[S4]The Phantom Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 ....wow, so much for deviation. Anyway, just to add a note for Yumeji, I think her DM was shown once in Rasetsumaru's ending. (in the jap version of course)
Wizard Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 The Phantom,Aug 2 2004, 09:56 AM] <useful info> Well, hope that helped, and info like this should be in public even if you are the only person who is really interested in it, I think Yumeji is a chick (something about women in red with swords just owns). Thanks for the info, now I really hope they figging translate it for the American release. if not, i'll just read a faq. And her past isn't that hard, all I know is her father, who is Ukyo's mentor, kicked her out of the home for something, and Ukyo is sent to find her by her mother.
[S4]The Phantom Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 (edited) The Phantom,Aug 2 2004, 09:56 AM] <useful info> Well, hope that helped, and info like this should be in public even if you are the only person who is really interested in it, I think Yumeji is a chick (something about women in red with swords just owns). And her past isn't that hard, all I know is her father, who is Ukyo's mentor, kicked her out of the home for something, and Ukyo is sent to find her by her mother. Well, the hard part is the questions like 1) What's the relationship between her and Ukyo? 2) What's the relationship between her and Gaoh? Her statements show some hints that their relationship is not limited to Lord-Vassal relationship, but rather a more.... personal one, so to speak. 3) Is she really female? This question is brought up because of her voice, masculine outlines (especially in Asian perspective), and her strict relationship that reveals no romantic relationships whatsoever. 4) Ukyo has said that Yumeji is "the one true Genius". Well, SNKP never bothered to say "why" 5) In the Japanese version endings in SSZ, she keeps throwing ambiguous phrases that can contradict with some "assumptions" with each interpretation. So much for thos Shinmuso Itoryu, sheesh. 6) Also, the iron rule of "ShimMuSou Itoryu" is that it can be taught to no other except flesh kins. And I haven't heard that they allowed females to participate in ShimMusou Itoryu. Seriously, at that time, swords were "men's tools". So, in order her to be a family, she had to be A: Ukyo's sister B: Ukyo's wife. Or she broke the rules with help of Ukyo who sees her as the only genius. More information, more controversy. And I love the controversy Especially the "male or female" is the most controversial along with the relationship between Ukyo/Gaoh. I seems that the majority of Korean/Americans view Yumeji as women, while Japanese and Chinese tend to see Yumeji as male. Her near nonexsistant breasts (heavily supressed with inner garments, some believe) substantiate that view as well. Well, we'll never find out because she always has lipstick on her lips... Segata Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Sorry, I don't feel like reading through 18 pages. Have any links surfaced yet?
Wizard Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 She is the daughter of Kurokouchi Sakon, the mentor of Ukyo. Her skillswith the sword art is far greater than Ukyo's. But for some unknown reason, shewas kicked out from her fathers house. She was picked up by Gaoh and gave her anew reason to live. Now she serves under Gaoh and will do anything for him.
L.S.D Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Lol, you better hope Yumeji IS a girl, or we are going to think K'Dash as queer

I guess that defintely solves the questions of Yumeji's origins and why she is able to learn Shin MuSou Itoryu. However, my definition of "relationship" meant romantic relationships. SNK is too suggestive of stuff as always, and we've got people debating whether Yumeji is bound to Gaoh emotionally as well as loyalty. And Ukyo's wierd attitude dealing with Yumeji in his ending draws questions too. If Ukyo viewed Yumeji as another Kenshi, why did Ukyo not kill Yumeji? It is against Yumeji's pride. Some things just are not explicable with her[him]
Wizard Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Anyways, telling from the same translation FAQ. She basically roamed around for 2 years pretending to be a boy, dualing fighters, and she was picked up by Gaoh on the 3rd year(That would be SSZero/V/5).
James Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Sorry, I don't feel like reading through 18 pages. Have any links surfaced yet?Well if you want to find info thats whats needed you read the pages Please note if people keep asking for links then I will close this thread all it takes is reading the pages to see if there is links or info. This thread is a mess as it is.
