  1. Tizoc's super mega slam in Garou: MOTW. Gotta love those special effects.
  2. Thankyou Jams and ForceX, I got it working! It runs so smoothly on FB!! Thanks alot! Just one thing...no life or energy bars appear during gameplay, or a timer.
  3. ForceX, can you help me? This is my kof2k3 rom, the one FB won't detect. Is it the right rom? Thanks in advance.
  4. I would play it, don't know if I would like it, I have always liked 2d fighters much better. Yes, I think Tekken games are susceptible to button mashing, and that is their major, major weakness. I also thought Tekken 4 was crap. Very pretty, but crap. I think Tekken Tag Tournament was by far the best. It was fast, the fights took a while to fight out (because of the tag team structure), and really cool combos were possible. It's a great game, as long as you don't button mash, or play against a button masher!!! Tekken 4, on the other hand, has really boring fighting mechanics - where have all the lovely combos gone? The game is more poke n' prod, which sucks. Also, it is hard to do combos on some levels because of the obstructions. I never got into VF...because the game just wasn't visceral enough. Lame excuse I know, but when you land a punch on your opponent, it doesn't look visceral enough, or heavy enough...instead of hitting a flesh and blood opponent, it feels like you are hitting a plastic dummy. It just doesn't feel *intense.* Other fighting games feel intense. You can really feel the pain when you hit someone in Tekken, or (uber example), Mortal Kombat. VF doesn't have that. Neither does DOA. DOA just has attractive floppies. Soul Calibur is really cool. All this is just my twisted opinion, BTW.
  5. Sorry Strider mate, but my rom won't even be detected. That is, when I go to "scan roms," nothing comes up. I've changed the 271 file from "rom" to "bin" and still no joy. I'm guessing it's something really easy, I just can't figure it out.
  6. Please help...ForceX's FBA compile won't detect my Kof rom. It's named Kof2003 and it's the same rom that came bundled with Mame32plus, except with the two patched files that fixed up the infinity number and gave you the secret characters. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm dying to get this running on FBA.
  7. Yes, Ryus, Kens and Guile's SF2 music was cool...but so was Blanka's catchy jungle tune in that game, and Sagat's exotic tune. Speaking of Sagat, his music in Alpha 2 and Alpha 3 is also really cool. In Alpha 2, Birdie's music (getting down and dirty in the toilet) is really cool, as is Rose's tune, and Sakura's. In Alpha 3, I like Cammy's funky beats and Gen's menacing song. Chun Li's is very catchy also. Rolento's grungy/industrial tune is also very sick. But I really, really love X - ism Sodom's music...it's so cool! What about SvC? I really like the tune in the cathedral, or the 'Nude Place.' Nice and gothic sounding. Also the music playing when you fight with the background containing dirt and a factory. I always loved the music playing at The Pit in Mortal Kombat, and the music playing at The Pit 3 and the rooftop of the bank (when you uppercutted someone through the ceiling of the bank, that's what I mean, that backdrop) in Mortal Kombat 3. The exotic music playing in the background of "The Living Forest" in Mortal Kombat 2 was also really catchy. Has anyone played Shadow Fighter, on Amiga? It is a really cool Street Fighter clone, and almost all of the background tunes are memorable. Jurgen in particular has a really trancy dance track. Body Blows Galactic, another Amiga retro fighter, had some really cool music, especially on Techno/Laser's planet, and when you fought on Earth. Galaxy Fight also has some really sick music...but I can't remember which levels!!! I love the music on that night level of Tekken Tag Tournoment...but TTT has lots of really cool music too. The Nest's team in KoF2k3 have sick music, as do the bouncy Girly team, and the Criminals team. All of Garou's music is awesome!!! It really is...all of it!!! I have to ask...is Rock Howard's background music based on an existing song? I swear I have heard that jingle before...perhaps a techno song???
  8. Fiction story for now, G. A fantasy story.
  9. I didn't think that LotR winning best picture was predictable. Fantasy and sci-fi movies barely ever win the major awards at the Oscars - people seem to turn their noses up to them just because of their imaginative content. I was pleasantly surprised. But I still think that the last two LotR movies relied too much on special effects and over the top battle scenes, rather than story, which was what made Tolkien's novels so special. I guess that's why I was pessimistic about Return of the King's chances at success too.
  10. I just finished a degree in media and communications, and now I am doing Honours year. I work at a department store, but I also work at a radio station, and broadcast stuff on air, interview people, do a show, etc etc. Right now, I'm also organising a concert to be held in May. I also like writing alot...I hope to release a book soon...when I can get off my lazy arse and finish the damn thing.
  11. You could always just use "G." I have a friend, and we call him that. He thinks it is cool. "Mr G" is cool too. Forgive me, but I never really caught on to Neo Games, what did I miss?
  12. I'm from a little further south...Victoria, Australia!
  13. I agree. I think the first Burton Batman movie was the best by far. It was so gothic, had an amazing soundtrack by Danny Elfman and Jack Nicholas was perfect as the Joker.
  14. Gallop: Armed Police Unit is a fun little shooter, by Irem, the same makers of the classic R-Type series. Hmmm...I have never played Carmageddon 2, but now that you recommend it GryphonKlaw, I'll have to try it. Thanks mate. I liked the first Carmageddon as well. I never played the first Thief...but I thought Thief 2: The Metal Age was one of the best games I have ever played on PC. The best games, films, books, music, and all forms of art...are those you find outside the "mainstream." There is a game on Amiga called International Ninja Rabbits, which is fun for at least a little while. Is that what you are referring to, Sane?
  15. For Street Fighter Alpha games, I usually use Ken...but I also like using Sagat and Vega. For Street Fighter 3 games, I use Ken again, but I also love using Hugo, because of his ultra powerful (and cool looking) moves, the way you can build up his defence by taunting, and because he looks so...scary! It's cool. He reminds me abit of Leather Face from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
  16. Toki was such a great game!!!! I didn't like Bionic Commando though. Carmageddon TDR 2000 is fun.
  17. My friend had a power glove for his NES. He barely used it. He only used it for landing the plane in Top Gun, because he thought it was easier that way, rather than using the gamepad. I miss the old days. Games were actually...EXCITING...back then. *sniff*
  18. Well, I have been playing since the Atari and Amiga 500 eras. I love my Amiga 500 and still play its classics to this day. And I love retrogaming. I guess I'm old school.
  19. It only runs on Mame 32 plus. Now, the Mame 32 plus you are trying to use, did you get it bundled in a.rar file with kof 2k3? If you downloaded them seperatley, your generic version of Mame 32 plus won't work...it has to be an ultra sooper dooper special compiled version. This only comes with the rom, in a.rar file. If that doesn't help, then maybe your download is corrupt, bad CRCs and so on. Hope I helped you, Alundra.
  20. I'm having lots of fun with this game. I think the inclusion of The Griffon and the ommission of Andy is a good move - I'm really having fun playing as the Griffon because his moves have been simplified from MOTW (I'm no good at those 360 and 720 motions.) Terry looks really cool in his Garou outfit, and other characters like Malin, Shen Woo and Duo Lon are fun to use too. But...I just discovered that...apparently Ash Crimson is supposed to be a boy! WHAT! I always thought Ash was a girl!!!
  21. I'm not sure if you are allowed to post links to other boards... ...but if you have an Amiga query that everyone is stumped on, head over to the English Amiga Board. It has heaps of Amiga emu buffs, such as myself, that can help. I still love playing my Amiga, and transfering adfs to it and so on. My favourite game developers were the Bitmap Brothers (Gods and Speedball 2) and Psygnosis (Shadow of the Beast series), but there were many, many others.
  22. I'm 22, yet everyone says I look like a teenager, and act like a toddler.
  23. I'm on the net late at night, from 9pm to about 1 am, so that's when I post.
  24. Yay! I finally got it working! What a cool game! I like the animations, and the music, and the intro. Right now, I'm getting into using Malin and her knives. Don't know if it's my favourite Kof, but it's really fun to play! And the game runs pretty well on my P2 350 war horse, with 128 ram. Slightly choppy, but playable.
