped by accidentally stumbling upon various places in-game. This is apparently in line with the previous Fallout games, but seems to be niggling a lot of people who were expecting to have to complete Quests A, B and C before being allowed near Quest D. I know a lot of these cons are direct comparisons with Oblivion but I can't help it! Pros - 1) V.A.T.S targetting system. Great fun, slo-mo head explosions etc (though even these can be tiresome after some time) 2) Vast landscape with great draw distance and an eerie, unpredicable atmosphere. Can't think of any more except to say that it carries over a lot of good gameplay from Oblivion, though I honestly don't rate it as highly. Still thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.
  7. I'm sure it will be eventually, I'll probably do it myself. Just for now only a fraction of people have NG access so MegaUpload would be a good start > torrents > newsgroups.
  8. I don't think I've ever gotten more than 200kB/s but whatever gets it out there I guess.
  9. It should be easy enough to get. Make sure it is the newer leaked version. There was one leaked weeks ago that wasn't quite complete. This one is around 7.5MB or so. PM me later if you can't get it and we can sort something out. You should have already gotten an update to prepare for this one but I don't think it is mandatory, I think they just assume that everyone will want to update anyway. It makes sense, I can't see any advantage of the old dash over this new one.
  10. Torrents speed is virtually limitless! It's only dictated by how much bandwidth the seeders are willing to provide. I've downloaded torrents at 20MB/s before. Probably you haven't got it set up properly, or are using crappy public trackers. Unless I'm mistaken you are limited to less than 100kB/s when you are downloading from megaupload? I wouldn't have the patience to download 4+ gigs at 100kB/s. Whatever works for you folks. I never seem to be online when BP is anyway due to the 12 hour time difference or I'd make a torrent. Going by what Rob said a while back, it's likely that BP's bandwidth isn't very good, so for him to send someone over 4gigs is going to take a hell of a long time.
  11. Man, disappoint to hear this as I am hoping to see improvements on game's performance like MC:LA. Those texture loading problems are almost certainly a result of an iffy burn/media. I have an original GTA4 and a backup. The backup randomly loads roads, buildings etc when it feels like it. I installed that copy to the HDD and it plays perfectly now. I didn't spend enough time playing F3 from disc to notice any differences from HDD, though GTA is smoother and it definitely helps with Oblivion too. I'm pretty content with having 2 games installed as I thought it would only fit 1. I might not even bother with the 120GB drive now.
  12. I finally capitulated and realised I had to get off my ass and put some overtime in in work. I'm not in any debt as such but neither can I afford any luxuries. Aside from that it's been a good couple of weeks for 360 owners and I'm enjoying playing games again for a change. Especially Fallout 3, even if it isn't as good as Oblivion IMO.
  13. I installed this yesterday and it does indeed break streaming and the divx/xvid update. I didn't realise how much I would miss this until it was actually broke. Luckily I still keep my Xbox1/XBMC by my side. Really I only tried it to see how much difference playing games off the hdd would make. Not a lot.. The dash itself looks nicer and it seems a little easier to navigate but that's about it. I can't see what all the fuss was about? Maybe it's geared towards those who actually use Live and the Marketplace etc.
  14. 720p is better than 1080i, so choose 2. If you do get the small screen in the top corner then simply adjust the screen size via the options menu. Also, if you are going to change screen resolution, it is safest to do it while you are playing a game to prevent it from crashing.
  15. Give me the details and I'll help get it out there
  16. You could also use the romset from BAED3 if you have it. Or any post-0.84 romset for that matter, as long as you feed it into Romcenter or ClrMame using the CoinOps Gold dat file first.
  17. will i need the 128 xbox upgrade to play this or will it run off regular xbox? HF_ No upgrade required
  18. I don't think I've used the word 'cool' since 1988, but Spiderman : Web of Shadows is it. If you want the multiplayer then it has to be GOW2.
  19. You folks mustn't be able to handle it Vice City is still the best of the original 3 IMO anyway.
  20. As Kenshinsama said, Geometry Wars 1/2 are good for a quick blast if you like shooters. Most of the other older games I have played before and I'm not going to buy them again because I know I won't play them online. Try to stick to XBLA-only games so at least you are getting something new. I spend 99% of my points on DLC, though most of those went on Oblivion and a little on Blue Dragon.
  21. You need at least 3 posts to enable PMs now. It's just a simple anti-spam measure. It works both ways too or else I'd PM you instead.
  22. Spiderman : Web of Shadows. Turned out much better than generally the reviews would lead you to believe. I haven't even barely scratched the surface but it is really fun to play. Good stuff.
  23. Yeah of the current crop of 360 games this is the weakest. Looks nice but the solo mode isn't anything to write home about. Maybe the multiplayer is where it shines? I think I'll stick to Fable 2 / F3 / Dead Space.
  24. I think you meant to say - 'Buy a DS, emulators are illegal'. Except emulators aren't illegal
