  1. No, it WAS a prank, apparently, seems they had people going for ages, I knew it was bull**** really, I just wanted it to be true. Then when I saw the 120MHz I was like, yeah right, so I kept looking at the forum I found the link in and the very next topic was someone calling it a fake. I should have looked.
  2. ...but this site claims that the Naomi has been fully emulated and is working at 100% speed on a 1.3Gig machine. Okay I've looked into it and I reckon it was some kind of prank because here is the whole article: Guess I must have misread it. A CPS3 game emulated at full speed on a 120 MHz P1?!? I doubt it. On the other hand, there seems to be a lot of info in the forum including a closed topic about a bittorrent link...but (I only skimmed through it as it is 5:20 in the morning here atm, but if anyone wants to look into it? I just can't understand why someone would make an elaborate prank like that (assuming it is not true, of course). Edit: DAMN, he was lying. Why the hell would you lie about a thing like that? And if you were going to lie, why make it so implausable?
  3. Cool, well I live in Australia and we have Targets over here but I don't know if they'd have "City Hunter". Its worth a look though
  4. That's a good point, do you know what the standards mean? I mean obviously [E] is English, [J] is Japanese etc... etc..., and is universal, but what does [!] mean? What does mean? Actually, I am guessing is beta. I guess it is just the [!] I'm puzzled about.
  5. I'd like to make a game, but I don't want to be pigeonholed to one genre. What would be cool is if I could design a series of mini-games that piggyback off one another eg I could make a small game in RPG maker then have some mugen style fighting action, maybe a couple of shockwave games in there, and then have a loader to run all the games in a package. I don't know if it would be possible, I mean getting the games up and running wouldn't be a problem cause I think they all have freeloading programs, I could just draw something up in BASIC even. But the problem would be getting the program to automatically quit from the 1st game once the next one needed to be loaded. I mean sure I could get people to quit out of the game they were playing at the moment, but it would kinda ruin the flow... ie: "A thick cloud of dust descends upon the horizon. Tracing the source, you spy a hundred feirce warriors headed towards you at double pace. You grit your teeth as you seek a firmer foothold on the giant mountain. This is going to be your toughest challenge yet. (please quit the game)".
  6. Yeah, I'm not sure I trust it either. Look out for spyware, but worse according to some guy I called up for tech support (about an unrelated matter) Kazaa actually screws around with your system config. That may have been the full version, but with programs like DC++ out there is it really worth the risk?
  7. Yeah, I just got me a copy of "RPG Maker". I'll check it out and give it a go. How's this movie going? Can you give me a sneak peek of the plot and maybe some outlines for the comic? That way I can make "the-game-of-the-movie" (or is that the-game-of-the-movie-of-the-comic?)
  8. I was just on this website dedicated to the "Street Fighter" series. They mentioned this movie Jackie Chan had been in called "City Hunter". In it, apparently, Jackie dresses up as Chun Li and fights an opponent based as Ken. Apparently they go few a few SF characters as they fight. The page is here. Scroll down for a screen shot. Is it just me or does the "Chun-Li action figure" look more like Jackie in drag than Chun Li?
  9. Hey thanks guys, that was some good advice, just one thing though, how do you find out the CRC value of a zip? Can you do it even with corrupt files as I finised downloading GUilty gear for the playstation and when I tried to unzip it told me the CRC had failed and the file was corrupt Thanks again.
  10. Yeah, I've used a program like that only it was to create old text+graphics style games (IE Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest). I could definitely make a game like that that would be fun. But it wouldn't really be the same if you couldn't play it online.
  11. Okay, maybe this should be in "FTPs and Weblinks" (feel free to move it), but I thought it may be interested in comparing how we find the games we want to play. And I'm not talking about searching through DC, then you just type it in and run with it. No I am talking about web searching. What techniques do you guys use? Mine are probably pretty stupid > I use google, I usually type in the name of the game, then "Download" and if is an old PC game, I add "Abandonware" or if it is a console game, I add "emulator". Like I said that is probably a stupid method but I find it is the only way to avoid "Download Street Fighter Alpha sex masturbation fisting blah blah blah" hits. So, any tips?
  12. It wan't a console game (at first), but I remember being blown away by Wing Commander III: It was the first game I can remember playing that had full-screen FMV, with Hollywood actors playing the parts for a computer game! (Was William Shatner in it or am I just tripping?) EDIT: I just looked into it, and even better it was Mark Hammil (IE Luke Skywalker)
  13. Cool. How did you do it? Did you write it as a console game? Because seeing as a few emulators have net support it couldn't be that hard to implement the on-line aspect of it. Possibly.
  14. Ah, you've got me there, I wouldn't have the first idea how to code it. I reckon I could write a pretty good script/storyline though. Obviously though that is useless without someone to code it. Well Im gonna leave this option open, if anyone wants to have a go at designing an internet-compatible console based game, just let me know. (I feel kinda silly now )
  15. I've made a point of getting multiple emulators for each system (for PSX I have ePSXe, adriPSX and PCSX). With the earlier consoles I have picked an emulator and ran with it (GENS for Sega plays MegaDrive, 32x & SegaCD games - why'd I want anything else?) and the later consoles usually seem to force a favourite at me (Project64 is the only N64 emulator I have had complete success with booting my 64 games). The only problem with having multiple emulators is that often the key configuration is going to be different, but for me this is only a problem with my arcade games, and that's only cause I can't figure out how to change the controls for Nebula.
  16. Mmm..yeah it does seem to be a difficult rom to find...but surely SOMEONE who visits the Emu Rom Hub must have it...anyway thanks for posting, and I assure both you and Alexis that as soon as I find Yu Yu for 3DO you guys'll know about it.
  17. Well, after all these well-argued posts, I don't know where I stand on the debate. But on the above matter, I'd just like to point out that both Capcom and SNK have limitations to work with with character redesigns - notably, that the characters still have to LOOK like themselves. AND most of them have trademark characteristics that MUST be adhered to. Look at Ken from street fighter. He has blonde/red, long hair and his trademark outfit is a red gi. You could change these things but those are the things that make him Ken. So what is left to change?
  18. Man it was funny reading the above posts: it had me convinced that someone had called their site "link deleted"
  19. Didn't mean to step on your toes, guys, this forum is awesome enough as it is, I just thought it would be a cool idea. I always have dreams that are impractical/impossible, just ignore me! (I still reckon it would be cool though!)
  20. People please come to my anime video games thread (click here - or just find it in the "FTPs and Weblinks" section). There are links to dozens of anime games, and Alexis is going to put up some of my screen dumps from the Astro Boy GBA game soon! Also I update it as soon as I find more anime games, so you can keep coming back and finding new things!
  21. Anything that would let me jump as high as the characters in most animes can. How cool would it be to jump onto a 3 story roof from standing on the ground?
  22. What does some dude inventing artificial straws in 1888 have to do with what happened on Jan 3rd on this forum in this year?
  23. Okay but you're going to have to pm me your email address. I can't do it thru this forum.
  24. Yeah I can rip you the movies but the thing is they will probably be BIG. I have these programs which let me burn DVDs so they are zone zero: IE they can be played on any DVD player. But if I were to do that they would be to big to transfer through the internet, so I would have to send them to you. I'm a bit worried that postage will cost an arm and a leg, but I have a friend over from New Zealand at the moment, so he will be going back there. If you could wait, I could get him to post them for me from New Zealand? It's just an idea anyway.
  25. Okay, THAT is funky. I just heard how you can do this with the GBA too! If I were rich I would so buy a master system/genesis/32x/sega cd/NES/SNES/N64/Saturn/atari (hell I'd get all of em if I were rich enough) plus a whole lotta flash cards. (I take it that they're reformatable?)
