The-Ice-Man Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I don't really follow it's progress but I think it may be a bit of a wait before every last system is completed with a full set of Xtras. Best bet for a progress report is to PM Rx himself or Cba.gy maybe, or just check out the Xtra's thread over at Xbox-scene.
PhilExile Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I think Rx said the deadline he made for himself is March 15th.
dballs Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 ive been doing a lot of research on large hdd lately. i have a new xbox to mod for a room without internet access (and i dont want to buy a wireless adapter for $50 for it really). the largest you can get in one is 2 tb. it involves a sata to ide adapter (i dont think there are any 2 tb ide drives out), xbox-partitioner 1.0 AND 1.1. an f and g partition formatted with 64b clusters. many ppl have been doing it with success. biggest risk is in the adapter. some work some dont. but it should be stable once you get it all dialed in. ill let you all know once i try. i hope i dont waste $150 i dont really have lol.
BuckBuk Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Just did me and a buds Xboxes with 500GB Pata WD drives, used a buddies Moded box to treat the drives. Now i am poking about the net for ways to turn these badboys into a couple of badass gaming museums. Thanks for having me.
Emu Newbie Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 I'm thinking and hoping that 320gb will suffice for ResX stuff- I'm looking just for - NES, SNES, Genesis/megadrive, N64, Atari2600, and Mame/neogeo stuff I got a 10gb file that was a coin-ops show case - and I believe it has all the videos and screen shots. I can't wait till the ResX stuff is released - hopefully someone will nicely package everything - so I can just FTP it on over
hangover Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I have 9 x Xbox's, 3 with 160 gig hdd's, 1 with an 80gig sata, 2 with stock hdd that i just tsop flashed and a 400gig sata that will go into one of them. 1 new crystal xbox that will get a bigger (250gig hdd or bigger ) and 2 x that are under repair that will also get larger hdd's when i find some cheap. I stream about half of my movies and music but one has about 60 gig of kids movies so they can watch without needing the pc on.
RMM Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 If you are going the SATA/adapter route I would recommend staying away from the 2TB Hitachi drives. I tried one in a couple of different XBoxs and kept getting an error 9. I have since read other people have had problems with trying to get the Hitachi drives to work.
Alb@ross Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Two xboxes in our house, one has a samsung 120GB hdd & the other an mtd 400GB hdd.

Xboxem Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Just ordered 1.5 TB Seagate and SATA to IDE converter, I will be installing it this week
brizad77 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) I have installed a 40gb WD in a 1.0 box, and a 300gb WD in a 1.6 box. Partitioned the 300gb with xbpartitioner to have a 278gb F partition with 32K clusters. Hopefully no data loss will happen when I start to fill it up. Edited February 25, 2010 by brizad77
