1UP: Speaking of your enemies, Tekken 5 just came out in North America (and we know how you feel about Tekken), but doesn't feature any sort of online play, multi-tiered stages, or tag-team play. Do you think they chickened out of the online arena?

TI: First they put in all of these half-finished "features", then they take them right out again. Tag fights, elevation differences, walls. I don't know if it's because they're impatient, or because they lack the ability, but no matter the reason those guys are a pretty weird bunch. Any of those things would have become a bonafide feature if they took the time to do it right (laughs). Oh, and come on guys, let's quit trying to hide the prehistoric nature of the main product by tacking on some absurd "bonus game." I have been saying this for 5 years, haven't I? If you have the time to make an action-style "bonus game", why don't you create an honest-to-god action game and sell it as a standalone product? Oh, and if you're going to bother including such a "unique" form of ball play, you should do a beach volleyball game instead (laughs).

Oh, that's right, I forgot something important. You guys did do a "bonafide" action game, didn't you? What was it called again? Oh yeah, NINA: Death by Degrees.

!!Cough!! doa beach vollyball sucks !! cough!! and doa ultimate wasnt that good either !!cough!!

DOA is a bit to technical for my fighting tastes. But I do like the stages and how the fighters can interact ie. getting thrown of a bridge, ledge etc. Tekken is the same to me as DOA in....though I haven't played a Tekken game in a long time.

I already said this before and im going to say this again, doa sucks. Tekken is way better then doa. I just wish the tekken matches were longer , i wish alot of fighting games had longer matches...

I'd argue that that when comparing Virtua Fighter and DOA, DOA is nowhere near technical.

I l;ike all fighting game. So I dun mind playing Tekken and DOA.

Only I can't really get into VF. Too technical for me :)

DOA is a fighting game? Xtreme Beach volleyball is the awesome. That and Rumble Roses are the best.

The DOA Creator has every right to say this about Tekken.

I have played both extensively, and the competition, Virtua Fighter. As a fighter, Dead Or Alive is really good. With the nice counter system, and the good execution of combinations, and the multi-tiered environments, it makes it a great fighter.

Tekken, from what I have played and seen, is a sit-and-wait fighter. ALWAYS, I see two veteran fighter just wait for someone to pounce. One wrong move, and it is curtains, because there is no effective way of cancelling an enemies combo while they are in the midst of one. Tekken 5 really hasn't evolved since Tekken 4.

I agree with the DOA creator. Tekken, really, is not up to par.

Agozer knows what he's talkin' about there. DOA is in no way near as technical as Virtual Fighter is. Sure DOA has it's technicalities, but compared to DOA, DOA is just a Sheet of paper while VF is the friking Bible.

As I said in the previous thread where this link was originally posted, I agree with him (on some parts, while I agreed with him completely in his interview with Kikzu). No, i'm not a hardcore DOA fanboy by any means (they are however, some really nice renders of women, and I played DOAXVB for the Volleyball, which isn't half bad).

Tekken isn't up there imo with VF for it's bible study, it's more like a learning to use linux kde.
