  1. I would recommend 'Welcome to the NHK' from the episodes i've seen so far. Its not what i'd call typical anime, but its still interesting.
  2. so if you had to choose one of these characters: who would you go for and why? at the moment im personally caught between going for metaknight and olimar, but i am still just a novice
  3. its certainly better than any names I've seen for Commodore64 emulators.
  4. http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm a site that uses google tech but hates google. not to be confused with scroogle.com
  5. that sounds right on, although I have only been able to find the m3 slot 1 with rumble gba cart so far where I am right now. In fact some shop owners have looked border-line insulted that I waS asking for a gba flashcart considering the number of legit gba carts they had for sale. the crackdown on r4 I read about overhere is looking realistic as they are all trying to sell the TTds slot-1 card.
  6. so as it stands right now the r4 sounds like the best slot-1 to go for, i was thinking of getting a ez-flash 5 but will check the prices now. just a quick question regarding gba compatibility of the slot2 devices, does m3 or ez-flash families have better gba compatibility?
  7. So a little while ago there was donkey kong country 2 decrypted. Now though that VC game and few others are turning up as wad files that are installable to the Wii menu. The programs that allow this are out there too, so it may not be long before we see every VC game available.
  8. thanks for those suggestions, gonna have a listen and pick a few out, see if they can be temp hosted somewhere, then see how if anyone likes them/think they work. -yeah chibi kami those youtube links are outta sight :/
  9. erm I guess nobody has any suggestions then. oh well
  10. So I was just listening to a couple of songs from newish band Metronomy's album Pip Paine (particularly Black Eye Burnt thumb), and it reminded me of some of the soundtracks from jRPGs on the SNES. Anyway between that song and some of the stuff I remember off of Mercury Rev's Deserters Songs album, was wondering if anyone had suggestions for music (western preferably) that wouldn't sound out of place in that style of RPG. Perhaps we could put together a "1emu's imaginary RPG's soundtrack" type of compilation.
  11. When you talk about 'the original' are you talking about MK64? I have memories playing Super Mario Kart and MK64 with my friends, and though we had loads of fun with them both, I've no doubt that SMK ****s on MK64 from a great height. Even when you take into account it being 2-player vs 4-player, MK64 is a dire game compared with its predecessor. I've played all the games in the series bar Double Dash, and MK64 just breaks so many of the things which were right about about SMK. I think you're right though about people revering MK64 simply because of the 4-player fun they had with it. I guess it's similar to people lauding over FF7 as the best in the series, if not the best RPG ever, but really it was the first rpg they ever played and have never played any of the previous Final Fantasy games. The memories stick.
  12. its easily better than the n64 version (the mongaloid sheep of the series), even if you play with the crappy wheel. snaking -as a means to win- has finally been nerfed, and the online infrastructure has been adapted to counter all the player-related problems mario kart ds had. ...but unfortunately yes, it does use the friendcode system, though it gives you the option to invite any friend you already have added on your wii, making it a little less painful.
  13. while I'll agree alot of the later FF's are like that with the main characters, I can't help mention 'every game follows a specific formula'? Have you played the Zelda's much...
  14. if you included final fantasy tactics games in the final fantasy series, then yeah, final fantasy, more variety. plus there was never any point killing monsters in zelda when you had max money and health.
  15. I'd always thought any new retail 'freeloader' for the Wii would -as an absolute must- have to be updateable, via online (I was a little disappointed Datel didn't do this afaik). It was already apperent Nintendo were willing to release updates simply to nerf older freeloaders, like the gc one, so really a homebrew based region bypass looks like a better option, as it should hopefully be able to adapt to any measures Nintendo take in the future.
  16. I am a little curious about the VC emulators, especially the N64 one, so this is great
  17. Slight update on that. There are emulators (specifically a Snes and Megadrive one atm in reference to VC and roms) working on un-modded Wii's using the Twilight Hack, with the possibility of an N64 emulator reported but I have not seen myself. At this point in time all you need is a copy of Zelda:TP, an SD card (+ reader for pc obviously) and gc controller(for the time being). check out wiibrew on the net.
  18. are you going to play mario kart wii?
  19. When he accidentally kicked Jiraiya upside the head, that was kinda cool.
  20. a lounge for emulators sounds interesting, i like lounges, but I don't know how something like that could be implemented successfully -nevermiiiiind you meant a lounge like the one here in the forums...
  21. Mario Kart Wii would be a good first choice, they're always fun and even more so with online. If you really like Wii sports, I heard a rumour Deca Sports (by Hudson apperently) is set to possibly be as good, but with an even wider range of sports available to play in it. Deca Sports preview on ign
  22. I have completed a fair few games, but the first I ever completed was Count Duckula on the Spectrum +2. Its strange thinking back, how much harder those 8-bit home computer games were compared to modern titles.
  23. This thread has now gone off-topic.
  24. its bigger than I initially thought it would be, the only pic I originally saw was this one on another site, so thats one more big section added on. Also it might be a positive thing about the game world size, many people say GTA3:Vice City was the best of the GTA3 games, as it focused more on enjoyable missions than perhaps San Andreas did on wide and varied landscape.
  25. not just fists, as many beat em ups let u pick up weapons to beat with also. In fact in that star wars 1 on 1 beat em up on ps1, the guy with the lightsabre would more than likely beat up the guy with the gun.
