  1. You could say that about just about anything. But some of us want to play it now. You could wait till the games you wanted were in the bargain bin or value titles, you could wait till a movie you wanted to rent was in the 99 cent section of the video store, you could buy all your cars at year end sales or used, you could buy video cards for your PC when they are a generation old, etc, etc, etc... but what hell fun it that? Sometimes it's nice to enjoy things when they are still brand new to everyone. Yeah, you pay more, but you also get to play it for a few months while those waiting for the price drop just wait. Anyway, I just used some stock options (that were about to expire) I had from a company I no longer work for and the profit paid for everything with cash left over... so why not?
  2. And? It's a portable system, it doesn't have controller ports. Guess what, you also need 4 systems whereas on the PS2 you would just need one. You just don't seem to even understand the portable market. This is not something that is exclusive to the PSP by any means. Most GB multiplayer games have worked this way for years. I'm sure they could make the game load wirelessly into the other PSPs and I bet some games will work that way.... but just how fast do you think wireless B is? If it's a game that requires a fair amount of regular loading then there is going to be massive load times involved with sending the information to 3 other systems. Oh yeah, and this would only work with 4 PSPs in the same room, forget about internet play. You would be waiting hours for a level to load. Again, I just hear more arguments that make no logical sense whatsoever. P.S. Untold Legends is a $40 game, not $50. Somebody might be able to make some sort of link cable to load games, but I doubt it would do all that well. Link cables have never been very popular items on any system. Sure, a few people here and there make regular use of them, but most do not. And somehow I can't really see most of the PSP's target audience being that types that are going to huddle around in a circle with with PSPs and a link cable. You would wind up with a bunch of non-technically savvy people complaining and wondering why they can't do the same thing over a wireless connection.
  3. OK, but your still stretching the facts to make your point. Most of the PSP games are $40, not $50... the same price as many of the DS games. BTW, take a look at list of DS games and you will find that there are a few $50 games. For years people have been paying $20 - $30 for what were in reality tiny GB/GBA games. We are talking about games that amount to 1-4 MB ROMS in most cases. Sorry, but I just don't see the gripe with game prices when the GB games have been a bigger rip off for many years... and save me the bargain bin BS, K'dash. The same will apply to PSP games after it has been out for a while. Also (not addressing you specifically), you people keep acting like all the games are exact ports of PS2 games. WTF?? That's not the case at all. I'm getting two games on launch day... Twisted Metal: Head On and Wipeout Pure. Both come from a series of games that has been on consoles, but neither is port. No more so than the new Metroid DS game is a port of the Cube Metroid games. Also, you people talking about why would you buy a game on the PSP when you could get a the same game on the PS2 are making no sense AT ALL. You would buy a game, ANY GAME, for the PSP for the exact same damn reason you would buy a game on any portable... because you want to play the given game in a portable form... port or not has exactly nothing to do with it. You are criticizing the PSP for being capable of games nearly as good as their console counterparts while the DS gets off for free because it can't. Makes no sense at all
  4. Meh.. a lot of whining about prices again. I'm not sure what you people were expecting. Why should games be cheaper just because they are on a portable system? Considering the power of the PSP, its portable games are going to have development cost similar to console games. So the price should be no suprise. And I'm looking at the game prices and see that most are $40 USD with a few being $50. Then I look over at DS games and see that most games are also $40 USD. So WTF? Take a look back at the GBA where many of the best games were games that came out 10 - 20 YEARS ago on the NES and SNES and cost $20-30 USD. So which is really a bigger rip off? Many of you are just biased to the point of ignorance.
  5. Hmm... I hope the sources are released. Too many versions of FBAX around now. I plan to stick with +T+'s version because I'm not going to run multiple instances of FBA and I'm not going back to outdated ROMS.
  6. Thanks +T+! I didn't really care to have to maintain duplicate ROMS for each emu. Did you update, or plan to update, any of the CPS games? Your Pro set has most of the CPS2 games renamed (the internal ROM files) to match changes in the MAME sets. MAMEdOX is still using the older ROM names.
  7. OK, first, we aren't allowed to request ROMS on the forum. This is to keep 1Emulation out of any legal hot water. You may want to hit the newsgroups if you need files. Second, you need to learn to use either RomCenter or CLR MAME Pro. FBAXXX Pro comes with two DAT files... one for each program. So what I recommend you do is go download RomCenter and then load the RomCenter DAT included with Pro into the program. You can then use the program to scan your ROMS on your PC and it will use the information in the DAT to tell you if you are missing any files for your ROMS. This will save you the trouble of loading ROMS onto your XBox before you know if they even work. Third, looking at the list of files you mentioned it appears that you do not have a complete "neogeo.zip" file. Many of the files you listed are BIOS files that are normally stored in the neogeo.zip file.
  8. ffff0504, I think.
  9. A - Arctic (MUD) B - Bonk's Adventure (series) C - Critical Depth D - Diablo II LoD E - Einhander F - Final Fantasy II (US) G - GTA (series) H - Halo I - Ikari Warriors (series) J - Jak & Daxter (series) K - King of Fighters L - Legend of Zelda (series) M - Metal Slug (series) N - NBA Live (series) O - Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath P - Phantasy Star (series) Q - Quake (series) R - Ratchet & Clank (series) S - Super Metroid T - Twisted Metal (1,2, Black) U - Unreal Tournament (series) V - Vigilante 8 W - Wild Arms X - Xenogears Y - Yoshi's Island Z - Zone of Enders Agreed. Some letters I had a hard time even coming up with a game I liked and others, like 'S', had a whole lot of games I liked.
  10. Which m1 are you using now? I don't remember which file was used in the previous version. Also, is this something that will be fixed in 1.2?
  11. There appears to be an error with samsh5sp. The DATS say that the m1d file should be 128 KB, but the m1 with the correct CRC is actually 512 KB.
  12. I liked Dark City too, but I think I need to go watch it again to decide which I actually like better.
  13. Have to disagree. I thought the 1st Matrix movie was fantastic. The sequels weren't so hot, but that really doesn't change the fact that the first one was good.
  14. I am a bit surprised they stuck with standard DVDs, but I'm sure it won't matter. The vast majority of XBox games only take up a single layer on a DVD... most range from about 1.5 - 4 GB.
  15. Well, it could be some of the files from the neogeo.zip, but chances are that you are missing the correct files in the games themselves. MAMEdOX comes with DAT files that you can use to check your ROMS. It will tell you what files you are missing or need to be renamed. I'd recommend downloading RomCenter and using the RomCenter DAT. RomCenter is much more user friendly than CLRMAMEPRo if you haven't used such a program before.
  16. OK, did you add the ROMS before or after you started MAMEdOX for the first time? If it was after, did you re-scan for ROM? Hit start while at the ROM list screen and select "Scan for ROMS". Also, is your "roms" folder in the root MAMEdOX install directory?
  17. OK, it works fine for me. So you must have an outdated version of Winzip. So instead, download this file: Gamepad Download the file, make a folder called "Media" in your FBAXXX Pro directory and place that file in that folder. Also, just FYI, the version of WinZip I'm using is 9.0 SR-1 (6224).
  18. It looks like +T+ forgot to include the "Media" folder in the download. Download this file, unzip it, and place it in your FBAXXX Pro directory: Media Folder
  19. Here is just one example: http://cube.ign.com/articles/090/090281p1.html This has been going on for many years. Companies are always moving launch dates of games and hardware around to compete, or sometimes avoid competition, from other companies' hardware or software. Companies also like to time big announcements to draw attention away from other companies' announcements or hardware/software launches.
  20. This practice has been around long before MS entered the console market. Doubt it.
  21. Just put them on my site.
  22. Please... not a handheld? Are you blind? That's exactly what it is. And, yes, the DS and PSP are in the same market. The PSP may have a more upscale target audience, but they are clearly in the same market. Most people considering purchasing one will take a look at the other too. That's not difficult to see.
  23. No, it won't be anything like the PSP. It will be $99 just like the article says. The DS is meant to compete with the PSP. This new GB, which is a mistake IMO, is meant to be a cheaper handheld for a different audience.
  24. http://www.mame.net/gamelist.html According to the official MAME game list that game doesn't work in MAME even in the current 0.93 version.
  25. I'm getting the same thing.
