  1. Damn your eyes!! I had multiple quotes at the ready Seriously though, I don't see the problem with these installs. I'd rather GTA4 had an install on the 360 to make it smoother. Is the average PS3 not equipped with an 80GB hdd anyway?
  2. I have no recollection of any console to arcade ports. The only one I can think of is the Playchoice-10 series.
  3. Go here and download FBA instead. Run it once and then add the roms to the ROMS folder. Go to Game>Load Game and navigate to the ROMS folder, and it should scan for roms automatically. You must have the parent rom 'spf2t.zip' to run the game. The Asian clone 'spf2ta.zip' and the Japanese version 'spf2xj.zip' can be added too if you wish to use those variants instead of the US parent. Good luck, and welcome to 1emu!
  4. When I had my first 360, I can't remember what the drive was, but it needed a PCI card with that chipset and I could not buy one locally at all. I just gave up on it and decided to stick with Live. Now on my second (no RROD, I just sold the first one), I simply don't use Live. Online gaming just holds no interest to me. I grew up playing games that focused 90%+ on the core single player experience, and didn't waste resources on online considerations. I guess that's why I like Oblivion so much. Now I'm thinking about flashing my drive, although I have yet to open this one, but I can't do it. There's only a handful of games that I would want to play anyway. The main reason though, is that because of DRM, I need to be connected to Live to get Oblivion DLC to load. I have researched this, and unless you have had a faulty console, you can't get the license moved to a new console. Yes, you can redownload the DLC for free, and it will work, but only with a Live connection to verify it's usage. The last I understood, connecting to Live with a flashed drive would get you banned. This would leave me without my DLC for Oblivion. Is this still the case, or do you actually have to be playing a game online to get caught?
  5. I'd be happy to. PM me where to get a rom set you want me to use. Are we testing against 3rd Quarter? All the roms you need are in the original CoinOPs, plus around 38 extra games added with the 2nd Quarter release. Use CoinOPs+ to test any roms you like.
  6. The SNES/Genesis days were a world apart. You chose each purchase with a deftness that would have embarrassed any modern gamer. You literally lived with your mistakes. Luckily there were a lot of must-have games courtesy of Nintendo, like Pilot Wings, Zelda etc etc What genuinely surprised me was the admission from Gouken that the PS3 was outselling the PS2. I find that hard to believe, but I'll take his word for it. (fanboy or not!) j/k
  7. Good to hear. Stick around and you may just be able to help the next guy! Also check out the Google spreadsheet mentioned earlier in the thread, test a few games to help out
  8. Are you using a page file? Control Panel >> System >> Advanced >> Advanced >> Virtual Memory.
  9. In DC emulation for some reason, Sonic Adventure 2 is always almost up there with MvC2. It turned out to be one of the most disappointing gaming experiences of my life. Good luck with it though!
  10. I'm not criticizing your choice. I just found it strange that you inferred that you chose the PS3 because Sony wasn't as high on the evil-o-meter as MS. Truth be told, I'd rather a PS3. I almost never use Live, I only play Oblivion and GTA4, and I mostly use my 360 for watching HD movies, at which the PS3 is better. Just curious.
  11. Just been poking about FBA again. Mostly Battle Circuit this time. It has to be one of my all time favourite Final Fight clones. Also some Dimahoo, though I have yet to completely figure out the mechanics of that one.
  12. Well it seems that Bulls Vs Blazers was the culmination of that series, beginning with Lakers Vs Celtics, then Bulls Vs Lakers, and finally Bulls Vs Blazers. The one I played the most IIRC was NCAA which was a 3D rendition of basketball. It must have been the first 3D version of basketball, I can't remember any coming before that.
  13. You won't notice any difference really until you get up to the bigger screens like 42", or if you sit 3 inches from the screen I thought MGS4 was 720p anyway?
  14. So you chose a PS3 because Sony is less evil than MS? lol. Nice criterion.
  15. I got it working, scanned the roms 'demoderb.zip' and 'demoderm.zip', only one unecessary file needed removing. You need to remap the Left/Right controls to left/right on the d-pad to get it to steer. Otherwise it seems to work perfectly.
  16. The only vs one I remember is Bulls vs Blazers on the Snes. It wasn't up to much though. Anyway, I hate Bryant, I choose the Celtics. Plus I'm from Ireland... Guinness all round if they win
  17. Yes it should work, unless the driver has been removed. It is in the clrmame dat though. Just load the dat into clrmame in Profiles, then set a folder for it to scan in options somewhere, can't rem exactly now. Just put that 1 rom in the follder, should be demoderb, then use Scan. Over at the left you will see an option to fix the file. It may just need renamed, or internal files fixed. I'll try it later when I get home. Good luck!
  18. Stick with FBAxxx Pro. The latest is 1.28 btw. Make sure you delete the folders from both TDATA and UDATA too. I have had multiple versions of FBAxxx Pro on the hdd at once but never mixed with the standard FBAxxx. For now, keep it simple. Once you get one up and running then go from there. You shouldn't really need anything other than 1.28 though.
  19. Well inky may have a fistful of 8gig sticks, you never know! It's not like you can't erase the films anyway. Realistically, how many times are you going to watch a film on your PSP? There's always DVDR to store the films once you're done with them
  20. I quickly grabbed Robo Aleste there, I always meant to get it anyway. So I ftp it over to the Xbox, no background music, but sound effects work ok. I then try it out on Gens, same thing. Now this version is iso/wav, so I convert all wav to mp3 and then rename everything as I mentioned before - Robo Aleste.iso Robo Aleste01.mp3 etc etc Now it works fine in both Gens and NeoGenesis
  21. Make sure the names match up, like this - RoboAleste.iso RoboAleste01.mp3 RoboAleste02.mp3 RoboAleste03.mp3 RoboAleste04.mp3 RoboAleste05.mp3 etc Otherwise I don't know. Any one I have tried has worked no probs. I don't have Robo Aleste to try myself unfortunately
  22. What format is it in? Maybe it isn't properly emulated? Sounds like it is a bad cue file to me.
  23. I've had the Windows version of ChoRenSha for ages, didn't realise it begun on the x86000. Yeah, Final Fight CD is better than the original. Exact same (maybe better) gfx, but with uprated CD sound. Here's a pretty comprehensive list of x86k shooters - Angel Dive Blue Wings 2 C-ONZ Cha Cha Cha Cho Ren Sha 68k Code Zero Command X-Ray Cross Fire EX Cuarto Cyber Core Dive On First Mission 2 Firia Flame Wing Galseed Glacier Hatenkou Hellhound Integral Arm Ku2 Ku2 Comical Last Battalion Laydock Mid-Garts Mikkun Fly! Naious Nemesis '90 Kai Pensan CD Pororan Rayer Shoot Scarlet Scorpius Shooting 68k Shooting Passion Silsteel Sol-Feace Spanner-X Star Trader Super First Mission Undead Line Wind Blast Xadlak
  24. I think I have every shmup for the x68000 plus all the Capcom ports, basically all the best games. I have never played them though. I think I may just fire up X68000X right now http://www.zophar.net/x68000.html Personally I like Winx68k High Speed 0.95 found here. You may need to poke about here for the files to get it to boot.
  25. lol. I neither like nor dislike the PS3. I don't get why a game that is padded out with so many cut scenes is being touted as the best thing since sliced bread, and a PS3 showpiece? If I wanted 'brilliant directing' I'd watch Heat. I prefer games to focus on 'brilliant gameplay' instead.
