Agozer Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 I have so many VGM favorites I can't count, but anyways... I guess Guilty Gear rubs me the right way, but even so, I have to give credit for everything Tenpei Sato has composed (Disgaea, Phantom Brave, La Pucelle).
wacko_jacko Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Final Fantasy X-2 English version of 1000 Words & Real Emotion - Forgot who sung it though
darkmage479 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 the best game soundtrack EVER: Super Castlevania 4. I remember being awed by the quality of the soundtrack, and i can safely say i'm jaded because i've played the violin for 14 years. Techno pipe organ (especially in the opening and final boss tracks) = r0x0r.

AntiWinner22 Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Cowboy Bebop. Hands down THE SINGLE greatest soundtrack. Yoko Kanno is genius. Every track is pure heaven. If you don't believe me, listen to "Goodnight Julia" and "See You Space Cowboy..." On the gameside, Jet Set Radio is great. Fit the game PERFECTLY. Hideki Naganuma crafted this masterpiece to a T. Anon.
Weirdy Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 the Neon Genesis Evangellion OST wasn't that bad. 4 remakes of the same fuucken song!!! >_< (the ED)
Sultan Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Cowboy Bebop especially Blue and No DiscBack in high school the soundtrack to Trainspotting was my favorite album for a long time. Very good, everyone should have those.
KyokugenKiss Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 In General my fav OST is from Hedwig and the Angry inch in video games I will have to say Silent Hill 3 (Hometown is a wonderful song!)
Smilee Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Cowboy Bebop has one of my favorite OST the music fits perfectly well with each episode. JSRF OST fits it oddly well. And uh The Sims the music is catchy.
Chaotica Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 (edited) Favourite movie soundtrack: the first Batman movie. Danny Elfman is a master, and the whole album is a masterpiece, suiting the movie's gothic feel very well. "Descent Into Mystery" is one and a half minutes of gothic paradise. Favourite game soundtrack: the Diablo 2 soundtrack. Matt Uelmen is another master, and the combination of slow, haunting songs, and sharper, menacing orchestral scores make playing Diablo 2 still a very memorable (and scary) experience today, even though the game is quite old. An honourable mention are some of the tunes found in the classic Dooms. They may be basic midi tunes, but nearly all seem to evoke dread and another negative emotions within you as you play. The music when you take on two Barons of Hell at the end of the first episode is my favourite - I think it is used again on the first level of episode four in Thy Flesh Consumed. Agozer Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Speaking of anime OSTs, very few top anything made by Yuki Kajiura (her most notable compositions have been for NOIR and.hack//SIGN).
