The swap trick is incredibly hard to perform. i would recommend just getting a chip. theyre not very expensive at all, and quite easy to install.

i heard there was a swap trick you could play backups with except those that use the ram cart

It is possible with a ram cart, it's just EXTREMELY hard to preform so.

Ok here is the lowdown on doing the swap trick with a ram cart game. (assuming you havea us saturn)

Im not giving the timing just the procedure.

Place the converter in the cart slot.

First thing is the initial swap. Place the copied disc, then load it, swap out with an original

Second swap, take the orignal disc then place it in

Third swap, take the original back out and place the copy in

When game loads, take out the converter cart and place ram cart in the slot.

4 swaps. And a big pain to do it successfully. ive only dont it once, then got a midchip the next day.

I did the swap trick without a Ram Cart.

I dont recommend it since its so hard and it doesnt work for all backups. Chips are cheap and the saturn is an easy board to solder. Dont know how easy it is to find a chip these days or a saturn for that matter but do the chip thing.

DanManXZ, I don't think so, but some do let you play imports. Maybe you're confusing it with the PSX version? Lancerx, it's not too difficult to find sites selling the Saturn mod-chip, it's just a matter of if it's in stock. To find more info about the swap trick, go to SegaXteme and check out the Help & FAQs section. There should be a Saturn swap trick tutorial.

There are ram carts that let you play backup games.

No there are not, please don't spread false information.

Anyway, you can buy chips at Jandaman. I bought mine there and he shipped it to the Netherlands in about 1.5 weeks. The guy has great service, he knows a lot and will help you if you have problems. Other than that, all technical info can be found at Segaxtreme like Spider said.

One thing you have to be mindfull of when you buy a chip is that you need a model 2 saturn (model 2 has round buttons, model 1 oval). There are no longer chips being made for model 1 saturns.
