  1. You can't connect to an AP as such. All you can do is associate.
  2. I had the same question for Sgstair about the C?, C+, C- code. 16:34 sgstair: C+/C?/C- are a way of determining whether an AP will work with your DS. 16:35 sgstair: C+ means that the AP's base set only includes at most 1mbit and 2mbit... C? means that the rate set is larger and that the DS has to spoof to get in... 16:35 sgstair: C- means the rate set doesn't include 1-2mbit The S is for Signal and not part of the C code thing. The % rate is signal strength as a % rather than hex. If you connect to AP the app attempts to associate with it. There is no WEP support yet. The Keyboard test is just that, a test. Definitions of wardriving on the Web: Wardriving is the term for finding and marking the locations and status of wireless networks. Wardrivers typically use software to determine whether the network is open or closed and a Global Position System device to record the location. A wardriver marks the spot either by using a symbol written in chalk on a building near the spot -- known as warchalking -- or mapping the locations and posting it on the Internet. Thanks to google define:Wardriving for that definition.
  3. It has taken a year. Xbox was cracked within a few days IIRC.
  4. i would imagine using the austrailian firmware would be illegal due to the router then operating using austrailian rf frequencies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or not. You see wifi is a standard (802.11) which means it's the same worldwide. Although i think channel 13 is banned in america, the other 12 channels are the same whether it's US, UK or Austrailian.
  5. Really? I apologise then. Alot of the other forums don't like ANY talk about warez or romz at all. Unless it's like anti-warez.
  6. Meh, so i don't keep up with the piracy scene. This thread needs locking and deleting. No piracy here please!
  7. The DS wouldn't need to be an AP so you can have a web server.
  8. I love these "hypothetical" piracy questions. However, they shouldn't be be answered here. You'll find that MK uses a new cart system which means it's actually undumpable for now.
  9. Largepig: The UK, US and EUR firmware is rubbish. If you want wifi that badly grab the austrailian ADSL2+ firmware. It works great! http://www.expansys.com/forumthread.asp?co...0551&thread=666
  10. As Tssf has said in another post this thing is sensitive. I picked up 4 access point, 3 of which i didn't know about (all unencrypted too....) I know this is like a alpha release but i have a couple of suggestions. 1. Instead of hex (?) for signal strength have a percentage or db 2. Lights out on lid close 3. Blinking light, (prehaps faster the closer you get to the selected ap?) 4. Possibility of moving the AP information to the top screen (using select?) 5. A count of WEPon vs. WEPoff AP's. e.g. 26/100 AP's WEPon Keep up the good work. This is sure better than MK wardriving (well walking). I just leave it in my bag scanning for AP's around school.
  11. Sgstair has said before that this would be the preferable way of doing things. The first release i guess it will be upto the homebrewer.
  12. Some people do know the encryption on the DS game carts. However they have chosen to keep it secret to prevent developement of DS pirate flash carts.
  13. You mean for like multiplayer homebrew? Hmm...possibly use a DS set up as an AP which other connect to, much like the PSP does.
  14. GBAMP cannot be used to revive a flashed DS. Your DS is displaying some odd behaviour but i don't think it's bricked. You'll need to get a GBA flash cart.
  15. BTW the topic title is stupid. Your just using a wireless card as an AP. It has nothing to do with wifime, apart from it can use the same chipset/card.
  16. Does MK wifi let you browse the interweb? Or use IRC? Or remote control your computer? No. Sg's project is a great achievement whatever.
  17. NO. To me that sounds like piracy. Explain better, if you mean homebrew then probably, when sgstair releases the library,
  18. JaJa_: DarkainMX: did you test Mk with the latest flashme? DarkainMX: yes
  19. It doesn't completley brick your DS. Don't say that you'll scare people. It makes it temporarily non-bootable, until you run the recovery code, which re-writes flashme. It doesn't change your firmware it overwrites a small section that should be unused. But flashme is in there, and so becomes damaged and unbootable.
  20. w00t w00t loopy_: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~tew/ loopy_: flashme fixed for mario kart JaJa_Food: wtf? already? Furre: I thought mariokart wasnt out o.o pepsilv10: what was mariokart writing, and where? zid`: loopy_: just jiggled it around a bit?
  21. He actually sumbited UDP connect/recieve and a UDP stack. He's finishing off TCP this week.
  22. Hmm...That really is a bad habit. I'll sort through those and correct them. Thanks for telling me.
  23. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I really am annoyed by yet another of these threads. The DS doesn't have a TCP/IP stack. It is implemented on a need basis by the developer of the game. It is in a special ARM7 binary that is distributed by nintendo. If they don't need online play, then no TCP/IP stack. Reverse engineering a TCP/IP stack from a dump of MK would be nearly impossible as well. There's two binaries with different langauges (ARM 7 and ARM 9) bundeled into one file. Unless you were incredibly intimate with ARM you couldn't do it. Also there would undoubtedly be legal problems if ninty thought for even a second we stole thier code (it's bad enough flashme is being distributed).

    wifi me

Nothing. If you haven't read the forum and understood what DSwifi is then you shouldn't be allowed a computer. You could learn to spell properly or even capitalise and punctuate.
  25. That's not really a problem. Once Loopy and Olimar get firmware dumps of before and after MK, they can trim/shuffle flashme and release a new one, which avoids that area of firmware.
