  1. Well, I have heard that console makers generally lose money on their consoles and want to get it back in games. The thing about this is, if they're losing money when the console is (here a new console usually comes out at about $700AUD) selling for full price, they'll REALLY be losing out at these prices. No wonder Sega havegiven up on the console race! BTW K'dash, why does your sig say, "do you mean, here?" over and over again?
  2. ...so you mean people were still making games for the CPS2 after they stopped making games for the CPS3?
  3. It has been, but its 0.9b or something. Does that mean that the 25 or so games it can play are the only games made for it? (and ps I can get Tekken running at 45fps only for some reason the sound doesn't work)
  4. Hey, James, I know its been 2 weeks and all, but is there any chance I can get that front-end from you at all? I have a 733Mhz machine and MAME is the only emulator I can get running with a decent filter (antiscropic with no slowdown!)
  5. I just got a copy of MAME with the kof bundle, and although I have steered away from it in the past because it seemed alot more complicated than the other emus, seeing as I can run kof2k3 with antiscropic filtering on my 733MHz, I'm keen to get my other games working on it. Here are the names of the games and their files Garou: MOTW (Garou.zip) Metal Slug 5 Non-Decrypted (Mslug5nd.zip) Power Instinct Matrimelee (pim.zip) SNK v Capcom Plus (svcplus.zip) Waku Waku 7 (wakuwak7.zip) Samurai Showdown 5 (Samsho5.zip) I have checked the zips, and all the games are either in ###- format (eg 271-p1.bin) or in XXX-format (eg pim-p1.bin). Also I have dats for all those games (I think) but I don't know if they are the MAME ones, or whatever.
  6. (+forward) I haven't seemed to have much luck with big-jumping yet. Anyone else been able to do it?
  7. Ah, okay, thanks. And the info was in Japanese at the time, so I couldn't make head nor tail of it.
  8. Okay, so how do you change characters now? This is actually the first KOF I've played since '94 I think.
  9. Wow, complicated. So co can someone pls design a loader file for the kof2k3 rom, and also post what extension it should be saved as?
  10. Well, I just pressed tab (while the game was running) and changed the keys in the settings, that worked fine for me.
  11. Prophet, yes I can get sound working fine, and, Weirzange, how crappy are you talking? Ie not crappier than me right? What settings do you have?
  12. Try this link. You can just tell theres about 2 billion people on there atm, but if you are patient (I wasn't I got it from DC, so I can't verify it) you just may be lucky. EDIT: you may as well use Devil666Heart's link as it works
  13. I'll reuter...reiter... reutar... I'll say it again, I can send it to anyone willing to host it on a ftp or whatever site.
  14. If anyone can host it, i'll send them the whole package...?
  15. Anyone used a ZN-1 emulator before? The zn-1 was the arcade engine which ran arcade games like Tekken 2+3, Street Fighter EX1+2, Rival Schools, etc.. etc... Anyway I remember hearing about it like a month ago and wondering, hmm wonder if that has been emulated? But there were none on Zophars abd one site I came to said "The ZN-1 shouldn't be too hard to emulate..." So I thought, dang guess it isn't emulated. But just last night I found this program called "Zinc" which is, you guessed it, a ZN-1 emulator! And whats more it seems to work well. I don't know how well it would work on a good computer, but I was getting 30 fps on my 733MHz. That might sound slow (given that the framerate in the options thingy was set to 100), but with frameskip on it seemed to be running at about 75% speed (until something graphically impressive happened of course). I had to get a zinc emulator GUI frontend as I couldn't make head nor tail the dos commands, so I guess it isn't new, but it was news to me. fyi, Rival Schools is awesome for the ZN1
  16. Apparently I'm downloading it right now. If only I could attach files
  17. Yeah, but if he doesn't do it, someone else will. I see the CPS-3 being emulated fairly soon (by glacial scales anyway) because a) there are already so many successful cps1/2 emulators out there, the dreamcast emulators are making progress, and c) everyone is gonna want to be the first person to crack the code. It won't be easy, but it'll happen. I've heard, 1.5, 3, even 10 years as the release of the first fully-supported next-next-gen (?) emulators, but i don't know. Sure, the systems are harder to crack, but at the same time, the people working on it have years of emulator-experience to call-on, ex I'm sure the PS2 has to be easier to write code for because of all the successful ps1 emulators out there.
  18. Well, I just downloaded a ZN-1 emulator, which claims to be able to run 25 games. That's an arcade system too, although i don't know if games are still being made for it... ...and if you look around the site you will find that there is actually progress being made on a few emulators - GiriGiri (various versions) is still being worked on, there has been a teaser-release of Dolphin (A GameCube emulator) which can already run "Bust A Move 3000" at full speed (as well as other games not so well), I can't remember the name of it but I was reading about a Dreamcast emulator that was already emulating some games (slowly), even cXbX (I think) could play halo on its first release... I think that there will be plenty of big news on the emulation scene, but final releases of these emulators ARE going to take a while.
  19. Emulation's not going to fade away just cause there are no new Neo Geo titles coming out. Firstly, there are perfectly-working console emulators for all the classic consoles. Also, Next-Gen emus like Nintendo 64 and Playstation emulators will still be worked on. Finally, there are the next-next-gen consoles being worked on such as dreamcast and ps2 emulators. Emulation encompasses alot more than just the arcade games.
  20. I used to have klik and play (still do somewhere), its okay but I always wanted to try the later versions - after Klik & Play was Klik & Kreate and after that came The Games Factory.
  21. You probably didn't read some of the messages this SOB was posting. I think this is tough justice. The only thing that gives me a little qualm is that those emails, and even that name could well just be some kid's dad who is unaware of his son's discrepancies, and now will recieve about a million emails a day.
  22. You need to have.dat files (or.ini files, or both I'm not really sure) for those games to get them to work (or at least that's how I got PIM to work. I'm going to email you the dat and cfg files for Power Instinct Marmiletree. Note that I don't use MAME but they work fine for me in Nebula. Also, if you are getting a message "This game is locked" you may have to get a loader again it could be completely different with Mame, but that's what I did with Nebula. EDIT: Actually you will have to give me your email address as I cannot post files for some reason or send attachments through the email thing on this forum.
  23. I was on the apocalypse board, I got the m and the s and the c (or 2 of each or something) but I checked the whole thread and I couldn't find any v's.
