run a chankast disk with daemeon tools
Agozer replied to meterking's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
Chankast works well with DT (or any other virtual drive software), but it's picky. Either Chankast is acting up again or the disc you are trying to beet is not self-boot. It's worth noting that certain sources recommend using DT 3.29 with Chankast, as it seems to work best. After all that's said though, no emulation fan should even consider touching Chankast these days, and it is indeed pathetic as far as DC emulation goes. Sure, it was the best back in the day, but Demul and nullDC have far surpassed it (Makaron too, but that one difficult to use and actually get games to run, because it's so damn picky about certain BIOS aspects + no proper, functional GUI yet). -
What exactly is his current situation?

A Radeon 7000 is not good enough to run Rice or Glide64 properly. The tester bundled with Glide64 should confirm this. Update your drivers to the latest Catalyst drivers that still have support for 7xxx, and forget using anything other than Jabo's Direct3D6 (and subsequently, forget custom textures), because that card/chips is even below the minimum requirements for Project64's default plugins. A first generation Radeon card doesn't get you very far in emulation and PC games, to say the least.

That's hi-octane nightmare fuel right there

You are not blogging, you are posting a question on a message board. Plugins need to be put in a folder named Plugin in order for them to be usable.

As a regular chapter, the last chapter was good. As a chapter that ends the manga, it was ridiculously weak. I'm not blaming the authors though, I'm blaming Shounen Jump and it's subscribers. I'm just hoping that the authors opt to do a "second series" of sorts, that would tie a lot of loose ends, and perhaps concentrate more on the whole "Ruler of the universe" aspect. At the very least I hope the authors decide to start a completely new manga together, because Yabuki Kentarou is great at drawing.

Maximo is okay, but doesn't hold a candle to Ratchet and Jak.

How old exactly and what ATI chip does it have?

You might find both Drakengard games (although they can get repetitive, and are action RPGs) you cup of tea. I personally like those two. Second is better than the first, but ok. hmm... Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and Fatal Shadows

d3dx9_34.dll is a part of an optional DirectX9c installation. Use the DirectX Web updater to get it. The other file is a part of the Microsoft C Runtime Library. You can get both of these files from various DLL repositories on the Internet, and just put them in Project64's directory. If your video card can handle it, you should use Glide64 over Rice though. Rice is rather pathetic as far as graphics plugins go, IMO. It's only being used because it was the first one to have support for custom textures.

Nice to hear you're actually doing something with your life.

No, not really.

The simplest answer is: If you only play a single game, and you never intend to play any other GBA game, then manually setting VBA's emulated savetype to Flash 128K (which supposedly is the correct savetype for FireRed) is the only thing you need to do. The vba-over.ini file is for the majority of users who play lots of GBA games and don't want to face the risk of one day accidentally selecting a wrong savetype (or rather, always having to make sure that they set the proper savetype for problematic games) for a game they plan on playing, thus corrupting their save. Using vba-over.ini and adding entries to it makes sure that each game uses the correct savetype automatically. If you use VBA only for one game, then obviously this doesn't concern you.

Again, an excerpt from the first post:

Yep, that's God Hand. Clearly not for everyone, and the controls, graphics etc. are all designed like that for a reason. Like I said, it's certainly not for everyone, but those who like it (myself included) categorize it as one of the best and extremely underrated game. It was developed by now-defunct Clover Studio, which did Okami and Viewtiful Joes. Grandia III has a great battle system, but the story is arguably fairly weak. same with Grandia Xtreme. Couple more: 10,000 Bullets (J and PAL only, somewhat a cross between Gungrave and Max Payne. Difficult game, but oh so good) Fate/unlimited Codes ( J only) Melty Blood: Actress Again (J only) SkyGunner Musashi: Samurai Legend (Action RPG, you might like it) Bujingai: Swordmaster (a DMC-ish game from Taito) Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2 Shinobi Nightshade

Depends on what kind of genres you like, but I'll just list a bunch here: Gold of War I & II (obviously) God Hand Devil May Cry Tales of the Abyss Tales of Legendia Everything developed by Gust, VanillaWare and Nippon Ichi Xenosaga Episode I -III Gungrave: Overdose Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King Forbidden Siren 2 (no US release, PAL/J only) Gradius V Grandia II ICO Shadow of the Colossus Haunting Ground Jak 1-3 Ratchet and Clank 1-3 Kingdom Hearts I-II Onimusha 1-4 Project Zero 3 (Fatal Frame 3 for you yanks) R-Type Final Shadow Hearts 1-3 Rogue Galaxy Any Shin Megami Tensei game, though preferably Persona 3 or 4 Star Ocean Till the End of Time Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria We Love Katamari Wild ARMs 3-5 WipEout Fusion / WipEout Pulse Zone of the Enders 1-2 Berserk (J release only) Mushihimesama (J release only) SSX 3 DoDonpachi Dai-Ojou (J release only) Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes (J release only) There's more, but they're more "good - great" than best

Pokemon Yellow is a GameBoy game. Pokemon FireRed is a GameBoy Advance game. Two completely different systems. Also, from the first post:

That is how you are supposed to do it. If you have started a game with the wrong savetype, you can't just switch to the correct savetype and resume play; you'll have to start from the beginning. You have yourself to blame, if you've played for hours upon hours with the wrong savetype and haven't tried to save your game even once. If you had, it wouldn't be such a huge setback to start from scratch.

Have you actually read the the first post in this thread?

What? To-Love Ru is going to end? For good? Damn. Well it's been 18 volumes so far, so it's still fairly long manga, but I wonder if Yabuki and Hasemi can create a decent ending with just 7 chapters.

So yeah, I having trouble with an XML --> XHTML transformation using XSL. More specifically I want to count the number of nodes with specific data and then output the result. My XML structure is something like this: <people> <person> <name>Mary</name> <sex>Yes please</sex> <note>bring condoms, bring wine, wears expensive lingerie</note> </person> <person> <name>Felli</name> <sex>Yes please</sex> <note>loli with a twist, mean eye</note> </person> <person> <name>Helga</name> <sex>Hell no</sex> <note>Huge girth, needs eyebleach</note> </person> <person> <name>Jenna</name> <sex>Yes please</sex> <note>bring wine, pornstar, blonde</note> </person> </people> ... etc. etc. What I'm trying to do is to count (using XSLT count() function or any other suitable XSLT method) the number of persons with both the sex element containing "yes please" as well as the note element containing the words "bring wine". I have traversed the Intarwebs for months, steering asway from porn, searching high and low, and have found lots of would-be examples, just not the one I'm looking for. All my past efforts have produced incorrect results or a result of 0, so there's something I'm doing wrong - I just can't figure out what.

Musashi: Samurai Legend aka Musashiden II. Much better than many review give it credit, although the targeting system is a hit-and-miss, and the voice acting is pretty damn horrible.

Dammit! and Woohoo! at the same time

Great. I wish I knew what I want from my life. The way things are now, I'm just drifting; not knowing what to do or where to go - let alone know where I'll ultimately end up. To put it in simpler words: I hate the future.
