fumanchu Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 They haven't announced an arcade release yet. Personally, I don't see this heading to arcades at all. Would it really be able to compete with Tekken, SC and VF? Not even thinking about 3S or KoF... My hopes are high but my expectations aren't.i dont see why not.streetfighter3ts has been in the japanese top ten playlist for years,so sure why not it will definetly be an arcade release well i think so.
Wizard Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Well it's assumed it's hitting the arcades in Japan and just plain console releases else where. No confirmations have been said, but telling from the official screenshot. It could be Sys256 or Taito's Type-X board. As both can do Prog-Scan but not HD. Which raises the possbility that they consider it for Wii as well beyond the PS3 and 360.
BlackKnight Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 But this game won't necessarily be of the same standard as 3S. I'd love to be wrong here but I think SF4, to sell, will need to be a flashy console fighter with a lot of fanservice... not necessarily a deep competitive fighter. Do we still even know who the devs are?

Do we still even know who the devs are?Capcom of Japan internal staff; CFJ's Production Team + All the other people who developed Dawn of Dreams with Producer Yoshinori Ono. Works include Capcom Fighting Jam, Onimusha, Dawn of Dreams, Chaos Legion and Shadow of Rome. do you think capcom are out of the hardware side of it now and just depending on other companies?ps is that the taito type x2 board? Seeing as how they haven't made an arcade board since 1997. Duh.
BlackKnight Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Capcom stopped a while back. After / during the CPS-3 period they started using Sega's NAOMI for games and haven't looked back since. Most recently they've been on System 246 with CFJ, and the cancelled Allstars.
Wizard Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Well, we have a confirmation from that BR blog; This was posted on GAF from someone at EGM. Hey guys...I just left this comment on Kotaku's story that's blasting us, but my account's waiting for approval: Guys, maybe a little journalistic investigating before you blast us? Howabout talking to Ziff Davis to get the "full story"? This guy did not getthe information from an "anonymous source." He's a freelancer for EGM Brazilwho finally admitted to them that he did not have a source, but rather, stole the information from our servers (we have IP logs for this). He usedhis working relationship with EGM Brazil, stole a password, and tookinformation from our story and posted it up before we could. If one of Kotaku's freelancers stole a password to steal a scoop, would thatbe cool? I'd be OK with it if, indeed, he had a source that leaked theinformation (I stood up for Kotaku for that very act in last year's Sonydebacle). But that's not what's happened. What he did was just outrightillegal, irresponsible, and is not what journalists are supposed to do. Please, next time, before blasting us...maybe get the other side of thestory? So yes, we have IP-logged proof and a confession that this guy stole our story. We also know this because he had info directly from the EGM story, without an actual copy of the issue in hand (he was able to read the story and translate it from our servers via the password he stole). That's why we went after him. It wasn't because he scooped us with his own investigative reporting. I'm really disappointed Kotaku didn't bother to get any facts first before publishing the story. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p...;postcount=1402 So the screenshots are legit, as for the rest of the information. We're going to wait officially.
Gryph Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I hate that kotaku has become a major gaming news site. That place has little to no journalistic credibility. flock blog journalism.

It was thinking like "graphics are out of date" no one would have played smash bros, and lets face it, Smash bros has little next gen graphics but beats nearly half of the ps2/xobx game roster! BlackKnight Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 1) Kotaku has gone downhill. 2) It's all about the visual style. SSB has a distinct look which works fine despite less technically impressive graphics. I think SF4 is capable of the same as long as they fix Ken's mongoloid face.
Fatal Rose Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I hope the game play feels more next Gen and fresh then the graphics.
