1. I'd suggest to drop by ubuntuforums as well, there's a lot of passion and competence there for engine recreations (like tux0r's pokemon one). Are there online ressources about the project that can be browsed?
2. Out of curiosity, what was the db issue of these 2 days about? (I take there has been no data loss)
3. Its understandable one single shoulder cant lift mountains, but there are many of the willing who seem capable enough of offloading with as much as they could (like decreasing the burden of news from robert), updating the old dark them in case it needs to be, and overall just the usual routine.
4. ePSXe 1.8.0 released. Get if here. Source: Welcome to the official ePSXe site
5. Wouldn't hold my breath. No wonder the making is slow to a literal standstill, without public feedback (a common motivational factor, plus the old 'given enough eyes, all bugs are shallow'). In all justice, it might be wise to publish the 1.6 source, and have pj64-'based' emus update their codebase from since 1.4 , especially if 1.7 is not even in a usable state. Could be fun to see which branch would improve faster and more significantly.
6. Share updates, with screenshots and videos, thrill will follow.
7. Use linux, consider photorec-ing whatever you can. Depending on the type of damage, you could maybe replace some mechanical parts, though it shouldnt be anything more than patchwork to get as much as your data out as you can. Let's be real, anything like that isn't critical, especially as its easily 'replacable' (unless watching HD anime was an emergency of course).
8. This is bananas. What about pussies ?
9. Likely music, extras, extra game modes (SFA3 has a 'World Tour mode' I believe).
10. Details here http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html Nick Simmons is KISS bassist Gene Simmons' son. Deviantart page here (from 20000 pageviews to 20000 in 2 days. Turning 'famous'). http://letsleepinggodslie.deviantart.com/ Pics speak well enough, and no comments needed, I presume. Only a master would talk himself out of this one.
11. Adding some timeless ones. - Breath of Fire 4 - Final Fantasy Tactics (strategy rpg) - Final Fantasy 8 - Vandal Hearts 1 & 2 (strategy rpg) - Gran Turismo 2 - Koudelka (a resident-evil-like from Squaresoft) - Saga Frontier 2 - Soul Edge (fighting game with bladez)
12. Nope, still alive. I'll add BOS and S.W.I.N.E. BOS http://www.boswars.org/
13. You're surprised romsites push malware onto visitors ? If it sounds even a bit shady, consider it is, and evacuate to greener plains.
14. I remember it. Blanking on the url though. Edit: found it. MySites.com . It has a facebook page now. http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28157
15. v3 being more ressource-straining than v2, I wouldnt expect an update too soon, given how radically changed from v2 and the possibly still unforgotten pains of the previous updates. That and there's no forum attack ssytem or arcade for v3. Yet.
16. I'd say try Gens/GS, its been -much- improved compared to Gens. http://info.sonicretro.org/Gens/GS
17. vB4 can be disqualified in advance IMO. The CMS pushes queries like its running on a cluster (+200 queries!)
18. these 3 are warm recommendations.<br /><br />- XSI SoftImage has a free edition. Good one to make mods for Valve games.<br /><br />- Houdini apprentice edition (fetches a free licence from their site).<br /><br />- Vue 7 has a free &quot;Personal Learning Edition&quot; edition.
http://www.e-onsoftware.com/try/vue_7_ple/

Edit: the hell with the RTE when editing posts ? Reposted as it should display: these 3 are warm recommendations. - XSI SoftImage has a free edition. Good one to make mods for Valve games. - Houdini apprentice edition (fetches a free licence from their site). - Vue 7 has a free 'Personal Learning Edition'. http://www.e-onsoftware.com/try/vue_7_ple/
19. I would advise against an upgrade till mods and theming are resolved at least (no forum attack system, arcade mods or 1emu theme ready in advance for instance). It's also heavier in load (recently, Neowin updated to v3, and found itself with huge load regardless of how they tried reducing it, to the point of considering switching back to v2.3 . Nothing that cant be fixed of course).
20. Activity volume in that section does not seem to warrant separation, as all inquires related to DS emulation/DS emulators fit well in the root of the DS emulation section, as mentioned previously. The same logic applies for other emulators, unless either officially hosted or activity volume related warrants it.
21. You'll survive this radical change: no more hunting for apps on the net, all fetchable from secure large repositories.
22. How are the system requirements and compatibility ? I hardly recollect ever trying Saturn games on PC, with the huge gap between ps1 and saturn emulation.
23. It couldve only been the work of aliens. More realistically, DCemu's been coincidentally moving to new servers, though I hardly see a real relation (maybe if PDroms was hosted on DCemu's webspace...). http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=259246 Edit: ...mmh, seems it wasnt that.
24. Forcing people to buy DLC/downloadable content is pretty much a ripoff. They couldve at least realized how much MMORPG gamers get gouged already, with all the downloadable updates and monthly subscriptions. If anything, its MMOs that are more definite cash cows, not FPS games.
