I'm waiting until the Revolution struts it's stuff. So far I've been thuroughly unimpressed by either Sony or Microsoft.

i too wish i can be that optimistic. i was realy impressed with what 360 brought, so far at least.

anyways, after watching the confrence for ps3, it has given me a feeling that they are gonna "bring it", that sony has given us a reason to not underestimate them. With the way Ninendo has performed in the past couple years with Gamecube, i cant help but feel unexcited. I'm interested to see how it looks like everyone else. but barely announcing that they finally can play DVDs is not much of an accomplishment. they better have something big to offer bc so far, 360 (sorta) and the ps3 has set the bar pretty high. thats my tired opinion =P

If nintendo doesnt pull a actuall revolution this time around, do you think they'll end up like sega or stick to handhelds?

to me, it would make ssense to stick with software. sega hasnt done too bad with software only. i mean, imagine, Legend of Zelda on Ps3 or 360. beautiful. handheld wise, i dont know. DS has gotten raped by PSP in my book. sony has shown that their handheld division can do some good for them. nintendo can try to fire back in the future with another handheld, but i wont be surprised if they fail, since so far PSP is kickin butt.

from watching the whole 2 hour thing ()

i am very impressed with what the ps3 has to offer. the performance is quite stunning and the presentation of the mechanisms of everything was flat out impressive. i for sure will get one of these things sooner or later when the time is right.

Everyone's money is going for sony. 360 was good, but then sony showed what it had to offer, still don't know how many gigs PS3's HD is gonna have if it even has one >.<

It has a detachable 2.5" HD. It sounds like it might be a standard drive (IE, swappable with standard 2.5" drives), but there's no telling yet. They haven't said how big it will be, but 20gigs (isn't that what the 360 has?) wouldn't be that hard to beat if they wanted to.

Maybe people don't notice but Sony could survive without games as is Microsoft. Nintendo on the other hand...

From what little hype they've put out, it sounds like they've realized this. Vee shall see.

I hope they do, if nintendo looses to much money then to many good games start going to waste

This is from some guy that explained the 7 controller reason at VE3D:

The reason for seven controllers is :

Bluetooth specs:

The devices in a piconet share a common communication data channel.

A piconet has a master and up to SEVEN slaves. The master transmits in even time slots, slaves in odd time slots.

well i'm definitely not crazy about the controller even tho they were using ps2 controllers during the conference hehe

i see they decided to make ps3 look like a bose dvd/receiver then the car stereo amp looking old ps2. its better none the less in my eyes

the demos shown in the conference are damn nice and i can't wait to get my hands on it but the nerve of square-enix to tease ppl with the ff7 tech demo knowing they have no intensions releasing a redone version of the game but it looked great.
