Gryph Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 wow this is bad , it hit alot of freakin places , i wonder how many people are still missing , hope this doesnt happen near the US RIP dead people<{POST_SNAPBACK}>If it happens in the US it'll be on the West coast since that's where a major fault is. The saddest part is that if the proper warning systems were in place, many people could have evacuated.
BoomBa_GoosE Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 makes me feel so good to be here in California....
Robert Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 over 24,000 now. No warning system would have helped the Maldives islands. It is hundreds of islands, most no more than 2.5 metresabove see level. The 10m wave simply washed right overthem.
Bluestinger X Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I remeber when i lived in arizona and they had those quakes in cali... we got a few shockwaves of them. Anyways soon after the quakes alot of people left cali and moved east. Man i use to live in a nice arizona town... 6 months after the quake there were gang fights and people getting shot everywhere. Damn that quake damn it to hell!
wacko_jacko Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 And that doesn't include the 20 or odd thousand that are still missing in Indonesia. The death toll will probably reach fifty thousand.
sf2_ryu Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 yep i've been hearing about this for a coupole of days now it's a really big thing in the news.
esoteric Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 we should take a moment to appreciate the fact that we are still alive
Gryph Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Up to 44,000 now. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...e_tidal_waves_7
KyokugenKiss Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 the deathtoll has quadrupled...perhaps this is devine population control
Gryph Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Death toll is 59,000+. What is probably going to be worse and take even more lives is the disease and epidemics this will cause. It could easily double or even triple the amount of people killed by the tsunami.
esoteric Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 oh my, this is REALLY becoming REALLY bad (not that it wasnt horrible before)
Agozer Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 oh my, this is REALLY becoming REALLY bad (not that it wasnt horrible before)Yeah, this is very bad. But... when nature decides to flip you off, you have no choice but to hang on to the best of your abilities. Sadly, many people could not hang on.
