Im glad no 360 owners took that the wrong way. Mentioning 360, I think its the only of the three current consoles now that doesn't have a major exploit available for it(?).

I dont think its that great when they rip the style/idea off so specifically from a film to help promote a game,when its not licensed. It doesn't help that the original pastiche in Planet Terror felt like they were trying too hard, or that the joke wore thin before they were even half-way into the film.

There was only one event where I really felt there was Chinese favouritism and that was the womens gymanstics - beams. Other than that, I dont really know where china got all their medals from, they seem to have got the majority of their golds before track'n'field events have even started (does team golds count as x3 or x4 gold maybe?). other than that, only thing I should mention is Usain Bolt. I'm far too much of a cynic to not think there is something dodgy going on with that guy. He wasn't even going to run the 100m? Now, after that ridiculous performance in the 100m ("Don't run full speed, you'll draw too much suspicion. Maybe do what Asafa Powell does and always lose in the finals, even though he's at least 0.1 secs faster than everyone else..." except it looked like Bolt forgot that until the last 20m), it looks like he'll give a more 'convincing' performance in the 200m.

Me and my friends enjoyed the simultaneous 2-player mode of Super SmashTV. Was a combination of helping each other out whilst still competing for the best score, risking crazy runs past hordes of badguys just to claim the points from a big screen tv.

im gonna start saving my pennies to buy a ps3, and a large external HDD.

I like how Carmack goes on about the 360 and PS3, but it in the end the only machines he's playing himself are Wii and DS! -it's as if he just doesn't get it, and can only keep on pumping out high-spec demanding, uninspired FPS's like he was a broken record.

360 is great for now, think everyones saying that. It's cheap(er), got loads of great games and a great online system, and most people do say its easier to program games for it. I'm just not sure how future-proof it is. Amazingly enough its the medium format(ie dvd vs blu-ray) which looks like it will be the achilles heel for the 360 in the years to come. Hopefully MS will come up with a solution. ~ ok so maybe I just re-iterated what the Carmack said but, erm a summary "360 is better right now, PS3 will be better in the future if MS dont sort out new storage medium"

yes it does, but because of, afaik, the structured nature of the destinations for missions/assassinations, the 'free-roaming' is more akin to Head-Hunter (dreamcast) than GTA3 or any of its subsequent influences. ps. doesn't seem like there is a specific 'best' free-roamer for the Wii then.

As far as I can tell there are three free-roaming city games on the Wii. Godfather, Scarface and Driver Parallel Lines. Any suggestions as to which is the best out of the three, or if there are any other games in the style on Wii that are better?

the only problem I have with a cgi RE film is if its a japanese cgi film. The faux acting style they always use (see metal gear cut scenes, that final fantasy cgi movie etc) really grates, and makes everything seem like a really bad daytime soap opera.

yeah it is the conspiracy dudes that posted it on youtube. Im just surprised at how little anyone is raising an eyebrow to it, more because it seems to be happening without anyones consent.
