  1. this whole situation will probably get up to the supreme court, but it's doubtful that the court will allow the case to come before them. I don't really care for the method of letting her go by starvation, but I see the legal aspects of it. They showed a portion of a video on the news this morning, where she would *occasionally* respond (they said about once every several hours), but if she has been in this state for several years, without any kind of improvement, it would seem greatly unlikely that she would ever improve
  2. SCII never garnished much interest from me, mainly because I don't own a PS2, X-Box, or a Gamecube. What little bit I did play, on a friend's PS2, didn't grab me, unlike the original when it came out on Dreamcast. The create a fighter option sounds cool, but I don't know if that'll be enough for many people. If they do bring back the mission mode type portion, it will need to be much more varied as well - I think that was most fan's gripe about the second installment.
  3. Just to help with a couple of the replies for this contest so far.. #4 is not a Zelda game #5 is not RRR or Double Dragon
  4. Dj Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince - Nightmare on My Street
  5. New Trivia contest up now. I went with a theme this time, hopefully it will be a bit easier...link below All the games are 8-bit NES games, and this contest will end on Friday, March 25th, 2005, at 9pm Central US time. Name that Game trivia contest #2
  6. As far as these two go, I'd take the PSP, mainly for the fact that more of the games being released on the PSP would appeal to me, and that I am not too big on the need to use the stylus to do some of the controls in games on a DS (although it is a neat concept). The price tag of the PSP does make me hesitant, however. If I had my way, I'd find a TurboExpress, and a TV tuner Sorry about the double post if it's still here...it was giving me an error when I sent it originally, and I didn't know it accepted it anyways.
  7. Well, MLB did adopt a new system for testing and penalizing players caught using steroids, but it is a very weak setup. You get 5 chances(I think)before you're banned: 1st offense - 10 day suspension 2nd offense - 30 day suspension 3rd offense - 60 day suspension 4th offense - 1 year suspension 5th offense - banned In this setup, it will take roughly two full seasons before anyone could get banned from baseball, making it still fairly easy for Barry Bonds to set the HR record. It should be more like International track suspensions, where your 1st offense is 2 years suspension, and the 2nd offense is a lifetime ban. Now, it's pretty much going to be suspicious eyes watching anyone who cranks out 50+ homers in a season.
  8. bleh, everyone else has pretty mucht eh same thought I do. Google is better in soooo many ways, imo. I don't see how spending $2 billion for it can be justified.
  9. Anyone know of any good place to get either some nice artwork, like character pics or sprite rips, from any of the GG games? Also here's a link to my latest lil work(in progress). I'm trying to work on my blending techiques and such, so any comments on how to improve with it is appreciated..This one is about 40% the size of the original, because I intended the original to be a wallpaper. And if anyone does want the original, let me know, I'd be happy to share it.
  10. Being from Oklahoma, I have a loyalty to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, and a lesser loyalty to other Big 12 conference members. I didn't fill out a bracket for any pools, but I just printed up a bracket and filled in predictions for the tourney for fun, and I'm left with about 9 for the sweet 16. Kansas and Syracuse bombed for me, which didn't surprise me all that much. I still have all my Final Four teams, though - Ok. State, Duke, UNC, and Louisville I always enjoy the NCAA tournament, because you get to see a lot of the smaller schools step into the spotlight for a little bit, and sometimes even shine more than they are supposed to.
  11. I'd have to agree with letting her go. She may not be "suffering" in some ways, but in many others, she is, and to keep her alive in such a state is also making others suffer as well. I understand both her husband's side, as well as her parents, but if there is such a slim chance that any kind of recovery will ever be seen in her, then it seems cruel to let her live in such a way. And for the American government to intervene in such a matter is rediculous, IMO. This should be between the family members involved, period. Terri Schiavo even told her husband that if she was ever in such a situation, that she did not want to be kept alive as she has been all these years. I myself would not want to be kept alive if it was 99.9% certain that I would never be able to live in even the most basic capacity.
  12. That's not saying much, LOL. Actually, I did see a few people I had never seen in the channel before this weekend, and I never could connect to 2emu for some reason - it seems I can't connect to any site with a.tk in it . But anyways, great job on getting everything sorted out and upgraded, Gamecop and Co., I was going through withdrawals, hehe
  13. Ok, madienmasher was the winner for this contest, with two correct. The answers were: 1. Digimon Battle Spirit 2 (gba) 2. Actfancer Cybernetic Weapon (arcade) 3. Argus (arcade) 4. Thunder Dragon 2 (arcade) 5. Astrosmash (intellivision) Bonus: Matrimelee (neogeo/arcade) Credits were dontated right before i posted this, madienmasher, congrats I'll probably have up a new set of pictures tommorrow, I'll let everyone know.
  14. Green Nuns of the Revolution - Optimum Creakage
  15. They just showed part of opening night's show on the news this morning, this looks pretty funny. I hope it will make it around the country, so I can catch it live.
  16. I love Bomberman games, so that one is pretty high on my interest list, but other than that, only the King Kong game perks my interest. I've had my fill of Tom Clancy based games, and I haven't played any of the PoP games to warrant any big excitement over another one coming out.
  17. My first console as well, even though I didn't even get one until around late 1984, maybe early '85, and it was the newer, streamlined model. But I played it like crazy, and most toy stores were selling games for $3-5 each, which for me was great. I could ask for, and get about 7 or 8 games for my birthday and Christmas.
  18. I'm probably less than 1/8 irish, so it's not too big of a day to me, but i'll probably have a beer soon just to keep in the *tradition*, lol. Thank goodness there is no pinching at my work. I don't think guys working in a steel shop going around pinching each other all day would lead to someone getting hit in the head with an I-beam.
  19. Well I didn't want it to be too EASY..... But I do like the suggestion of setting up a common theme or something, such as all games from one system, or something else all the games have in common. I just picked games out at random from my collections and took snapshots this time. In regards to having a shorter contest time, I can do that, provided it's ok with Mods and Admins, and that I can cover the *prize money* each time. I figured within a week, I could surely have 50 credits to spare.
  20. Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything about You
  21. Not to mention the stigma of suspicion, considering the lack of answers given by McGwire and some of the others. It's a short-term success, with a long term dark cloud over (most) of them for the rest of their lives. And like you said, Gamecop, they probably shortened their lives considerably by doing so. Remember Lyle Alzado of the Oakland Raiders? Even though he died of cancer, if I remember right, his use of steroids most likely played heavily into his quick health decline. He looked nothing like the hulking figure in the black and silver of the 70s and 80s.
