Personally, I don't care if the majority of the PSP's launch titles are either ports or remakes of the originals; they're still fun, no matter what the medium might be.

Try Pete's OpenGL 1.x plugin. It usually fixes thingsfor cards that don't like OGL2 for whatever reason. What graphic card do you have anyway? I suggest you also try other SPU plugins. ePSXe sometimes takes a bit of work to get working smoothly on different hardware configurations. In the worst case scenario, I think that your images might be borked (but let's not throw away all hope yet).
