Agozer Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 i've only played SC for a few time and when i played i beat my friend (who owns the game) so i thought it was easy. but come to think of it maybe he just suck really badHeh. You get the most out of fighting games when both players have equal skills. Besides, there's more to Soul Calibur II than just generic short combos.
Ryuken Posted April 1, 2004 Author Posted April 1, 2004 really, i didn't pay much attention to it cuz i didn't care about since it's not my game but u've just made it sound like a good game but i'll have to spend sumtime to play it to see if it's really good
Captain FuKu Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 (edited) Capcom started it all in terms of fighting games. All the more reason that it's sad how they've slacked and grown lazy over the years when it comes to their fighters. In fact, they pretty much stopped focusing on producing fighters. It's probably better that way, cuz the way they've been going, the quality has gone down in their fighters, and sloppiness has gone up. MvC2, worst music in any fighter -- who the hell puts jazz in a fighter?! The tunes in their old SFII were good though. I vote for Arc System. Yeah, it's not mainstream like Capcom (and it wasn't even included in the poll!), but currently in terms of fighters, they're off to a great start. And with Sammy as publisher, and seeing as how they've been very productive as of late in terms of fighters -- it's probable that they'll take over the reign in the fighter genre in the near future. veristic Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 SC is knowing how to use the characters respective weapons. The game is a test of knowledge, because it's mixing up yur moves, countering n overwhelming yur opponent that makes the game skillful.
Ryuken Posted April 1, 2004 Author Posted April 1, 2004 I see. but i still don't like it as a 3d game i like it cuz they use weapons.
ForceX Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 i can't name 1 but capcom's still da 2D king and SNK's game don't ever improve. almost all da KoF r da same. the only changes r char. and the layoutYou cannot say Capcom is the King of 2D when you cannot name a game to back that statement up....

Everyone of use has an opinion of which one is the best fighting game company. You say Capcom. That's fine, but other won't necessarily agree with you.

If he tells me who he thinks the best 2D fighting game making company then it's okay for him to talk but he only says Capcom's not da king but didn't say who is da king tho

But you consider Capcom the Kings of 2D...So I just wanted to know which is a recent 2D capcom release that didn't suck...

Chaotica Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 I think SNK are the best. Capcom's fighting mechanics rely too much on projectiles and shoto-ish tactics. SNK has more satisfying in your face fighting. Capcom may have started it all off with lots of great, great games, but SNK has taken over the reigns now.
Fatal Rose Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 Sega for VF 4 Evo. It’s the highest quality fighting game available right now. It is also the best fighting game ever made. Oh and lets not forget about the wildly underrated Fighting Vipers games. They’re not bad at all.
Gryph Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 i can't name 1 but capcom's still da 2D king and SNK's game don't ever improve. almost all da KoF r da same. the only changes r char. and the layoutHow many KOF's have you played? From that statement, not that many. Each KOF has something different in the gameplay department. If what you say is true, then all Street Fighters are the same. And they don't really change the characters. And KOF isn't the only SNK franchise. There's Last Blade, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, other ones that aren't good (but they didn't make them so its ok). The last good Capcom fighting game was Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. That last good SNK fighting game was KOF2002, KOF2000, Garou, Last Blade 2, and to a tiny extent KOF2003 and Sam Sho 5. And Cervantes owns all! That's why Soul Caliber is my favorite 3D fighter. I enjoy Soul Caliber's weapon system though matches can end extremely quickly. I never liked Tekken and especially disliked Tekken Tag and Tekken 4. A round lasted like 10 seconds and it pissed me off... but that's my fault not the games. And what's all this talk about Street Fighter 4? When was this announced? Or is this pure speculation?
