  1. THANK YOU LORD, SHOW THE TRUTH UNTO US!! Omg i've always said that n rarely find anyone that agrees with me. Good stuff. Oh man, u played Xenosaga BEFORE Xenogears? I would've recommended otherwise. Xenogears is the ultimate. Believe it or not, there are people out there who aren't as hyped about FFVII as the mainstream public. Very few, but they're out there. As for Xenogears: Yeah, I've heard it was much better than Xenosaga. But that's one of the reason why I played Xenosaga first. Didn't want to start comparing and end up dissapointed. Besides, we've only played episode one of Xenosaga, and in the long run, it may measure up to Xenogears. Yep, I'm optimistic about it.
  2. Capcom started it all in terms of fighting games. All the more reason that it's sad how they've slacked and grown lazy over the years when it comes to their fighters. In fact, they pretty much stopped focusing on producing fighters. It's probably better that way, cuz the way they've been going, the quality has gone down in their fighters, and sloppiness has gone up. MvC2, worst music in any fighter -- who the hell puts jazz in a fighter?! The tunes in their old SFII were good though. I vote for Arc System. Yeah, it's not mainstream like Capcom (and it wasn't even included in the poll!), but currently in terms of fighters, they're off to a great start. And with Sammy as publisher, and seeing as how they've been very productive as of late in terms of fighters -- it's probable that they'll take over the reign in the fighter genre in the near future.
  3. Xenosaga was pretty good considering it was only episode 1. I think FFVII is really overrated though. Also plan on playing Xenogears, but haven't had the time. Shadow Hearts looked interesting but never had a chance to play it. And Vagrant Story also grabbed my interest, but then I've heard that the game incorporated "box puzzles" throughout. I hate puzzles. I'm ranting so...
  4. Guilty Gear XX. The only fighting game I'm currently practicing seriously at. Also plan on going to Evo 2k4, and hopefully make some money.
  5. I've already mentioned the Grizzly vs. Tiger on the 1st page. Already happened a year or two ago -- supposedly. The Japanese set up the whole thing, and in the end, I heard the Grizzly won. If only I could find an article...
  6. Springbreak for me = overrated. It wouldn't be, if only I could just escape from all responsiblities and work. But if I did, I'd probably become homeless. Wonderful. Yeah, I often wish I could be a little kid again.
  7. Don't know about Lion vs. Tiger, but Tiger vs. Grizzly Bear... Yup, I've heard that this had actually been done in Japan. Think this was a year or two ago, and they just stuck the two into a cage until the bear supposedly won (i.e. killed the tiger). Wish I could find an article on it... Maybe when I'm finished with these flockin' midterms. Edit note: Damn these censors. LOL
  8. I see... Thanks for all the hard work guys. *thumbsup*
  9. Yeah, I've also noticed that a couple of my posts have disappeared -- one from this thread, and one from another thread. Maybe more, but I haven't checked. Alright mods., what's going on?
  10. LOL Alright, based on some of the replies, I can tell that at least one or two of you are members (or lurk) at sosuave. (For those who've no clue what I'm talking about, it's no biggie -- just an inside sorta thing.) To the thread starter: I'm not here to personally give advice in these sort of things -- I've put it behind me long ago. However feel free to check out the link provided at the end of this post. It's absolutely free, but I warn you that the members there are not friendly towards answering questions which had been repeatedly asked. So you must read the faq and what they call TFM ("the fornication materials"), before participating in their forums -- or be prepared to get flamed. Personaly however, I'd advise you to not pay too much attention to TFM -- it's heavily outdated and the new one should be ready whenevers. The archieved posts are more worthwhile. Alphahot1's archieve, I'd definitely recommend as essential. Important thing is to know and get a general understanding of the various (there's quite a bit) acronyms. There's a *ton* of info to digest and will likely overwhelm you -- take it slow. It's a no nonsense site, but in order to benefit at all, you can't be passive, but must have the balls to go out in the field and work. N00bs on such sites fear the info may become mainstream -- they learn it's all for naught later on. I don't care for hoarding information, and I don't care for such topics as "how to pick up", relationships, etc. anymore. I used to post there (different name) years back, and moved beyond its usefulness. Still, to you or anyone else truly interested when it comes to the topic of women, use it for what you will -- or just ignore this post altogether. And that's all I'll say on this topic. www.fastseduction.com
  11. How old are you? I always see you spamming the boards with these movie topics. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you always write like a sentence and...that's it. No content, nothing. Kinda irksome, that's all.
  12. Damn, I'm on dailup. I wish there was an option to read a transcript of the interview. Oh well. It's good news either way.
  13. LOL And I thought this thread would be some tutorial on the components of memory cards or something like that.
  14. DC's SF:TS is arcade perfect? Are you sure? Because I've always heard otherwise from members of SRK. Anyhow, I just hope that if this happens, it's not in Japan only -- like how many games are -- and hopefully, this game makes it to the PS2 off-shores.
  15. Scrubs normally don't challenge you if you're at least half decent, so I normally don't get comments like others mentioned. But occasionally some scrubs are delusional and think they're hot stuff, and when they lose, I get some comment on how such-and-such is "so cheesy", or that I only win because I do "so-and-so" over and over again. Well, since they keep falling for it repeatly, I might as well keep doing what I'm doing over and over, cuz obviously they're not learning from their mistakes -- they just can't seem to adapt to different situations. But most often they just get angry and storm off, or they get angry and keep challenging you until they feel they've wasted enough money. One guy at my arcade never challenges anyone, but only plays the computer. This guy is amazing...he swears and starts pounding on the controls if he even remotely starts losing -- which is like every five seconds or so. He's a scrub who never learns, who always gets furious over losing to the computer, and ultimately the buttons are always in need of repairs because of this f*#$er. At least he knows his place and doesn't bother to challenge people.
  16. Do we know for sure if LucasArts is even going to see the petition? I dunno, but I think maybe sending them a letter or something along those lines will have a far greater impact than some online petition. (There's petitions for just about everything imaginable.) I think it'll be more persuasive -- as well as personal -- if the fans would each send a letter. Just a thought. Still, futile as is, I signed it anyway.
  17. 1) shoryuken.com fighting game site (mostly capcom). Spend most of my time browsing the strat sections. The Evo DVD is also very cool if you order it -- watch it and learn; cuz that's how fighting games are supposed to be played. 2) gamecombos.com another fighting game site, but mainly Guilty Gear related. You can also try and get in contact with other serious players in your area and participate in tournaments. 3) xgam.org Basically a site dedicated to Xenogears and Xenosaga. Pretty good. I use separate usernames for each of those sites, cuz that's what I like.
  18. Sure I button mash........while I was in the 5th grade! LOL Anyhow, I'll see if I can get some of my friends to record some matches next time I enter a tourney, then I gotta somehow get those up. :/
  19. I give him a year at the most before he is forgotten.
  20. Hidden messages, phallic symbols, sexual innuendo...Sigmund Freud (sp) would have been a game junkie.
  21. Tai Mai Shoe (or however you spell it).... that guy's funny. LOL
  22. Well, I'm also a college student. But the tuition and textbooks are overcharged (I'm guessing it's the same for elsewhere), so I'd like get an academic scholarship. I don't thinks it's impossible since I've already got a invitational since I started attending a year ago.
  23. Here's your change, 98 cents. Have a nice day! I hope you didn't say this out of anger. You've hurt my feelings. I'm very sensitive. Back to topic, SF: 3rd Strike has a very cool announcer at the start of each round. Yeah...not music related, but had to throw that out. And I'll start throwing out yens or whatever if that makes some of you happy. Guess my american dollar isn't good enough!
  24. Just curious, what are they trying to sell? Tickets? Converts? Yeah, I'll probably watch this movie........on DVD rental! Cuz to me, it seems more DVD rental material than a drag-my-ass-to-theatre-to-watch film.
