newbie with arcade emulation Daves Dtmnt
Mooney replied to solidd24's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
I'm not sure if this is the same, but in MAME32, to configure the controls, just press 'Tab' while playing a game. -
So you're saying we should leave our comps on just to see how much energy we waste? Hell, screw "Deja Vu," I'm satying home to watch THIS! Sorry for my sarcasm, but it felt good. Seriously, tho, this is a good cause. Although, it could be a mixed blessing. If more people shut down their comps, there would be less seeds on the bittorrent network.

Keep in mind, MicroSD cards are more costly than SD cards, so you may still want to weigh your options. Nopes! You will probably never find any sort of backup device, handheld memory card adapter, or mod chip at a retail store. They don't even want to risk a run in with the law. But I have found an alternative to the MicroNinja (If you are short on cash), the NinjaPass X9. Only differences here are the prices (MicroNinja $80, NinjaPass X9 $50) and the MicroNinja has that awesome built-in FTP app. From where I see it, the MicroNinja is like an M3 and the NinjaPass is like an SC; Major differences in price, but different features.

I tried running DSLinux on iDeaS, DSemu, Dualis, and NDeSmuME, but it would not run. Maybe you could try No$GBA. If that does not work, which I predict will happen, I'd say that DSlinux only runs on actual hardware.

4.00HE over here, but I'm not upgrading on this comp. On my new one, mebbe...

Finally, for those of you who are either too lazy to watch your DPGs with MoonShell or for some odd reason you prefer your videos in the DPG format even though you don't even own a DS, a DPG video viewer for Windows has been released. Download: DPGPlay

http://www.ninjads.com/micro.html This little thang is AMAZING! It is not only SO much better than a DS Xtreme, in that it takes a memory card while only using the DS card slot, but it is also reasonably priced! I mean, what's not to love about it? * Takes MicroSD card * Fully flush in the DS Slot-1 * Supports homebrew without patching * No NoPass or PassMe needed to use the card * No need for a special filesystem * Plays MP3/WAV/S3/XM (Built-in, no moonshell) * Views JPG/BMP/GIF/PCX (same as above) * Has a Wifi FTP Client(so that you can download files to your DS wherever you are) * Easy and intuitive Menu * 2 MegaByte Flashrom * Can act as a NoPass to boot other slot-2 cards, such as the M3/SC/EZ4/Neo. As soon as I sell my M3 setup (HINT buy it HINT ) I'm gonna get me one of these!

Do you have the proper BIOS (ROM0, ROM1, ROM2, EROM)? If not, you may want to look at this guide: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14647 Otherwise, to load a game you just go to "File > Run CD" or "File > Open ELF File." Also, you may want to check the emulator's compatibility list and see if your game is on there.

Download: PS1P Alpha 1 Also, I am not sure if I provide a link to the PS1 BIOS file that is needed, so I will not unless a mod says I can. Anyway, I am definitely going to give this a try. Even if it ends up sucking, it sure as hell beats upgrading to 3.00!
-
I've heard this may not be worth the upgrade from SE-B", but I'll probably get it anyway. Thoughts?
-
I actually don't think this will cost game companies too much money. Most of these are for things that are obsolete, anyway.
-
Woah... deep... I think I may have had one of these recently... I dunno... deep...
-
Heh heh.... Well, I'm glad it ended up working in the end! Besides, 2.71 SE is TOTALLY worth it. Beasty pwnage, it is. And now that 3.00 and 3.01 have been dumped and decrypted, maybe the next version of DevHook (Whenever that comes out... ) will support them!

I'm looking forward to my Thanksgiving day... turkey... potatoes... gravy... PUMPKIN PIE!
-
Well, Noobz has done it again! After just 2 days of 3.00 being released, and less than one of 3.01, Noobz has created a mod for the PSPPet's PSARDumper that will decrypt all known firmware update PSARs. Just extract the PSAR from the EBOOT in the usual way, copy it to ms0:/data.psar, and run the dumper. Download (Source included): http://files.fanjita.org/psp/PSARDumper_300.zip Source: www.noobz.eu

New laws make copyright infringment a criminal offence
Mooney replied to Robert's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Well, know you all know how I feel. But at least you guys don't have to worry about the MPAA. They usually fine a copyright violator $150,000 per piece of copyrighted material that was illegally obtained, in addition to a prison sentence. -
What I'm wondering is if someone will find a way to let people without PS3s play PS games. Cause right now, none of the PS emulators out there are really worth downloading...

Go to my blog: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php...mp;showentry=99 Thanks for the advice, everyone. I guess I'll look into Mandriva some more!
-
Allright, I'm fed up with Windows on my current PC... the one I'm trying to sell. So unless someone wants it with Windows NOW, I'm putting Linux on it. I can always re-install Windows, so don't let that deter you potential customers. Anyway, I'm thinking of installing Fedora Core 6 or Mandriva, unless anyone else has some suggestions? (I won't be using this comp for much, just browsing the web, IM, and mebbe P2P. Also, I really don't know much about Linux in the first place.) Suggestions on apps would be welcomed, too.

Today Sony finally released its much anticipated firmware 3.00. Here are the details: Anyone here feel like they must ditch homebrew to update? User's Guide: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psp/current/

Michael Richards (Kramer on Seinfeld) Loses it!
Mooney replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Broken link... or Google video just sucks -
No. You got the numbers mixed up: It is 4GB (Giga BIT) which is 512Mb (Mega BYTE) Which is four times less than my M3 SD w/2Gb (Giga BYTE) SD card, also more expensive.
