I've said this a few times before, but one more time can't hurt... You basically need 10x - 15x faster CPU than the CPU a program is trying to emulate in order to achive the so-called "perfect" emulation speed. Of course, this is not the whole story, since sound emulation and possible emulation of special addon chips (i.e. SNES had numerous) contribute as well.
