Most of that stuff was already selected. It takes 30 minutes before the demo runs. Never mind, I'll add this one to the growing list of failures. Thanks for your help.
I had a play with the cfg files, and now the other computer (the one with win95 + trident card) has good graphics. But it's sooooooo slow, much slower than mame. Any way to speed it up, as I understand that Zinc should be faster than Mame.
I decided to run it via the network on this pc which has win2kpro, direct-x 9.0c, and opengl. Zinc ran horribly slow, and the graphics were even worse! Here is a sample:
I'm trying to get Zinc running. The graphics are totally corrupted on every game, but the FPS counter is fine. Any ideas? Next, I used ZincGui, and it says all the roms are missing, but if I start the game it runs - just bad graphics (as above).
It's funny that EVOL posted the question here, when I answered his question on another forum. Anyway for those that don't know, here it is - for KAWAKS. if you're using keyboard controls 1. delete eeprom\vliner.srm 2. start kawaks 3. start the game 4. in the config screen, press A until you highlight CONNECT COIN 1 KEY/NOT 5. Press these keys one at a time: F A S F 6. Now it says CONNECT COIN 1 COIN IN 7. Press D to start the game
Rundll is the program that runs all the control panel thingys. As the name suggests, it allows any dll to run as if it was an exe. This makes it a haven for viruses, trojens and the rest. During normal operation, rundll should not be running. Kill it off. If it comes back you have something bad.
FBA - I tried running it on win2k-pro, it scanned for roms and wrote a dat file, then crashed with error c000005. Unable to get past this error. Any ideas? *edit - got the answer
I have attached a list that is part of my rom manager. It lists 1. the zipfile name 2. the parent or bios 3. the sample zipfile 4. the chd file 5. the game status (GGG = it works) 6. the long name It is for mame 0.90u2 but should suit your purposes. Enjoy!
CPU could be over-heating. You can check it by downloading a program called speedfan, it will tell you the CPU temp. If it exceeds about 60 deg C, you have a problem.
