Dooz Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I hate this sue-crazy America. Anyways, I'm too poor to buy cool stuff, so I don't think I'll be stopping my pirating ways anytime soon. Maybe if I become a millionaire, but until then, no. Also, I'm smart enough not to download off of p2p programs. There are better ways.
ugenn Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 For software, switch to open source where possible. This will REALLY piss off those idiot companies. Cos you're STILL downloading, and best of all, you're doing it LEGALLY now, and their crapware sales will continue to dwindle. Best way to show them the finger, IMO.
i l l m a t i c Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 My question to you is, what would it take for you to change your downloading habits?Nope
Agozer Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I just download VGM, anime and a few ISOs. I read somewhere that some japanese animation studios are quite pleased that there are fansubbing projects.
Wizard Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Tokyo Pop actually uses fansub scripts and improves/degrades them. Same goes with ADV.
Ryuken Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 if companies were smart enough they would have their software on sale !! and when u send them the rebate they just rip it or make up reason that say the rebate didn't work
Wizard Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 It's up to the publishers. They control almost everything after the game is developed and shipped.
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I have a 56k and that hasn't stopped my warez ass from getting all the shietI want!! Living in a backwater country is actually paying off once!!
Shibathedog Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 i dont download movies because they are often in crap quality, i would rather do them myself, i dont really download music too often either, i just listen to internet radio. as for games, i dont even really pirate those anymore, because if you dont have a valid serial, you cant play online, so whats the point?
Agozer Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 as for games, i dont even really pirate those anymore, because if you dont have a valid serial, you cant play online, so whats the point?Heh, what's the point in playing online?
Diso Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 as for games, i dont even really pirate those anymore, because if you dont have a valid serial, you cant play online, so whats the point?Heh, what's the point in playing online? You can play on cracked servers but nowadays, Its better to buy the games. I mean, why download doom3 and half life 2 and call of duty 2. They're uber elite awesome (And doom is a classic)
Aoshi Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I think the gov and corp agencies should start embracingfor the consumers not the sellers free is cool illegal selling is notim not sying it is a 100% good thing but dl things sometimes makes me deciede whether i want to buy something or notcracked software is another category but it may also help develop communities i seeit also as a bad thing but i have no problem with free warezthe feds should crack down on paid arez sites they suck
someboddy Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I will only stop my illegal downloads when video games drop from 90$ a game back to 30$, and when the video-games stores in israel will get the latet games.
valovedder Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I see no problem with using p2p for these reasons.Downloading games for systems older than psx. The companies r no longer making money from these systems as their are no longer new games available. They make no money from second hand software sales, so the y should have no problem.I also use p2p as a way of testing things out. i.e if there is an album i'm not too sure i wil like i download it, listen, if i like i buy, if i don't i delete the file.
Jiggs Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 The crackdown on UDG is a bad joke. They pull numbers out of their collective ass and just flat-out made crap up. But, regardless, I'm sure they'll crucify those 5 hubowners.
