yeah I am Does that have anything to do with it? Well, it's not the best option available, for one. Get Daemon Tools and mount your PSX images with that. If the problem still persists, you either have hardware-related issues that interfere with the actual emulation, or you CD image is fuxored.

It's weird that in the PAL version of Final Fantasy VI, the Blitzes are *extremely* easy to pull off, while in the SNES version they're almost impossible without the aid of predefined combo buttons.
