BoomBa_GoosE Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 ummm, innovative? i ono what to say really. it looks like to be one of those products that is kinda ahead of our time. it sorta gives me a Eyetoy feeling, how u gotta move around like a lot to play a certain game, from what i see on the demo vid at least. i guess ill have to wait to see it in action. but for me at least, nintendo hasnt improved on controllers since SNES, so im not gonna get too excited on this one.
Wizard Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I just died a little inside. As much as I want it to live on, it will ultimently decide one what the software can do with this hardware. I own all said DS games in this thread and it changed my prespective a bit. Nintendo is the only company actually still trying overall. This controller just proves it. As much as I love Nintendo and want this to not come back to bit them in the ass, they'd need to offer both crowds something.

Prican25 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 all i can say is wow, i didn't expect this and seems crazy but i can't judge it untill i get my hands on it to try it out.

I really hope they suceed, because with the sales of the DS and it's games, who knows, maybe their offer of a unique experience mean all their heartship and let downs will pay off.
Prican25 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 i thought this perfectly matched my thoughts when i saw the controller http://nintyrevcontroller.ytmnd.com/
suvo Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 lol looks like a tv remote. I thought the gamecube controller looked retarded when it was released and i think its one one the better ones so we will have to wait and see.
L.S.D Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I think this might alienated a lot of game developers.Game developers want games that can be easily ported to other consoles and vice versa. I can't imagine using the controller to play NFSR or any fighting games like Tekken. They will onyl have to make games specifically for Nintendo only. And how do they use the controller to play old NES or GC games? I thought Revolution is backward compatible?

The new controller forces developers to think about game controls from a different angle and be innovative. Rather than alienating developers, it most likely sparks a whole new interest in designing the games. Don't be so quick to pass judgment. As for the older games, same thing applies. I'm sure Nintendo carefully took its older games into account as well when they designed the Revolution controller.
L.S.D Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I will take the attitude of "just wait and see"
Wizard Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 With possiblities like this, developement for Rev would be the quriky and unique titles. Can anyone say "Jedi Knight?"
Gryph Posted September 16, 2005 Author Posted September 16, 2005 To play NES games you just have to turn the controller sideways. And to play other games I think you will have to buy extensions and crap. I just hope they aren't expensive.
Lucandrake Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Nintendo gave us remakes of there old nes games on gba for $20, im pretty sure the add ons will be cheap ^.^
