It is. For some reason the game is 1st person when you are back in your room, but 3rd person when anywhere else.

Is there any way to change the control scheme in SH4? I hate the first person view when you are in your room because there is no way to invert the Y-axis from what I have seen. That pretty much sucks.

I know is might be a bit tedious, but can you tell us exactly what files out of each ROM you need? Just tell us which file and what the CRC is. We can likely help you out pretty quickly if you give us this information.

Which version of FBAXXX are you using... MAME dump or standard? FBAXXX has some errors to begin with. For example, matrimnd has glitched audio in the MAME dump even if you have a perfect set according to the DAT (the drivers are screwed up). 3countb (on your list) does not match the official MAME set in the MAME dump of FBAXXX. I have a perfect MAME 3countb ROM, yet the graphics are glitched in the MAME dump of FBAXXX.... it plays perfectly in MAMEoX. Anyway, if you are using the MAME version I may be able to help you out with some of those.

I think the competition could be good for the arcades. Let's face it, arcades are all but dead in many places now. But something like this might get more people into the arcades to try out their skills against human opponents.

Nah, it will still be there. Except now it will be the people who thought they were bad asses at the arcade getting their asses handed to them by kids with controllers. Just watch, this is exactly what will happen. Most people aren't all that great with sticks because they don't spends hordes of time in arcades. So those that are good with sticks tend to think they are better than they actually are. I can't even count the number of times I've watched someone at an arcade whipping people and been thinking to myself, "I could easily beat this guy with a controller".

I kind of doubt if we will see that happen. The Xboyadvance emulator seems pretty taxed running GBA games, so I would guess that running a split screen would just be too slow to be enjoyable.

That could be viewed as a plus for the controller ports... even if the sticks get worn down you can always bring a PS2 pad or stick.

Hmm... macros could be an issue. I guess if I was going to play at the arcade I would insist that my opponent either use a stick or controller without macros.

I would argue that if someone is using a turbo then they are a button masher anyway. A skilled player would still take them down. WTF would you do something like that? It just makes you look like you can't handle the competition. I mean, what if the guy just has a normal controller with no turbos? And yeah, you would be paying me back.

How could it be anything but good? It's not like they have taken away the sticks. If you prefer the stick, then nothing changes for you... unless you fear a bit more competition.

Are you just trying to get all the ROMS working? Because I have the decrypted version working fine on MAME.

The PS2 has had a version of the PSOne CPU in it's chipset since from the start.

Which version of FBAXXX are you using (default or MAME)?

First, did you enable the new sets in the fbaxxx.ini file? After you have run FBAXXX once, FTP into your XBox and find that ini file in the "ini" folder. Look for a line that says: bDisableLocked 1 Change the '1' to a '0' and that will enable the new sets. Now, do you plan to use RomCenter or ClrMAMEPro to check your ROMS? FBAXXX creates DATS for those when youlaunch it for the first time, but the first time you launch it you do not have the new sets anabled so they do not appear in the DATS. You need to FTP to you XBox and delete the DATS it created. Then restart FBAXXX after you have also enabled the new sets and it will make new DATS... these DATS will include information for the new sets.

There could still be a loophole if they make it backward compatible and/or play DVD movies. The thing will obviously be networkable, so you may end up seeing a situation like you have with the XBox now. PC DVD drives can't read and rip XBox games, but you rip the games by having the XBox do the ripping itself and send the files over a network to your PC. Then if it can read DVD movies or PS2 games, it may be possible to burn the games to a DVD and play them on the PS3. Now if the games are huge it may still impossible, but I bet many will fit on dual-layer DVDs and dual layer burners will be everywhere by then.

Oh man, that sucks. Fortunately I haven't had any such problems with my ISP.

I'd like that... I'm still in need of MSlug4 and Matrimelee. At this point I'll take working version for either the MAME dump or standard version of FBAXXX.

I like that idea the best. Just put a bunch of crude stuff in the profile and maybe include a note (in their profile) that this is what happens when you leave you account logged on in a computer lab. This way they will hopefully learn their lesson and you won't feel any guilt over deleting their stuff.

Any idea why neopong doesn't work in FBAXXX? It works fine in KawaX.
