  3. No. Any version of MAME can produce a dump. A debug build switches on various internal checks, such as "assert".
  4. Most people don't need it. See: Basically, if it crashes you can get symbols (where it crashed) instead of numbers in the crash dump.
  5. These things are no longer possible with compiler versions after 10.1 . However you can indent clones with View -> Indent Clones.

    MAMEUI64 0.279.0

MAMEUI64 0.279.0 has been released. Available at https://messui.1emulation.com Note: For those people who prefer to compile their own build, the changed source is not included in the download, because it was incomplete more often than not. You need to "pull to the tag" from Github. See the above site for the location of the Github repository.
  8. In the arcade side, MAME tries to make the latest version the parent, which is completely opposite to what it should be. Definitely not the original. So, this suggestion has been accepted and implemented. Also, in the treeview (thing on the left side) it already says Parent.

  10. Yes, directly from each file. Due to the large size of history.xml, the history.idx has a list of games and offsets, so that MAMEUI can go directly to the info in history.xml .
  11. Can't help you with that. I don't know how MAME works in that area, and I don't know LUA either. Some things are a bit different, for example with gameinit.dat, if MAMEUI can't find the game, it will look for the parent and show that info instead, since it's usually the same. But, MAME won't do that.
  12. In MAMEUI, go to Options -> Default System Options -> LUA -> Enabled plugins -> Add whatever you want from the list. .\mame.ini will be updated. However, for the display of DAT files in the History window, the plugins make no difference. You only need to place the DAT files into the folder you're using for them. The settings that you would use in MAME only apply when you're running a game and use the Tab menu like you would in MAME.
  13. * MAMEUI's handling of DAT files has nothing to do with MAME, no code is shared. * In the menu, Options -> Directories -> DAT files -> is where DAT files should be stored. * The only DAT files supported are: gameinit.dat, history.xml, messinfo.dat, mameinfo.dat, command.dat * The list is hard-coded and users cannot add more. * There's no history.db, but there's an equivalent history.idx . There's no support of adding more DATs via LUA script or any other means. * Plugin.ini is not used - the selected plugins are stored in mame.ini -> plugin (this idea is supported by MAME).

    MAMEUI64 0.278.0

The devs changed where the save-state status is stored, and how it is represented. That info isn't available to newui afaict, so it's switched on always, just like MAME itself is, via F7. I have no idea why they changed it, as it was working fine before, and there's heaps of other things that need to be fixed but won't be.

    MAMEUI64 0.278.0

That's a known bug in MAME (see mametesters bug 9192), and it's been fixed for the next release. It can be worked around though. Either you can stay with PortAudio and in Windows configure an input device (such as a microphone), OR go into the default global settings, Sound, and choose something that isn't Auto or PortAudio.
