their both great and probably the best time for gaming was to be had with both these consoles. but for me the megadrive just edges it,as much as i like contra3,super ghoulsnghosts and all the rest.the megadrive with forgotten worlds,ghoulsnghosts,sonic,gunstar heroes......were just the best games at the time.but hey i owned both. gone are the days when i payed £100 for an import version of the original streetfighter2,a lot of money but it was worth it.

you could flash your modchip with slayers auto installer disc2.7,that come with all if not most of the different versions of bios. did your xbox work before? this will probably be a waste of time but try holding the back triggers and push select and start at the same time.

ive seen a few vids on youtube with ps3 consoles that have the newest versions of yellowdog linux running on them. they have sdlmame running on linux through yellowdog and from what ive seen the emulation looks faultless. the same also goes for snes and genesis as well. has anyone tried out this version of linux on the ps3 or are these vids just fake.

well its possible that you might have to flash a new bios on to your modchip. or instead of just pushing the on button or the eject button to turn on your xbox try presing both at the same time,i have heard this sometimes works.

for mame get either mameox128plus or mamedox coinops or arcades.it all comes down to your own personal tastes. for snes most people seem to go for zsnexbox3.3(newest version)supports 720p and 1080i modes for hd. neogenesis2.1(ukmt hack)is the newest version of neogenesis. just update your emus to the newest versions and your ready to go.
