Well guys, or, US , China pretty soon will be the next super power. I couldnt find any news articles on it even tho it was on newsweek in the morning so I have no links. George Bush and his stupid war is making US go in depth for billions. I wish I knew the estimate, what now? There's a chinise launguege course coming next year in my school and im planning on taking it. If China is the next US then im sure scared to hell of what they might do to us when there in control of a country that hates communists. Even tho money wise, they already are >.<

And that makes sense how? 1 USD is worth nearly 9 Yuans, and 1 CAD is worth nearly 7. Unless the Chinese economy starts seeing a bigger boost in their economy than we are (Canada, and our economy IS going up) I can't see it happening.

 

Canada was ranked #12 last year for highest GDP per capita...China #122

 

Start looking up some facts people, I can bring you even more if need be.

But China has a huge work force and are able to get more by paying less. Also, their tech industry is booming. Another thing is that China can produce many of the goods we import. Their most important is oil which will soon be depleted thanks to every countries' over use.

 

When the oil dries up, we're all flocked. Get ready for the return to agrarian society. I just hope it dries up after I die.

Not saying I really care, but as for oil........you guys in the US may be using so damn much you have to import it, but up here we export nearly HALF of what we have.

I don't think China will attack US or anything like that. They're still in their isolation philosophy but they're coming out of that slowly.

i don't like the chinese government that much since i used to live in Hong Kong and live in USA right now, it seems that the communist government is really bad but i'm not really sure but i still don't like the chinese government, and i think Taiwan should be lefted alone. i also don't think china will attack since there's a lot of other issuses that they still have to take care of.

Ditto! China and Taiwan is like father and son, I doubt China will invade Taiwan too.

 

Anyway, here's what I think.

China was one of the strongest in the world, about a few thousand years ago. In don't-know-what-year, Britian export opium to China, so the whole China was weaken until now. So, China will rise again, slowly. For course not US$1= 7 Yuan today, and tommorow US$100= 1 Yuan. But I hope to see that day comes. I'm not racist, but it's good to see your own race become more powerful, right?

One race or another being more powerful is a spit in the ocean in the long run. What I'd like to see is the whole world get closer to working together instead of everybody for their own ass. Pipe dream? Yes. But that doesn't make it a bad idea.
