  1. Yup, that's the one. I couldn't find the CRC Bender's version wanted anywhere... but I found the CRC you just listed over and over.
  2. So can I make a request then? Can you update the cthd2k3n that Bender added? The P2 ROM that it needs is virtually impossible to find. I think it's just very outdated. I have searched dozens of cthd ROMS and they all had one of 2 CRCs for the P2 ROMS... and neither was the one Bender added.
  3. BIOS Comparison Table XBox Version
  4. I use good old reliable Xecuter 4981. There is a 4983, but you can't edit the BIOS using XBTool so I have stuck with 4981... there is no functional difference between the two anyway. The BIOS Sammaz refers to has it's own fans, but I've not used it since I have never had a need to use anything other the Xecuter BIOS I'm currently using since it has never failed me. So I can't really comment on it's reliability. But I do know it has a of features that allow you to do things like edit the boot up animation and such. You can read about it here: ind-bios.org The other main BIOS (not counting the Xecuter 3 BIOS which can only be used with Xecuter 3 chips) is the Evox M8 BIOS. In my opinion, if you don't want anything fancy, I'd just go with a Xecuter 4981. If you feel like changing up the the opening animation then go with the ind-bios. BUT, make sure you get a copy the the current BETA. The official 5003 version has a power off bug. It is supposed to have a feature where pressing both triggers + back + white will power off the XBox, but it doesn't work correctly and will power off just by pressing back + white. So if you use MAMEoX and are used to hitting back + white to bring up the config menu then you will end up powering off your XBox all the time. This is supposed to be fixed in the current beta. Oh yeah, how new is your XBox? If you have a version 1.6 then your only option is the M8 since the X2 and iND BIOS' do not support version 1.6 as of this time.
  5. Well, if MAMEoX works then I don't know why Bender's version wouldn't work. Did you delete the game save for MAMEoX before trying to run Bender's?
  6. Hmm... What happens when you try to run Bender's MAMEoX?
  7. You could always play the game on MAMEoX.
  8. Think of the BIOS as the XBox operating system. It basically controls what the XBox can and cannot do. When you start an XBox with no mods it boots up the original BIOS that is stored on a chip inside the XBox and all you can really do is play original XBox games, DVDs, and music CDs. When you mod an XBox and load a non-original BIOS you can do all those things plus play burned games, play games off the HDD, load non-official XBox software (like emulators), FTP, etc... The XBox had the hardware to do all that before being modded, but it's the new BIOS that actually allows it to do that. Yes, in most cases you can change your BIOS. It depends on what sort of mod you are using as to how you go about doing it. I think nearly every BIOS supports multiple regions... I've not used one that didn't.
  9. You still have access to my webspace so feel free to put it out there if you want.
  10. I looked at your SFA3 and all the CRCs matched my set. The only difference was your set is actually two ROMS combined into one. Your SFA3 contained files that were in my SFA3 + SFA3B. Have you played the game recently? It doesn't play bad or anything, but the sound will sometimes skip and repeat. Especially the announcer. Sometime he will say something and the sound will skip and he will say it twice, almost like an echo. The music also seems to slow down at times. One other non-related question... will MAMEoX refuse to load a game if a file has a CRC that it doesn't expect or will it try to load it anyway?
  11. I have run into a problem with a CPS2 game. Street Fighter Alpha 3. I've always played it in FBAXXX before, but I recently tried it in MAMEoX and found that the sound tends to skip at times. For the most part it runs fine, but not as well as FBAXXX. My ROM set is perfect. It came straight from a MAME v90 set (same ROM as v84 anyway) and I've verified it against a CPS2 DAT from CPS2shock. So is this just an issue with MAMEoX or is something else going on here?
  12. Look here: Official MAME Game List Scroll down to the start of the D's and find DJ Boy. The first column after the game name indicates whether or not the game is working in MAME. DJ Boy is listed as "No" even in the current MAME v.91.
  13. So do we just add those XOR tables to the sets you mentioned, or drop them into the ROMS folder as they are?
  14. Seems like a stupid name. I hope that number has some sort of meaning behind it. It may seem more acceptable if they have a good reason for using it.
  15. Funny coming from the person who earlier stated that you wouldn't STFU. Anyway, here are some links where people are discussing worldwide sales numbers: Thread #1 Thread #2 Including this quote: And seriously, calm down. You said handhelds sell "tenfolds" more than consoles when Gryphon asked. I disagreed. So WTF is the problem? Should I just allow you to spread info I don't think it accurate? Grow up man.
  16. Blah, blah... and where is this source? Got any links? Google around... the numbers I've posted are pretty accurate.
  17. I'd recommend getting the rotd ROM for Bender's MAMEoX. It runs the game fine.
  18. I don't think that's correct. You have any hard numbers? Look here: Weekly Chart The PS2 is outselling the GBA/SP by a lot. Granted, the DS is out now, but it is outselling that too. [edit] All the numbers I'm finding put the PS2 around 81 millions units worldwide and the GBA/SP at around 65 million worldwide.
  19. The problem with those numbers is Nintendo likes to add everything from the GB up through the SP together and count it as one system... which it's not. I'm not sure the GBA/SP has actually sold that many.
  20. Nah... handhelds don't outsell the PS2. But I think the GBA has outsold the GC and XBox. [edit] Actually, the PSP is outselling the PS2 on a weekly basis at the moment and the DS probably does on some weeks, but that's not surprising considering the how much earlier they are into their life cycles.
  21. Never been much of a bargain shopper. But that still doesn't solve my desire for something more.
  22. And that's only your opinion. I'm personally exicted about the PSP. Yeah, I've got a GBA, but I find it rather boring. I don't think I've even turned the thing on in over a year. I love how people complain about the price of the PSP while getting gouged by Nintendo on the price of GBA games. Seriously, many of the best games are just NES or SNES ports for which they expect you to pay $20-30+ USD. I'm ready for some more modern games that I can play on a portable machine. Yeah, I love the old school games, else why would I even be here? But I just love games in general and want something more in the portable market. I'm hoping that the PSP is going be what I want. If you don't like the games, that's cool with me. But there are a few that I'm very interested in.
  23. Blah, blah... spare me. I'm entitled to my opinion so kindly STFU.
  24. There's hardly 15 games worth owning on the GBA, IMO. So you can keep your 500
