  1. sure, my copy of l4d2 is still coming in the mail, but I have l4d1 already.
  2. Oh okay, I didn't even know about the 2005 movie until now. I've only seen/heard of the 94 movie.
  3. Technically the Radeons can do physx. I've seen it done with a hacked driver. (I can point you in the direction of a download if you want) The performance was actually very good too. Officially they cannot but ATi is apparently working on an equivalent of physix/cuda. I wouldn't worry about it though. It never really adds anything to the game. Plenty of games have excellent physics without physx. It's not like it's for free either. My buddy with a GeForce card always leaves physx off because he says he always gets better FPS that way and there isn't even a real noticeable difference. As for the 5970, the only way I would get one of those is if I wanted to do Quad Crossfire. I saw some benchmarks that showed two 5970s in crossfire and the performance wasn't any better than with one 5970. The CPU/chipset and everything was top of the line/overclocked too so I guess what this means is one 5970/two 5870s is already the maximum bandwidth possible with PCI-E 2.0. So I would rather pay for two GPUs over time (second one after a price drop) than 2 at once since getting any more than that would be useless. It could end up being a driver issue, but I don't think I'm going to drop that kind of cash on graphics cards anyway, two is enough for me, hell even one of these seems excessive.
  4. What? He does? Are they making a new one with him in or something? This whole thread confuses me, you are talking about the movie from 94 right?
  5. after all my bitching I found a couple good deals. I got COD4 for 20 bucks (Why is this game still 40+ dollars?) and L4D2 for 30. Free shipping on both. PC versions BTW.
  6. Yeah but sometimes if you can eliminate them from a certain area it makes it easier because of where the shots will be coming from they are easier to dodge. I hope that makes sense, had a bit to drink awhile ago.
  7. Yeah, but it seems like I wouldn't have to buy one for a really long time if I got this. You can play Crysis at 2560X1600. That's just crazy.
  8. Man you just have to be really fast and keep moving. The projectiles are pretty slow so they are easy to dodge. (especially if you have been doing it for hours and you didn't just skip to the last level) Set your shit up for circle strafing+always run. If you miss too many times or take too much damage in the beginning just start over. Also you don't have to start killing everyone right off the bat, you should just be running past most of them.
  9. ^Yeah me and my friend watched gamer a couple days ago because we knew it would be bad. It was worse than expected.
  10. I eat ridiculous amounts of junk food. Especially now that I am either working or lazing around on the couch because I'm tired from working and don't want to go anywhere. Usually when I go to burger king or whatever I will eat like 3 burgers too. I try to maximize ounces of food to dollars spent. I'm skinny somehow.
  11. Are you talking about the final boss in Doom 2? Man it's really easy actually if you know how to do it. Maybe I've just played a ridiculous amount of doom though. It will always be one of my favorite games. Especially since you can get it to run on anything!
  12. So I'm going to be building this PC for a friend, and he offered to buy my 4890. With the money I would get from that+the money I would get from building the PC I would have almost enough to buy a 5870. Do you think I should sell my card to him and go for it? I mean it IS a better card, but the card I have now already runs everything I want it to. I would get DX11 support but in the past it seems like whenever you buy the first generation of cards for a new DX you get screwed performance wise. Basically I want it and I know it will be awesome but this voice in the back of my head is desperately trying to talk me out of it and can't find any real reasons why. I mean I don't really need anything else as far as expensive purchases go so I could get it. I guess I could get a 360 instead but that doesn't get me nearly as excited as this ridiculously powerful card.
  13. Why do people keep saying that a PS3 is more economical compared to a modded 360? This makes no sense, Can you play copied games on the PS3 now? Apparently you can't get banned for it if you can? It seems like sony could ban you if they want to if this is the case and I wouldn't count on staying safe for too long.
  14. yeah and before there where websites you had those fat books.
  15. 2 Gigs is not just 2 Gigs, There are different speeds and timings of RAM. PC2-5300 is pretty slow compared to some of that stuff. The fastest kit there runs almost twice the speed of yours at stock speeds. If you want to buy just more of the same speed though try these: 4GB (4-4-4-12 timing) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231120 2GB (4-4-4-10 timing) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820146112 They not only run at the same speed MHz wise but have tight stock timings. Note that you cannot run these at those timings unless you don't use your old ram because it is probably timed at 5-5-5-15 or slower.
  16. scan yourself too just to be safe, it could have sent you something.
  17. You probably will get better performance from another router. You could always buy one at a store and if you don't return it and say it won't work with your mac or something.
  18. yeah gameshark was cool, I never really used it for cheating though I always liked using those codes that would do fucked up things to the game.
  19. Actually no, a D-Sub port is like $0.25, and I actually still have 3 sets on hand right now. I'd dremel a spot for it in the shell right above the AV port and tap directly into the circuit, might cost me another $0.10 in wire and I like tinkering. Plus no waiting for shipping from China and I can use any VGA cable I have on hand. Damn you, now you've got me wanting to actually do this. http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:dreamcastav Okay well you already have the stuff on hand. Assuming you didn't it would probably be about the same.
  20. First I read this http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/18/mass-we-...rtainly-a-hoax/ and then when I was looking for it to post here I found this http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/20/pre-orde...nferno-trailer/ I like how you don't even have to click those links to know exactly what is going on.
  21. I have been playing Ninja Blade. It isn't awesome because it's pretty much just your standard hack n slash but it isn't terrible either. It is worth playing just because it has INSANE action sequences. You throw massive wrecking balls, ride a motorcycle down a bus thousands of feet up in the air (the vehicles get thrown super high into the air by a giant tentacle beast that is tearing through the city below, duh), jump on a missile fired from a helicopter and ride it like a surfboard back into the helicopter and all kinds of crazy shit. If you don't like quick time events (or whatever they are called, where during an FMV it says PRESS A BUTTON!!!!) STAY AWAY from this game because they are almost constant. I'm only on the 3rd level and i've pretty much already decided I'm going to play through the whole game as long as this crazy shit keeps going on. Not like there is much else to play right now anyway in terms of new games....DAMN YOU ASSASSIN'S CREED 2 AND YOUR PC DELAY!!!!!! I keep hearing about how awesome it is from 360 owners!
  22. Yeah but in Diablo you don't HAVE to keep clicking, you can just hold down the mouse button. Maybe I'm wrong though I haven't played it in awhile.
  23. I used to have a similar setup to you Cinder. The cable modem had to be plugged into a specific coax jack downstairs away from the office/my room. So I plugged it in down there and plugged this nice D-Link router I had into it. I did some benchmarking and it outperformed my Linksys as a main router so that is why I chose it. I also had a VOIP router plugged into the D-Link and a phone plugged in there. Anyway, In my room I had a Linksys WRT54GS flashed with various custom firmwares, whatever I was messing with at the time that would connect to the D-Link and give access to my computer/xbox/etc. It saved me a lot of money because I didn't have to buy a ton of wireless adapters for everything. Also because I was able to tweak the Linksys so much and I was basically only using powerful router radios that I could boost I was able to easily get my connections full bandwidth with no interference ever. I had a very efficient QOS System set up on both routers as well. I haven't been able to match QOS that efficient since, like it was completely bulletproof I could do anything without lag/the voip phone always worked well. I had also built some of these for the D-Link: http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template2/index.html As you can see I was able to aim the signal much better with these. The office was right next to my room upstairs so the wireless PC in there and the router in my room was able to get a good signal. The laptop was usually used in the living room right next to the room the D-Link router was in so it too got a good signal all the time. Streaming things between PCs/Consoles was never a problem either. HOWEVER...As nice as this setup was and as well as it worked, it will never come close to a good wired home network. Especially with gigabit LAN that we have now. It really isn't as hard as it sounds and if you have the time and you are allowed to (Ask you parents/landlord!) hardwiring your house is the best option.
  24. Because you can get a Chinese knockoff that works just as well as the real thing for around 5 dollars with free shipping. It's probably going to cost about that much or more to make it yourself.
