  1. madienmasher: Aren't you in Texas? Are there alot of folks like this in Texas? No offense really, but curious.
  2. There's a slightly recent movie out called Time somthing -- I forgot the title, but it has the word "time" in it. It's about a group of archeologists (sp?) who travel back to the dark ages to bring back one of their team member who got stuck there. I don't know if that helps... Anyway, there's a scene toward the end where this French dude crawls through a caved-in rubble in some tunnel. The stupid thing is that one of the supposed solid rocks from the rubble is so blatently obvious that it's a Styrofoam. The French dude as he's crawling through the rubble of rocks, brushes against one of these supposed heavy solid rocks......and well, if you see it, you can't miss it; it's so obvious that it's just a cheap Styrofoam. What surprises me is that the producers didn't catch something so obvious, and considering this movie came out less than a year ago, it is pathetic.
  3. Meh, it's alright. Lots of sea food and I don't really like sea food very much. So if you like sea food and huge stews, you'll like the food here. I never liked gumbo or jambalaya or any of that stuff. Nah, I don't much like seafoods myself -- except maybe shrimp and lobster. Thanks for the info. On a different note: Yeah, gotta get away from our folks. Time to decide whether you'll live their life and their dreams, or whether you separate and start finding what you want on your own.
  4. That kid's got some moves! Ray Park (or whatever his name is) has some competition, it seems.
  5. Alright, once again, I'm asking, "Who the hell's this Star Wars kid?"
  6. I heard Louisiana's got some good food. Confirm? Anyway, Japan would be cool just for the arcade competitions and seeing how they get all the games first. Trouble is, I don't speak Japanese and I hate large crowds -- I need space. Or maybe somewhere up in the mountains or a deserted island where I can get away from civilization for a bit.
  7. To be very frank, I'm probably one of the world's best procrastinators. It's just that so many of the required courses we need to take are so pointless, and I can't help feeling trapped into doing something while every fiber of my being cries out "NO!!" I hate it so much that often it seems like someone needs to be right next to me and hold me up at gunpoint before I get started. Or at other times, I read some of my textbooks and feel like just shooting myself. Still, I get it done in the end; and believe it or not, I'm pretty much an honor student. It's just that I really hate it all... I can feel myself suffocating just at the thought of all these trivial assignments I'm given. Enough rant. Back to work. Yay!! Edit: Grammer error. It's late here.
  8. There's everything for dummies now -- equal opportunity, no? Good luck to everyone on their assignments and whatnot. And those of you who are through with the finals, enjoy it while it lasts. lol Agozer: Are you in law school or thinking about it?
  9. I thought about making this thread just the other night...don't know why I didn't. Anyway, I usually stay up till 4 A.M. or a bit later before going to bed -- this is on any day, not just on weekends. Now that I've got finals and all, I'm usually doing some schoolwork before I crash. :/
  10. This one's easy: Family Guy.
  11. I have a Geography exam later on today -- and it's cumulative (WTF?!), so it's taking longer to study than the previous ones. AKLFJkllla!!!!!!!!!! I swear, after this Wednesday, I'm going all out -- I'm gonna enjoy every second of being free from school....until summer school. LOL Fricking hell! I want out of this prison that is society!!
  12. What?! So you all like porn stars; and so far I'm the only one here who likes Katie Holmes? Impossible...mind...cannot...concieve... Carry on.
  13. That song by Aliayah (or however you spell it) that went like, "Dust yourself off and try again...[try again]x10 really annoyed the f*ck outta me at one point. Uh...I know there's others but can't recall at the moment.
  14. I don't even use instant messaging anymore, let alone online dating. Better in person -- that way, they can't decieve you as easily.
  15. SRK is good for info on CvS2, SF3:TS, and MvC2, but other than that they tend to be biased toward Capcom games (it's a SF site afterall) and many people love to get into flame wars. Entertaining to lurk around once in a while though; and it can be a good place to get in touch with some of the country's top players. Anyway, I enjoyed reading your account on the tournaments. 25-30 people are a hell of a lot of folks to be competing in GGXX (especially considering this isn't Japan). I always sign up for the local GGXX tourney here, but it has a bad habit of getting canceled. We struggle to even get eight players to attend; and sometimes they'd sign up but not even show up! For such a small base of players, a number of them play at a very high level though and it's always fun to play against them.
  16. When it comes to video games, I'm so used to feeling cheated out, I'm not surprised anymore. In fact, since I don't live in Japan, I make it a point to expect to get the lesser deal.
  17. I'm with Agozer on this; I don't discriminate when it comes to music -- except probably country. As long as the song has a nice beat, sound, whatever to it, it's fine with me. Edit note: I just remembered, I don't think I've ever heard a Jazz music that I'd liked -- I dunno, they're just very long and sounds very whiney to me.
  18. Yeah, I agree it's a stupid name. I never really cared for the Star Wars films, but I may just see it for curiosity. And who's this "Star Wars kid"?
  19. Probably in a bar or some setting where there's alot of chairs, tables, bottles, basically anything I can use as a shield and throw around. Otherwise, if I can't interact with the background, what does it matter what background I'm in? If I can't grab objects from the background, then I don't really care what setting I'm in.
  20. 4 lightsabers!?!? what is that? lucas: "this guy has to be really bad, like worse than maul." some lacky: "I know! lets give him 4 lightsabers! then he'd be twice as bad as darth maul!" lucas: "no that sux. I have a better idea. we give him 4 lightsabers!!!!" some lacky: "great idea boss!!!!!1111!1" sounds hella lame to me. then again i haven't liked a SW movie since empire strikes back. and I was like 10 when I saw that. Anyhow, the new villian is named General Grievous. Supposedly a general of a droid army and a "Jedi Killer." There's some brief quotes in the link. If you want more pics, you may be able to find some if you browse around the site -- I don't know, I don't hang out there. http://www.theforce.net/episode3/jtf/generalgrievous.shtml
  21. I just knew there'd be a topic about this. Ya know, the day the last ep. aired, my local news channel (instead of doing proper news reporting!) did a "Friends Farewell Special"! The mainstream media is a bunch of sellouts (for obvious reasons of profit). Now regarding the supposed diehard "fans" of Friends, I'm sure there're some quirky people out there who genuinely likes this show (nothing wrong with that) but there are way too many people who do not have a mind of there own and simply care only of jumping on the bandwagon so they're not ostracized by their peers -- and that's f*cking lame. And really, it's because so many people are followers that this show is so popular. I think of Friends as a sitcom soup opera catered to chicks, just like how chick flicks cater to the general interest of chicks. Sorry but I never found the show's "humor" to be funny at all. Also, a million for each ep. of the show for each of the cast members just shows you that these people are just milking it for all its worth -- it's fricking ridiculous. Is it over yet? It is? Finally. *sigh* Sorry, just had to get that out.
  22. I wouldn't call it a crush but I'd say Katie Holmes. Don't care about Dawson's Creek and whatever movies she was in, I just like the face. LOL BoA is overated IMO. Hyo-ri Lee (or however you spell it) is much better, I think. In terms of old school ( ), perhaps Natalie Wood. That's about it really. Yeah, it's not often I drool over a chick.
  23. Depends how badly I want the game. Otherwise, I just wait for it to get down to $30 or below or I may just lose interest in getting the game at all.
  24. Those supposed pictures of Anakin, if they're real, how will they keep this movie still PG-13? I wonder... Anyhow, I think I'm more interested in seeing the new villian with the four lightsabers -- it'll either turn out super cool or very lame.
  25. As already mentioned: winning = fun, but probably the most important thing is to continously learn and improve. If I wanted to play a game for just "fun" and *without* the competition involved, I wouldn't play a fighting game. Otherwise, it kinda defeats the purpose and nature of a fighting game.
