  1. BIN/CUE image format is not selfboot. Meaning that no Dreamcast emulator, not to mention the actual console, will boot that game without the aid of a bootdisc (which is probably why nullDC developers ditched support for that image format. Why people still rip Dreamcast games as BIN/CUE is beyond me - or rather, why those haven't been abolished from the Internet. Considering that bootdisc usage is a hit-and-miss affair with emulators (Utopia supposedly works, sometimes) and adds one more hurdle to jump over, I'd suggest that you ditch the image you have and look for a selfboot image instead. For the record, all other image formats used these days are self-boot and only the BIN/CUE pairing is non-selfboot because it only supports one data track. Note: The "right" way to load games in nullDC is to use File --> Normal Boot, which let's you choose the disc image you want to use (if you are using the gdrImage plugin). Options --> GDRom --> Use Default Image is for those who want to immediately start a game whenever nullDC is started, and not bother themselves with choosing a disc image to boot, i.e. the default disc image to load every time.
  2. Which makes it even more of an incentive for him to actually look at the emulator menus and settings himself.
  3. Both nullDc and Demul can work with disc images directly, so there is no need for mounting nor virtual drives. nullDc use its imageReader plugin by default, probably Demul too (gdrImage). Just make sure that you have the right plugins selected and configured (if they need any configuration, usually just selecting the image plugin as the active CD-ROM plugin suffices).
  4. We don't need to know where you got the game, you don't have to tell us. Warned. I know this may sound a bit cold-hearted, but if you don't know anything about emulation, then Dreamcast emulation is probably the last place for you to start. Furthermore, educate yourself. This isn't a place where give you step-by step instructions regarding every single detail, when it's clear that you haven't done done anything to help yourself. What we can give you are the names of some of the more usable emulators for starters. nullDC and Demul are good choices. Continue from here by reading whatever documentation a given emulator has, and then fiddle around with the emulator itself, just to get a feel for it. If the emulator doesn't have any decent documentation, fiddle with the emulator anyway. It's not like it's going to blow up your computer if you happened to check the "wrong" settings. You can also ask us to clarify any error messages that you might encounter plus other questions you might have, but for the love of god, don't expect us to tell you how to use an emulator and a game from start to finish. If you are going to pirate something, at least make an effort to figure out how to work with the stuff you have.
  5. No useless gravedigging.
  6. Whats that on? PlayStation 2.
  7. IIRC, you can't choose a woman as a player character in Sunset Riders.
  8. The very rare PAL version of Wild ARMs 5. Good times.
  9. I don't understand. Any of this. Your cut-and-paste job sucks, btw. How can you tell us ignore K's face when it's basically the centerpiece of the whole thing?
  10. Sorry, no dice. The only track I could find fitting the description is on the Scitron Spring Fair '97 Sampler Disc (Dance in the Sky). The official soundtrack is notoriously hard to find, evident by the lack of collectors owning said soundtrack - as far as Internet sources are to be believed anyway. So to find a rip of the disc in any format is even more unlikely.
  11. I can't find the soundtrack from any of my web sources, so I'll check DC++ in a bit.
  12. Nice! You won't regret it. If you're a perfectionist though, I would recommend following a good FAQ as there are a lot of missables and one-time things that can affect the outcome of the game. You may also want to save at certain key points so you can experience some of the different endings. Yeah, it's one of those game that require a FAQ is you want 100% completion. I remember setting up a level grind spot later in the game, in the Future with one of the factories' conveyor belts. Endless stream of robots to smash. Lavos wasn't much of a challenge after that, although it does take a ridiculous amount of beating to go down. Beating Lavos in the earliest point possible with just Chrono and Marle, now that was fun... plus the hardest optional boss, which was the only time I had to rely on savestates mid-fight - and the fight still took a fucking long time.
  13. Most "ye olde" Square RPGs have aged well, Chrono Trigger included. *Still remembers Queen Zeal* That bitch. The final battle with Lavos is something that I'll remember for a long time, plus, how you could decide when to fight Lavos. Chrono Trigger completed in ~15 minutes FTW.
  14. You guys are just pissy because you didn't get one.
  15. I don't drink. I'm a borderline absolutist. I do have one or two drinks of the event I'm attending "requires" for it, but that's pretty much it.
  16. Just finished ICO. What a game.
  17. I'll do it.
  18. Who the heck uses VBR? It's too inconsistent in algo quality, and hard drives aren't tiny anymore...320kbps CBR or nothing. A lot of people really. Not that it matters to me personally. Most of my stuff is in either CBR or VBR, and I don't really care about "inconsistencies in algo quality".
  19. GameTrailers, The Escapist, FARK, GorillaMask, I-Mockery, Hardcore Gaming 101, Speed Demos Archive, NewGrounds occasionally, hiimdaisy
  20. Since they are BIOS files, don't expect to get an answer here. Besides, you should know better than to ask for roms of any kind here.
  21. No, Midnight Resistance doesn't not use BIOS files. Your romset is outdated. PAL roms were added to midres and clones in 0.106u13. No, those aren't BIOS files, per se, just previously undumped ROMs from the arcade board. Cyber Lip is a Neo-Geo games, so yes, it uses the Neo-Geo BIOS, and you are missing some of the files in the Neo-Geo BIOS. Namely, you are missing the Debug BIOS and the Neo-Geo AES BIOS files (why would something like the Debug BIOS be considered a "must" in the BIOS set is anyone's guess). You are also missing the M1 ROM for Cyber Lip.
  22. Some Rogue Galaxy and Grandia III. Fun times.
  23. Midnight Resistance doesn't use external BIOS files.
  24. Verisitic said what I was thinking. I kinda wish I had some technique to help me study, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find such. I fucking wish I had photographic memory.
  25. Use a FLAC-LAME combo with flac -d -c "filename.flac" | lame --preset standard - "filename.mp3" if you want better than VBR ~190kbps, use --preset extreme or insane
