  1. I would personally like to see some kind of a breakthrough of the second variety. Then again, I don't really have a problem if people just VM the whole shebang.
  2. TPB has trackers, and to my understanding no part of the so-called acquisition has been truly finalized, now that it has come to light that whoever (forgot its name) planned to "buy" TPB, suddenly doesn't have the cash to buy TPB, and the company in question has a shady past. It's supposedly currently trying to negotiate with the content industries and pitching their idea. TPBs true trackers have been scattered all over the globe for a good while now, and the company that was supposed to take charge of the Legal TPB certainly doesn't own any of them. Until there's an official entry in the TPB blog regarding the current state of affairs, I don't see any reason why people should shun away from TPB.
  3. Which version of ePSXe are you using?
  4. Downloading emulators from websites is never risky. They're just a piece of software, that isn't in any way illegal. Downloading PC games from websites... unless you are talking about abandonware, I don't see a problem. Furthermore, considering the amount of people downloading ROMs from websites, the ones who will get the heat eventually will be the site operators, not the visitors. About those emails: I would consider those fishing in the dark unless you get a second one. Also, seconded about uTorrent.
  5. Pay attention to the dates when you post even when it's stickied. This thread serves no other purpose other than giving people a few links. Furthermore, the topic starter is one post wonder that hasn't come back since. Since this thread truly serves no purpose anymore, it will be unstickied.
  6. How can a series which has a) Your party fighting a resurrected Hitler (probably one of the myriad of reasons why Innocent Sin was never localized) Highschoolers shooting themselves in the head in order to awaken hidden powers c) You "surviving" the end of the world (i.e. the apocalypse) d) Your party's alter egos literally devouring enemies just to level up faster e) More references to every single religion known to man than you can shake a stick at f) TVs which suck you in to parallel world, forcing you to wear special glasses just to see properly g) Negotiating with demons of all kind just to get them on your side h) A huge tower that, by all accounts leads to Nirvana, should you conquer it; but things are just never that simple. i) Numerous occurrences of muscular men, with slight gay undertones (no, not Cho Aniki) j) People around you having their darker side manifesting in a physical form, which you have to defeat. k) A dating gameplay mechanic, which is arguably more fun that the rest of the game on occasion. j) The Velvet Room, Igor and his "secretary". not be great?
  7. Now I might finally start thinking seriously about buying a PS3, backwards compatibility or not.
  8. Please don't channel anymore Fatal or I'm really going to delete this thread. There's a very distinct line between "good taste" and "Fatal territory".
  9. Pete's OpenGL2 plugin, P.e.O.p.s Soft plugin (if you're into software rendering) and Eternal SPU 1.50 Beta 2.
  10. *gamegasm* Another reason to own a PSP, which I still don't own. :/ P.S. Burn My Dread is awesome. 5 levels of difficulty is a bit overkill, but ok.
  11. Don't ask for BIOS files in any shape or form. I thought the rules were clear on this.
  12. File --> Change Disc --> ISO (if you are using ePSXe's own disc image loading method). P.S. It would be nice if you didn't frankenstein threads that have been dead for two years.
  13. It came out a long time ago, but thanks for posting anyway.
  14. Holy crap when was that 2001? lol A long fucking time ago. I remember lurking around and witnessing some of that Eugen Popovici debacle, not counting the times years later when he decided to come back.
  15. Story of my life more or less. The place I live used to have lots of kinds when I was growing up, but after some years, most families moved out (or their kids moved out). So now I'm either the only one, or one of the very few "oldies" that still live here, and now only a lot of old people live here. So yeah, most of my friends have moved farther away and basically have their "own shit going on" (like you put it), so my list of friends has dwindled from a few dozen to just a couple over the years, and most live so far away that it's not really an option for either them or me to just get together for a day and do stuff. Anyway, back on topic sorta. I deal with depression by simply dealing with it. I don't know how lse to put it, because I just dwell in it for a while and then move on, waiting for the next depression to hit. I play video games and listen to angry music I guess.
  16. All 3D hardware emulated in MAME is emulated in software, so it's going to be far slower than regular 3D accelerated stuff. However, with your computer, I suppose it would be possible to play Soul Calibur and the like in MAME, although I'll say nothing about the actual experience.
  17. I like this thread. Another one for the 1Emulation Archives.
  18. I not very surprising to hear that someone hasn't beaten the original Castlevania - nor any of the NES Castlevanias for that matter. It was hard for a reason, and many just couldn't cope with that. Classic Nintendo Hard.
  19. Take a break, and then come back. There will always be immature dicks on the Internet, and this place is hardly an exception. Besides, you are one of the more sane members here, and a kind of person who seems to really get into whatever lengthy conversations we have. So it's really a bummer to see you come to this conclusion. I have to agree with some of the people who posted that things were a lot more chaotic way back, when and things have since mellowed out considerably (in a both good and bad way). If there's something I can do to convince you to stay, or even come back after your break, I'm all ears. Most people who leave simply leave without saying anything and disappear, so it's kinda disheartening to see a thread from a long-time member suddenly announcing that he/she has had enough, even more so when their reasons are something else than Real Life™ getting in the way. So yeah, do reconsider. This is the Internet after all.
  20. Depends on your preference. MAME runs everything (obviously), CPS3Emulator is only for CPS3 (obviously) and I think FBA supports CPS1-CPS3, too.
  21. CPS-3 emulation has been more or less perfect for a good while now. Again, what really matters is not so much the uberness of the graphics card or tons of RAM. Generally you just need a fast processor. While Dreamcast and PS2 emulation do benefit from video card with high RAM, 1GB is overkill no matter how you slice it. Not that overkill hurts... it's just, well, overkill. I wouldn't expect flawless performance across the board from any PS2 or Dreamcast emulator, though. High specs notwithstanding.
  22. Had you bothered to search the board or even glance at some of the topics stickied at the topic of this forum section, you wouldn't be asking that question. Also: pay attention to the dates when posting. Gravedigging is not tolerated.
  23. Wouldn't that one be considered a glamour model? Or is there some other term for these types?
  24. Huge religious connections?
