  1. I cannot grasp two things - 1) 3D fighting games. There is no need for them. 2D will always prevail. 2) The appeal of online gaming. I have never ever once thought of, or participated in, online gaming. Could someone explain the attraction of playing against some invisible guy accross the net as opposed to playing against an invisible CPU guy? If I were to start, which game would anyone recommend? I have heard a lot about SW : Galaxies, but that is about all.
  2. Same here. But I still prefer Xbox Champ manager for some reason.
  3. I actually had the PS2 version before the DC version so I only poked around the first few levels on the DC. No way it would go over 200 I think. Only one way to find out... ...that is if you have the skill to beat it?
  4. If you use the settings above you will not go wrong. 1) Don't set speed too high or too low, I find 8-16x is fine. 2) Must use Mode1, RAW Write and Overburn options. Rest are defaults. 3) Forgot this one and it is v important. If you press 'Start' to burn and encounter an error about the structure of the cdi, then DJ will ask you if you want it to fix it for you. ALWAYS reply 'No' or else it will screw up the burn. Just say 'Yes' and it'll work OK. Good luck.
  5. Apparently it isn't a bug. I consulted my DC sources and they tell me that it is meant to be that way. The save does get progressively larger, like KOTOR. It is pretty rare afaik but it is meant to be. But given that the game wasn't 100% complete than it may have been something they might have worked on before full release but who knows? So...no fix
  6. I know this is going back a bit but I was a bit dubious about the rule changes at the time. But it seems to have got rid of most of the drifters and helped to strengthen the community a lot more. Fine job!
  7. I know I look ugly in this pic but... oh wait I ALWAYS look ugly, it's nothing to do with the pic Edit - Yes, I have an unusually large forehead. Thanks for noticing.
  8. tbh I don't see the appeal of anime but I noticed your small clip and was intrigued. What is it from? Merci beaucoup! EDIT - Answer me!! or I shall bomb u!! please. EDIT 2 - Thankyou BSX
  9. Well I would join but linux version is 'broken'. Even tried to run the win32 version emulated but no luck. *sobs*
  10. The Blue Shift for DC was the original, and it was intended as an exclusive for it, but after the DC version collapsed then it was ported to PC. AFAIK every DC version of HL on the net includes the blue shift pack too. It is still a weak game IMO.
  11. IIRC just before I left for a bit you 2 got promoted, and now I'm just back you get promoted again? Gonna need more categories soon
  12. HL was either very nearly complete or actually 100% done when Valve decided to pull the game from printing. However a 'finished' copy leaked out. HL suffers from long load times and some stuttering fps in parts but its fine otherwise. I actually despise HL but that's just me. Oh and the blue bit I rem was that the DC version includeed the 'BlueShift' expansion/mod pack that later adorned the PC version. Some people have referred to this HL + BlueShift as Half-life Gold but it's just a name.
  13. A 'blue' edition exists afaik but not sure about gold.
  14. cdi is Discjuggler's native format, and it is the 'best' to use for burning them. Get DiscJuggler 4.1 or higher and start it up, select File>New, then select 'Burn CD/DVD Images'. From the next screen select the cdi to be burnt (Source), and set the burn speed (Method) to 8-16x at most. Then click the 'advanced' tab and change Mode to mode1/DVD, then tick 'RAW Write' and 'Overburn CD'. Leave everything else as it was and click 'Start'. I have never had a bad cdi burn with DJ. It is fool-proof.
  15. I don't own one personally but I have played it on the new ps2 quite a bit. It is so much smaller it is hard to believe that they didn't leave something out. EDIT : Rent it by all means but unlike the first two games a lot of the good stuff doesn't appear until you progress around 1/3 or so, which would take a couple of days play time.
  16. I'm not 100% on this but since you own the originals then you could legitamately download a copy of each and use them. Not sure though. EDIT : Sounds like it may be a laser issue come to think of it. I rem the 'resetting issue' was due to a mis-aligned laser. Try here and search for a potential solution.
  17. Em, Cobain probly because he was like the 'Lennon' of my era. Otherwise Hendrix...
  18. I was just following up on 666Ghost's post. It had nothing to do with your posts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Phew! But what can be done to promote the IRC channel? I assume that if you bothered to make the IRC info page then you mean more members to use #1emu?
  19. 666Ghost >> How in the hell do you conclude from that post that I am talking about fservs or anything of the like. I know the rules just fine thanks. I have enough roms to last me from now to doomsday. I was merely trying to convey the point that the IRC channel should be frequented by more board regulars to make it worthwhile. Having 10 people in the channel doesn't make for much of an atmosphere. And I'm surprised you thought that's what I meant at all GC.
  20. No I mean like actually being present in the channel to make it worthwhile. A handful of users doesn't make for much of anything. Hell, if IRC kept post counts then I know that more people would use it.
  21. Two things - 1> Nice pointers to get people started 2> Need a bit more support from regulars as far as actually using the channel. It doesn't take any effort to just idle in the channel.
  22. Thanks that's all I needed to know chaps
  23. A linux port would be excellent as I have found emulation ( and gaming in general ), to be somewhat lacking in lnux for whatever reason. Best of luck!
  24. For whatever reason I simply don't like using my PC to play games. For me, being raised on Master System/SNES etc I cannot fathom gaming outside of the console. So I finally gave in and got myself a new Xbox in order to make use of my 'modest' collection of emus/roms. So what I'd like to know is which emulators just work, and will the roms I already have work or require modification? My main interests would be N64/SNES/GBA,CPS1/2 and some NeoGeo too. Thanks.
  25. Oops, sorry there Maggy Well I just got myself a Xbox+200gig Maxtor so I should have a lot more reviews in the pipeline. See you soon m8.
