  1. I would think they would have taken a hint from Nokia and not done a cellphone/handheld system combo. Like Gryphonklaw said, it does hold a great deal of potential from an emulation standpoint. That's the GP32s main grab, I think, and the Gizmondo will probably fall into that small niche group of gadgets that gain a relatively small but hardcore fanbase.
  2. Game: Savage Reign System: Neo Geo / Arcade Emulators: Kawaks, Nebula, Mame, or any other NeoGeo emulator Released during the fighting game craze of the mid-90's, Savage Reign was often overlooked by the Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat fans of the world. Even SNK had bigger games in it's own stable, with it's own King of the Fighters and Fatal Fury series. Savage Reign takes much of what SNK had used in it's earlier fighters, and throws in a few new twists. Each of the 10 selctable fighters uses a weapon of some sort. Not too many fighting games let you use a girl with a gymnastics ball as a weapon, so the characters themselves are as unique as some of the weaponry. The graphics themselves are nice, though inferior to the likes of later SNK games. The characters are large and have good amounts of animation and color to them. The backgrounds, while lacking some detail, do have degrees of interactivity to them, such as being able to knock lanterns off onto your opponent in Chung's stage, or stalagtites falling to the ground in the cave stage. A zooming playfield, such as in Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting, is also implemented into the mix, allowing more of the playfield to be seen. The controls are relatively simple. A button punches, B kicks. Combonations of joystick movement with the A or B button will usually result in a special move of some kind. The C button is used for your weapons attacks, and when pressed with the B button, you are able to throw your weapon with most characters. The D button adds a new feature, allowing you to move your character betwen the upper and lower fighting planes, somewhat similar to the dual plane method employed in Fatal Fury. Be advised, however, that you are still susceptible to a jumping attack or a projectile attack even when on a different level than your opponent. The sounds are average at best. The BG music seems muffled, and really doesn't get you in a mood to pummel your opponent. Some of the character voice effects, such as some of Mezu's or Gozu's, remind me of sounds from the Fist of the North Star anime. They too, sound muffled, and subpar when compared to sounds from other SNK works. Hey, who you calling *chicken?* Overall, this is one of the poorer SNK fighters made, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun. It's unique cast and features make it worth a try. Control: 7 Gameplay: 7 Graphics: 7 Sound: 6 Overall: 6.75 Grade: D+ Overall I give it a thumbs down, but just barely
  3. lol, nice. Last thing I'd want to see on a handheld system is a windows error box.
  4. Looks neat, but their list of games isn't too appealing. This kinda seems to fit in the same vein as a Gamepark32.
  5. Looking over the release date list for the next couple of months, there's a decent amount of "high-profile* movies coming out. Batman Begins, Fantastic Four, War of the Worlds, Episode III....I'm pretty hyped about the War of the Worlds and Fantastic Four movies. A couple of others that I'm looking forward to are the remake of The Longest Yard, this time with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The Batman Begins movie, ehhh, I could take it or leave it, and I haven't gotten into the latest SW movies like I did the first three. They aren't craptacular, but it just feels like something is missing in them to me. Anyways, what do you all think about some of these movies, and are there any others upcoming that might be worth a watch?
  6. *whaps Ryuken with his cane* make it sound like I'm 60 or somethin! I'm still a teenager when it comes to some things. *pops a wheelie in his wheelchair and speeds off*
  7. Well, considering $2 aren't used all that much anymore, the clerk probably had never even seen one... A friend of mine used to work in the electronics dept at a local wal-mart, and a kid, carrying a brown lunch sack came in there and bought a $50 video game, then procedes to pay for it with nothing but change from the bag, unrolled change, noless. My friend said there might have been 5 bucks in quarters, and 10 in dimes, the rest was nickels and pennies. I laughed my ass off at him, but also felt bad because he had to count it all right then and there.
  8. Looks punk to me Edit: most belts that have detachable buckles are going to have the loop that goes through the buckle fastened by snaps, so just try tugging on the snaps on the loop. If it comes apart, there you go.
  9. "Water my ass, bring this guy some pepto bismol!!!!" - Spaceballs <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lmao, nice one, Gryph...Nothing beats Spaceball advice!
  10. It'll just make people so lazy they won't leave their couches, then they'll drop into a comatose state.
  11. Well then, hi EmanX, and welcome/welcome back
  12. I don't see how the cel-shading art can be distasteful It gives it that comic book type look, which fits the game well. I think it looks better in this style, than if they had done it in other 3d-ish styles, or with just regular sprites. I haven't played the game alot, but I don't see how it could be very boring, either.
  13. I'd never even heard of Naruto until hearing some mention in other threads, then reading this one, it's kinda piqued my interests. I don't keep up on anime or manga unless it deals with Vampire Hunter D, but I'll check this out. Sounds pretty cool though.
  14. LOL, I can just see someone flying across the room and hitting the wall with that kind of feedback.
  15. Congrats, Robbbert Seems like lately thats about all the emulation discussion that there is anymore, is about DS...
  16. I dunno if I want it to go as far as feeling a chainsaw against my neck....
  17. Fun, a bit twisted, but fun. I got 1,403 ft.
  18. First thing that entered my mind after reading this...PLaying soul calibur and having sophitia do some of her throws
  19. LOL, I remember reading that. He banned Websense employees from his site. Edit: Thanks Agozer, I hadn't checked Maddox's site in a couple of months, now I spend 30 mins reading over the ordeal with orbitz, LOL
