  1. I was thinking about about getting a US wii points card, because of the strength of the £ against the $, but do not know if there is any region locking on the wii points system. does anyone have any knowledge/experience of trying this?
  2. Would you be happier if we limited it to just 1v1 fighters and fpShooters then? I'd say why don't you guys go argue about 2d shoot em ups vs beat em ups, but you both seem to prefer the shoot em ups
  3. Because after you complete a couple of levels, you start taking on the marines, and loads more guns get dropped, so much so the game starts to play a little more like that older Aliens arcade game where u go around shooting everything, but still side scrolling
  4. Hey we know the difference, but the argument is an all encompassing one, because even in a fps you are still 'shooting them up', same goes for street fighter2 as a 'beating them (one by one) up'. The ones im trying to avoid are the more hybrid games like AliensVsPredator(capcom),Manhunt and Condemned. If you would like an argument about pure 2d shoot-em ups vs beat-em ups, have to do it in another thread :]
  5. Well to match those requirements, gonna have to include 1v1 beat em ups, though i could argue river city ransom -after you've bought alot of moves- calls on those things too. but anyway yeh tekken6 and virtua fighter5 require heaps of dexterity, reflexes and memory, plus if u can't keep up you're gonna be deaded quick
  6. yeah but in street fighter2 if you use Dhalsim, youo get stretch armstrong limbs AND you can give people noogie's
  7. Exp44 you are wrong, beat em ups are better than shoot em ups!
  8. kaillera appears to be down again, for the past couple of days at least. the site and even that anti3d.com page also. any info would be appreciated
  9. yessss! n1, ty gonna have a go on it now, see if I can do any better than i did back then
  10. Hello I was hoping you guys might be able to help with the name of an arcade game I remember playing briefly as a kid. It was a karate 1 on1 game with fairly basic graphics (83-86 ish) for an arcade game. It was quite novel in that it no button controls for your character, only 2 joysticks. This is not a rom request, I just need to know the name of the game, if anyone has any clues. If people have access to screenshots would be even better as I'm sure I'd be able to recognise it.
  11. believe me, deleting them manually in safe mode was the first thing i tried when i found them. the reason i mentioned that special permission thing is im fairly certain that the reason i can't delete them. im gonna try this vundo fix prog in safe mode see how it works out.
  12. well i got sp3, but it didn't help infact after trying out various spyware/adware progs it's looking rather bleak hijackthis found 2 specific entries which scream malware but I can't manage to delete them, finding them in regedit with my pc in safemode the permissions on the files/folder are screwed up, with a 'CREATOR USER' having special permissions I just can't get rid of. the specific hijackthis entries O2 - BHO: (no name) - {56320505-CFA5-463A-B95F-161E17450FAB} - c:\windows\system32\cljdclj.dll O20 - Winlogon Notify: jvheynhl - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cljdclj.dll the jvheynhl folder i found in regedit has some unpleasant looking entries in it that may explain my winlogon restarts. it too has the creator user permission problem, whenever selecting to fix the entries in hijackthis, they are not removed when i rescan. Ideally I need help either with regedit type tutorials (im doing that now) to sort out that permissions issue, or an anti-malware prog that can remove these files.
  13. afaik the ps3 uses bluetooth for the connection between machine and controller, same as the wii. The ds uses that other wifi standard (802.11b/g i think). Then again the wii has a single example (pokemon battle revolution) where the ds can be used as a controller, but i think it 'switches on' input from a wifi source for the wii. Ideally u'd want an example where the ps3 and the psp interact in some way (like that rear view mirror mode for the psp they promoted with a racing game at e3), to see how that functionality likewise becomes available, if its at all different from the standard data transfer (ie not one way). It all sounds a bit long winded just for the novelty of using a Nintendo handheld as a controller for a Sony machine. I suppose the irony would be it wouldn't be the first time Nintendo tech has been used for Sony controllers .
  14. im getting a combination of various crashes and unforced restarts to my machine. whenever this happens, the error report that comes up on reboot states either winlogon or ntdll.dll caused it. the past few days the most frequent one i've been getting is an almost regular restart occurring from 24 hours after my machine has been switched on. the thing i found strange was this happened whether or not i was connected to the internet. searching on the internet i have seen this has happened to other people a fair amount, and in most cases the response has been to reformat and reinstall windows because the users pc has been compromised in some way. doing thorough scans on my pc i havn't found any malicious files that seem capable of causing the crashes, only some minor adware which has been easy to remove. i am reluctant to reformat, and was asking here if anyone could help me in regard to some sort of fixes specific to winlogon and ntdll.dll . my OS in windows XP home sp2. thanks in advance
  15. i'd mention might & magic 2 or 3 on super nintendo, just as western rpg examples. they're kind of slow and clunky in combat, but obviously the advantage with an emulator is you can turbo through enemy phase. main reason i refer them, despite lack of visual character design and awful sound, is as far as rpg's go they're the closest i've played to combining the party structure of eastern rpg's with the free form development (story and acessable game world) of western rpgs (elder scrolls etc). - i hope in the future i get to see better realised hybrid rpgs, with party development akin to ff5 or ffTactics and the freedom of exploration seen in western games.
