  1. As a rule of thumb try to use the image's native program to burn it as it's easier to notice any probs. Read this post to see which program to use and which options to use for burning with them. Nero for.nrg, Discjuggler for.cdi and Alcohol for mdf/mds. EDIT : For burning to cd-r just use a larger capacity cd-r, 99min one if necessary, or if ur burner supports overburning then u can squeeze even more MBs on than the discs supposed capacity eg u should be able to get 700+ on a 650MB cd-r Also if u want to convert ur nrg to bin/cue for Chankast then I think u can use UltraISO as it has a partial nero engine.
  2. Good question Depends on what u deem to be 'wrong' with the telesync. Again I would recommend VirtualDub as a remedy. Combine vdub with a filter or two and u should be able to get a reasonable improvement. I got most of my filters from here As far as more extensive help goes try forums.digital-digest.com which has a lot of good advice, www.afterdawn.com, doom9.org or www.videohelp.com for various guides which may help. My personal fave is here which has good guidance on most common problems, and some vdub filter help too.
  3. Martroska rules!! Anyway.. u need the mkvtoolnix pack and in it u need to use the mkvextract.exe to rip the audio u want. Also make sure u have all the codecs for.mkv by visiting the matroska.sourceforge.net site and d/l the codec pack from there. Alternatively u can use virtualdub(mod) to extract the audio if u have experience with that. Personally i prefer vdub
  4. Heres some useful reference info that i found regarding burning dc games. I was having a few probs until i read it. 5. I too have experimented with most p2p softwares and it is my opinion that IRC is definately the most beneficial if u take a little time to learn it. Here is a cut/paste of a very small (and pitiful ) IRC guide hastily written by myself which I use in my own DC hub. ~~~ IRC ~~~ IRC has been around for years but it is still probably the best way to get ISOs for your console. As far as clients go they don't really have an impact on how easily you can find get what you are looking for, instead it really depends on the scripts u use along with them. Clients - mIRC - prob the best and easily the most popular IRC client > http://www.mirc.com There are several other clients available but really this is the only one you will need. Scripts - There are loads of scripts available for IRC like anti-spam, flood protection etc but for our purposes we need one that gathers info on the 'bots' in each IRC channel (hub). There are a few available like XDCC Klipper and XDCC browser. However there is a very good all-in-one script that includes XDCC Klipper and much more besides, called Invision. Again this script is all you will need but feel free to search for similar scripts if u like. Get the Invision script here > http://www.scriptheaven.net. This site houses many other useful IRC scripts when u feel like trying any out. FAQs, Guides - This is the standard IRC FAQ and probably the most in-depth too > http://www.mirc.com/ircintro.html This is a guide for downloading from the bots - http://www.kojin-asylum.pwp.blueyonder.co....ownloading3.htm And a guide to downloading from the servers, ie. other users - http://www.kojin-asylum.pwp.blueyonder.co....ownloading2.htm Links - There are many search engines to search the IRC channels such as IRCSpy and PacketNews, but here is a page with most of the main search engines all in one place > http://www.debateroom.com That should be all you need to start downloading the vast amount of games available to you on IRC. Happy downloading ) ~~~~~ Despite the fact that I host a hub on DC and it is easy to use I would definately advocate IRC as the best means of d/ling games. Usenet is very good too but not as many games are available and maybe even more difficult than IRC to learn. In the irc guide i linked to the main irc faq as a good reference point but really its the 2 'download' links which u will need to read more. As with most p2p the best way to learn is to just install the thing and use it and use faqs as reference. If u need to find specific games channels on IRC use the 'IRCSearch' box at www.debateroom.com, which searches for channel names rather than actual files. If u need a few channels to start u off then PM me and I'll let u know some If u do decide to use DC however don't forget to drop into my hub
  6. I think this anti-sticky thread should be 'stuck' to confirm the need for more irrelevant 'stickies'
  7. Bit late but thanks for the mention G ) Currently running at around 50 users !! btw recently I have been searching for saturn/dc isos for myself and found IRC, Bit Torrent and Usenet to be very useful as well as Direct Connect. So I put together some small guides for them in my hub.. Welcome as always ps to AndymaN and LSD, Ive gotten 25+ DC isos in the last 3 days from all of the above sources combined, incl mvc2, sfa3, sf3 Double Impact, cvsnk, and loads more besides. If u can get up and running on DC++ then drop into my hub ( devious.sytes.net ) and I can help u get want u need .... well to a degree <^.^>
  8. I think an altogether new thread would be better IMO. Simply to start with a 'clean slate'. Then maybe the debate could advance beyond flaming Maybe it would be appropriate for a Team Cassini member to 'get the ball rolling'?
  9. Since Gamecop has already stated that this forum will be deleted in less than 24hrs it is a bit pointless trying to promote any discussion in here, especially given that this debate deserves more than a 24 hour shelf-life. As GC recommended the 'Current Affairs' section, you would be better advised to continue there.
  10. neo I tried out over 10 diff firewalls and about the same antivirus apps too. I also tried out 95% of the all-in-one suites such as VCOM's system suite, Panda Internet security, System Mechanic, McAfee Internet Security etc etc. One piece of advice that was given a lot was to keep separate av and firewall programs, usually described as a layered approach. Most of the 'experts' agreed that this was the best strategy. As for exact software, its personal choice tbh. As i said I experimented with a lot of av/firewall combinations and all-in-ones, but it took me about 6 months to settle on what I wanted. If u do want the package av/firewall then I liked Panda Internet Security as it was neat, low cpu usage and updated itself sometimes 2-3 times daily, and also McAfees Internet Security package is very comprehensive and easy to use, but slighty heavier on cpu due to it being a larger package.
  11. I know little of the legalities of this or any other emulator, however what I have observed is the almost universal praise for this 'new' version of what was giri giri. I have perused many emu/rom sites where the news of this development has spread and it has only garnered a positive response from those that have heard of it. This project should be supported by the whole emulation community, rather than attacked by people who do not hold, or wish to hold, the facts about it.
  12. This Saturn emulator is picking up momentum in a big way. Just check out the compatability list at the site http://www.barnitos.net/cassini/compatability.htm , for proof. Saturn ISOs remain pretty elusive though. However I managed to pick up around 10 or so from bit torrent via suprnova and theres a good few available on usenet in multi-rar format. If u have even the slightest interest in the Saturn then this emulator is an exciting development and some Saturn games are hard to ignore, Panzer Dragoon Saga, NiGHTs, Virtual On etc. Go get it A.S.A.P and enjoy, and thanks to barnito and the rest of the giri giri/cassini team for keeping this emulator alive and kicking
  13. As for those 'evil eyes', I have already been 'rumbled' in the irc room I'm watching yoo
  14. Capcoms arcade games are for me the best of the best. Reason being is that they mostly stick to the 3 game types I like the best, side-scroller beat-em ups, SF2 style 2D fighters and vertical scrolling shooters. Favs would be X-Men vs SF, Battle Circuit (excellent), and AvsP. Dammit they are all good!!! I LOVE CPS baby!!
  15. Cheers Ryuken. I always forget the damn link Happy golfing!
  16. I have a prog called Screen Recorder Gold that I have never used but I know it can capture the screen and output to avi. Also it allows u to record full screen, windows or a specific area of the screen that u need. ps It is only 433kb so I could send it no probs
  17. I think WinISO and ISObuster are more popular but I use UltraISO as it includes Nero burn. Anyway it lets u convert almost any image file to bin/cue/iso. I did use it once for nrg>iso but Im positive that it will let u convert to bin/cue as well.
  18. I got KOF2003 packed with a NRx especially for it months ago from a site called snkmaniaks(?). It was a Spanish/English site hosting about 15-20 NeoGeo games including mslug1-5, sengoku 3, sshowdown 5 etc. Any of the 'stubborn' games all came packaged with their own 'hacked' version of kawaks or NRx. The thing I wanted to ask was that the site hosted about 4-5 versions of kof, cant rem which ones, but for the later kofs they also had a 'Plus' or 'Hero' edition to download too. Are these legitimate versions or just 'hacks'? Here's a screen of kof 2003 'hero'
  19. Just been playing a Japanese vert-scrolling shooter called Guwange and its very good. Prob the best shooter outside of the 194x games, which I love. Just thought I'd recommend it
  20. I can't understand all the votes for SF2:CE, only way I can see is that all u people must have been stuck with the Megadrive/Genesis and never got to play SNES SF2. As far as I could tell the 'boss' characters were just that, and never well balanced enough to use properly although I did like using Sagat when I tired of Ryu/Ken. This may be all nostalgia however. So probably Super SF2 Turbo for the SNES would be my pick. As for the Alpha series, i think SFA3 was the best Alpha game as it was the first SF game I had played in years, since SNES SF2, that actually felt almost like the SF series of old, though I never really took to the 'power bars' or whatever. All the rest I own or have owned, as in X-MenvsSF, MvsC etc but they are all pure arcade adrenalin button bashing mayhem and not really in the same league. As for SF3, I have never seen or played it/them.
  21. I only had the 3 FF games and that was all. At the time it was just a new avenue to explore, but to get the games to work was too much hassle compared to what I am used to. As I said the donation of the psx sorta killed my interest off. As for FF7 I had mistakenly got part of the PC version mixed with 2 parts of the psx one, even though the bins all followed the same naming structure. Ultimately I havent played FF7 after all, and it was this game that had inspired me to get ePSXe in the first place Anyway, I have since consoled myself with FF Tactics Advance on the GBA Thanks all the same. I will no doubt be returning to psx emulation soon as it maybe develops a bit more, and I develop a bit more too
  22. I bought the game I think u are referring to for the SNES. It was called Super Putty and the main character was indeed a blob of blue putty which u navigated around a series of platform levels. Hope this is the right one! Heres a small screen cap from zsnes to check it..
  23. The best solution for banner blocking and general pop-up/ad blocking was to use the freeware Avant browser. It can block 99.9% of banner ads and pop-ups and replaces them with a 'Blocked by Avant' sign in place of the banner. This way u dont need to rely on outside software interacting with IE or whatever as it does it all for u. As was mentioned, Firefox with relevant plug-in is also very good. However, my personal fav has always been Opera...
  24. Since no-one bothered to reply to my n00b post I'll just have to do it myself Oh, and I more or less lost interest in psx emulation after that post when i was kindly donated one with a stack of games that was destined for the scrapheap..
  25. Just a recommendation for anyone who liked Mario Golf on the GC as I do ( and still do, and still play, and have played probably more than any other game, on any other system I have ever owned, (except SNES SF2 when I was 13)). Anyway... Mario Golf Advance Tour for GBA got its US release few weeks ago and it is Mario Golf x2. As another comparison, it is better even than the Gamecube Mario Golf : Toadstool Tour.
