  1. AH didnt see the sourcecode stuff. Well, some other people will continue on this. *saves code to disk* BTW, does anyone has some link to tutorials on how to code an emu ? Like how to realise it technically, not code-wise. Its kind of a mystery to me and i would like to learn more about it.
  2. I sure hope that is some kind of joke... There was lots of activity on pcsx2 lately. Hopefully they claim to be dead to get rid of bogus people asking whether it will play game xyz and keep on working on it. If they dislike to continue they can at least release the sourcecode. Maybe they got some nice letter from Sony ?
  3. To me this seems totally clueless. Why would i want to play online ? There is no advantage to me playing online from playing offline. (With online i assume the emu will work in the browser or something.) Besides playing in a browser will like disable fullscreen, anyone offering this on their website will have a bunch of attorneys after him too. I can also play with others via Kaillera from my own comp, Gens is better and free, so to me it looks like the are totally wasted. Stupid kids...
  4. Im a big fan of RoadRash, and me thinks Road Rash 2 is the best of the series. Steering and music are better than in part 3, and the bikes dont look like glued in afterwards. Besides that you people forgot the Urban/Desert/Jungle Strike series, and ofcourse Landstalker, a highly underrated Action-RPG, Zelda-Style but Isometric view.
  5. Hmm looks like one lean and clean aoldialer with less ram useage might be a worthy shareware project But i guess the high ammount of ram needed is due to crappy AOL-DLLs that must be used
  6. How can one live without the possibility to play till christmas ?
  7. LOL! If thats like AOL, i'd prefer Win95
  8. Wassup with emsley ? he was on my forum too. Nothing serious i hope ?
  9. Im some kind of techie, i do this to make my living. First you said your comp freezes only when you have steam on. Steam is an internet proggy. It maybe possible, that your comp freezes due to some network intrusion while being online. Do you have a personal firewall up and running ? If not, go get one. Second thing you mentioned is, you say the comp freezes upon playing in fullscreen. This can have several reasons: 1) You videocard overheates. Make sure your card doesnt get too hot 2) Buggy drivers ofcourse, try some different versions or other drivers like omega if they work on your card. 3) What games you play, and more important, which DirectX version do they require. Modern games require DirectX 9 and there are some features that need hardwaresupport to work properly. If your card doesnt support DirectX9 that may be a cause too. You can allocate the problem and check if the PC dies at a certain place of a level. Mayhappen that some graphical features appear on the map requiring hardware support, freezing you PC for the lack of it. 4) RAM. Dunno your Windows version, but try run MEMTEST from www.memtest86.com and check wether your RAM got buggy over the years. it can be loaded on a bootable Disk/CD and stress-tests your RAM. Finally ofcourse your CPU can overheat or have become buggy. If all fails, try re-installing windows. If that helps it may be some DLL conflict or god knows what. If your comp freezes from a fresh installed windows too, it ought to be a hardware prob.
  10. Did some researching, found that AOL9 may offer this soon. http://www.betanews.com/article/1067860547 Thats way old news tho
  11. GC could make an inlineframe for that, if its possible. But then there are these big signature images to take care of. I havent seen any templates, but i hope it will be brighter and more friendly. Maybe the antialiased borders around the smilies next to the reply box will be invisible then *giggles*
  12. From my experience, a quick sign up wont have a noticeable effect. If someone is interested to join and actually _participate_ in a forum, the sign up process is not much of a problem. On the other hand, if you let everyone post without checking their email, you will have a bunch of d*ckheads here soon, bitching and moaning. There are also a lot of people coming to a site like this to download ROMs and not to communicate. If they dont find any ROMs and forums only, they move to the next site. Also note there are dozends of emulation forums around, and people usually stick to one or two forums. If you want to bring more participating people here, you must stand out of the crowd with better content. Also the forum is quite unreadable due to a lot of stuff added to the user sidebox. To illustrate this, i uploaded a screenshot. Taken at 1024x768 and resized to 800x600 for less traffic, its pretty obvious, that there is 1 sentence on the entire screen. My finger gets dizzy from scrolling all the time. More useability is needed here imho. Well just my 2 cents.
  13. I wonder if people who cant update their browser can get an Emulator to run properly ?
  14. The sound quality is poor. Hard to understand the 2nd person. Pitch that guy up a bit as well
  15. OK folks, most of you dont even know me, but not too long ago my site and 1emulation.com were affiliates. Whatever, due to lack of time, i decided to give up on my website. I just logged in a last time here to say bye bye to those who remember me (Madman of romuniverse.com), i will retire from the emuworld for being done. I wish you all the best with 1emulation.com, i see it has grown a lot and became a relieable ressource for the people. Have a nice life. See you out there!! Mads

  18. I dont know if this is of interest for you guys ? CRAZY NATION PRESENTS - ----------------------------------- - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest a.k.a. URA ZELDA - ----------------------------------- - Date.................. 03 May 2003 Supplier................. CZN TEAM Platform...................... N64 Region........... PAL60 or NTSC??? Format........................ V64 Book...... Lisa-Loup et le Conteur .---------------------------------------------------------------------===----. | | | .oOo. RELEASE NOTES.oOo. | | | | What ? A N64 rom release in 2003 ???? | | YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | | | "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest is special version of | | Ocarina of Time that was only made available to players who pre-ordered | | The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The game features more challenging | | dungeons, tougher puzzles and the familiar Ocarina storyline." | | | | This is what Nintendo has to say about what should have been released as | | a 64DD extension to Zelda 64 ! But it was sadly never released on N64, | | just on the GC... | | | | So a Gamecube is needed to play a n64 game ? Nahhhhh!!! 20. Hello friends of emugameing! A dream has, most likely, become true. A hacked version of the commercial Saturn emulator CYBERDISC (http://cyberdisc.zaq.ne.jp) which is based on girigiri has appeared in the emu scene. The guy who supposedly hacked it, is named Gavionne. I got my hands on the file, but as i am at work now, i cant check it. Maybe this is a late April fools day joke, but my researches revealed some backgrounds on this, the contents of the ZIP look promising too. A german emunews about girigiri-av : Click Here Stay tuned ! Mad
  21. PHP is computed BEFORE the website is sent to the visitor, so only the generated HTML will count to your traffic
  22. Greedynes has become a big problem in the emuscene. The spirit of the emuscene has changed within the last 2-3 years. Emuaddicted people have left the scene. At the moment the scene is not exisiting for the fun of it, as it used to be, no, financial interest and prick comparement have taken over. Example: On playgain.net we got offered a 8 pix sized link. That is: A Link with font size 8 pix. Since when do people arrange links by fontsize ? This is hilarous. Its resulting from the popularity the emu scene lately got due to articles in magazines and stuff, bringing a lot of lamers and jackasses to the scene. People are hot on GBA and PSX and the emu scene is doing wrongby providing these. Sure, it brings people to our websites, but we are also getting deeper into the warez scene this way. And this reflects the style the websites are build these days. Hell, i saw a ton of sites that only exist of friggin' Topsites links ! And these are linked everywhere. They sure got heaps of traffic, when the same visitor gets the site as popup 5 times and each link is a topsites link. The emuscene is parting. As a result of this assholery of the popular sites, there will be a part of financial oriented sites soo, fooling the visitors. The other part will be the ones who love the old games. These will have to hide more to not catch attention by the IDSA which is after the financial oriented sites offering on-sale games in first place. As a result people will either loose interest in the emuscene, cause they cant find a way to the game-loveing heartly emuscene and are scared of by the popups and ads. The other result will be, that the game loveing community will become a real friendly bunch of people knowing each other. On the long term, taken the average age of current emugamers, they will leave the emuscene for several reasons when getting older. Family, Girlfriend, Work, these things take up a lot of time. There are very very few people aged 25+ still active on the emuscene. So when these active now, reach age 25+, we can foresee the emuscene suffering. Its really sad. It started when emux.com left.
