I have dled MAME32KPLUSwithKOF2003.rar and MAME32PLUSwithKOF2003.rar (no K in it) and for some reason I cannot get it to work. Im not new to emus but for some reason it notices the KOF2003 rom but when I double click on it nothing happens???? I changed the rom path to the folder on my desktop that its in but nothing. Any help appreciated thanksyou should wait til it loads as some computers are slow at loading neogeo roms min specs recomended are 1 ghz cpu 512 meg ram (memory) Edited February 6, 2004 by Prican25
James Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 What windows version are you using? if it's a Win9x platform, you might need unicows.dll [easily found through a quick search and put it in your windows directory].i doubt thats the reason. as it would of said it was missing before mame32 plus had loaded.
drifterzzz Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 any update for the moves patch i getting tired try to do the dm damn so hard...arghhhhhh
Chaotica Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Yay! I finally got it working! What a cool game! I like the animations, and the music, and the intro. Right now, I'm getting into using Malin and her knives. Don't know if it's my favourite Kof, but it's really fun to play! And the game runs pretty well on my P2 350 war horse, with 128 ram. Slightly choppy, but playable.
alphabetman Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 (edited) any update for the moves patch i getting tired try to do the dm damn so hard...arghhhhhh what move patch? edit: how do you get a ps2-to-usb controller working in jamesmame? Edited February 6, 2004 by alphabetman
stealthcat Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 any update for the moves patch i getting tired try to do the dm damn so hard...arghhhhhh what move patch? edit: how do you get a ps2-to-usb controller working in jamesmame? hm.. i don't know why some people are complaining about the moves. I've been able to do all that I tried, including LDM's. ps2 to usb works in Mame fine. Press tab after you get into MAME and the custom menu will come up. Generally, PS2 controllers are already preconfigured for SNK games (the 4 attack buttons and d-pad are). If you need to set up your controller to your computer, go to aldotools.com for drivers.
veristic Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Well there's yur problem. Heh. There's no damn move patch.
webcarrot Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 I don't know whether we're straying offtopic here to be talking about moves, when this thread is for news, but all the same, I've been using a keyboard for years and had no trouble pulling off any fighting games' moves, whether they be SNK or Capcom made. Maybe you're pressing the keys too slowly? or too quickly...What are your specs? The game may not be picking up your moves if it's choppy [happened to me when I first ran mame, but changed a few options]. It doesn't have to be a fluid motion, just press the directions, like for Robert's DM for example : Back, Down, Toward, Down + A / C If you still can't play then...well, it seems SNK Playmore's war against emulation will be won by keyboards
Lightsier Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Yeah, I got a friend when playing against in Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the PC, he can do combos and all the supers with no problem with the keyboard. It's so strange to watch...
