Jitway Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 So how many modded consoles you own and what are the modded with. I own a Saturn modded with Saturn modchip and it is easy to install 2 wires and plugs in to board for rest works really great A playstation 1 modded with a Steath 4 wire modchip easy to intall A playstation 2 fat modded with the Messiah 2 very good modchip but very hard to install lots of soldering 24 wires A playstation 2 slim modded with DMS4 EZI PRO SE Solderless for slim cases very easy to install and works great A XBox modded with Solderless Xecuter X3 CE modchip v1.6 great chip easy to install A Gamecube modded with Viper GC Extreme good chip only 4 wires fairly easy to install A Wii modded with the DriveKey Solderless probably the easiest modchip I have ever installed and works fantastic So had great success in doing all this but have to say toasted my very first fat ps2 which was a drag at 200 bills wasted. But being able to backup games is a plus to say the least.
Inky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 softmodded Wii that no one never playssoftmodded Xbox that also has a xecuter 2 in it but it was giving problems. I use it exclusively as a media center.flashed Xbox 360. main gaming machinejailbroken Ipod Touch 2nd gen. Agozer Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 A PlayStation 2 slim modded with an unknown chip (It's not Matrix Infinity nor Modbo). Doesn't have screen centering for NTSC PSX games - which is why I don't play PSX backups with it.
fumanchu Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 xbox1 chipped and use for emulation360 flashed with ixtreme 1.4dreamcast homebrew friendly out of the boxfat ps2 with swap magic 3.6sega saturn chipped with a region switch and 50/60hz switch.psp not flashed yet but is soon going to be,if i can get my finger out and actually do it.
The-Ice-Man Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Just the good old Xbox modded with an Xecuter 2 Lite Plus. No wires or solder anywhere, and the pogo pins have never let me down once in all these years. All my other consoles aren't modded.
Shibathedog Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I actually go out of my way to do as little modification as possible, If I can get away with a swap disc/trick or a softmod I'll do it. Not because I don't like soldering but because those mod chips are a serious ripoff. They are worth like 5 dollars at the very most. Especially since you don't ever need one with the Xbox, just softmod, flash TSOP, restore HDD to stock/remove softmod. I will do modifications like adding better cooling a lot though. A lot of just for fun stuff too. The Saturn swap trick is a bitch though. You have to be FAST.
Lucandrake Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 To those who are experienced Xbox modders, is it possible to soft-mod an Xbox to run everything that a hard-mod Xbox can run? If so do you think you can make a topic posting steps , my friend has an Xbox (still works, it's one of the originals, even brought the big control when bought) and he said he'd give it to me if I could do it. Would I need to buy a HD? To remain on topic... I've flashed about 3 PsP's, only one was mine.My Wii.Had a PS1 that was modded (bought it in Ecuador, don't know what chip it had).
Cominus Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 1 xbox modded with the aladin chip which is for sale if anybody wants, shoot me an offer.
ken_cinder Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Had a chipped Saturn, sold it. Sorry rabid fanboys, I can count the good games for it on one hand and most of them are NOT what the sheep like.Sold my 3DO (Again!), like the Dreamcast I have it doesn't require modding. Still have:Qoob Pro chipped Gamecube2x TSOP flashed Xbox's (I've had dozens modded in every way, but they don't count as they were profit)Fat PS2 running FMCBDSLite w/R4
Krosigrim Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Softmodded XboX with um... Evolution-X dash and MamedOX Plat 2. Yea thats older but I never got a replacement HDD. I have 1 Gig left on factory one. I want to get a big HDD and run Unleashx. Then Ill dump a shit ton of emu's and roms, and have a few movies to boot, just because. Ill also have all sorts of nifty add ons like that comic book (pdf?) reader and the whatever the point and click emulator is called... (sam and max etc) Soon Im buying a Cyclone for my DS. I'll get a good micro SD chip though, and take a lesson from my friends mistake. His bought an El-cheapo and it will randomly corrupt when he hooks it up to the PC. I plan on going crazy with the DS games, there are quite a few that I like, quite a few. I still didn't mod my sisters Wii... so that will be happening sooner or later.
The-Ice-Man Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 1 gig left on a factory hard drive? Your poor neglected box. Quickly install a 500 gig drive and XBMC as your primary dash, with Evox or Unleash as a backup. Then copy all your games to the hard drive so you never have to put a CD in again. Fill the rest with emus and roms. I have 1 gig left on 250 gig drive, on it are around 90 xbox games, 200 arcade games, 160 Mega Drive/Mega CD games, 50 SNES games, some GBA games and as of today 250 Amiga games. I'm now thinking I should upgrade again to a 500 gig as I need room for more xbox games that I haven't tried, and new romsets. I don't have any movies, pictures or songs on by box. If I had a 500 gig drive I might, but not now, games are more important.
Shibathedog Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 You don't even need to go that big I have a 320GB HDD and I have: 85 Xbox gamesCoinOPS R1 with a full setA Full verified Goodset of NES, SNES, Genesis (and 32X+CD), Gameboy/Color (Only a few GBA), and N64 (don't bother with N64 lol I'll probably delete this eventually, It's quite a few GBs too)A Few PSX gamesSome random homebrew games/apps I still have about 70GB free. (How do you only have 1GB on a 250 with seemingly less stuff Ice Man?) The trick is DON'T put music and movies on your xbox. Just stream them over the network, much easier that way anyway because you can just share your downloads folder and it's always up to date/ready to watch.
The-Ice-Man Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 That's just the way it is. Maybe it's coz I have PAL games, PAL games are always bigger than NTSC, sometimes by a lot. It's all the multi-language stuff. The average PAL game is 4GB. I trim what I can getting rid of French/German/Spanish folders where I can. But in most games there's nothing you can do. A 320 would see me fine for a few more games, and if I wanted full romsets, but if I do upgrade I may as well go 500 and then I'd have plenty of space.
